Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 477: Source of Element

Nathan frowned. ”They arenʼt?”

”Yep. You can think of Point A as the producer of ena and Point B as the producer of elements. Well, since the theory of ena being a particle has been proven, I guess itʼs much simpler to use it as an example.

”When you absorb alien cores, the particles will be staying in your body, correct?”

”Yes.”

”When you use your ability, you will only release the energy contained in that source, as you explained previously. As a result, that source will gradually produce the ena once again, which means recovery.

”Letʼs call this source Point A. If you think about this, you can understand the reason for aliens not having elements, right?

”After all, they donʼt have Point B, the source to produce the element. Meanwhile, familiars have this element source, which is located in the heart. Hence, once the ena comes out of the heart, it has fused with the element.

”However, without that element source, the heart will only produce ena. This thing is the same.

”If you infuse only ena into this weapon, you can only shoot ena, not something fused with elements. Hence, the problem.”

”Ah!” Nathan nodded in understanding. He couldnʼt help but look down, thinking, ʼNow that I think about it, my contract only thinks about controlling the ena. What if I use the contract to create a source for the element? If itʼs not for a lifelong contract, it can be a year or two.ʼ

Melissa pinched the bridge of her nose. ”You will need a lot of ena to repel the cloud. After all, the ash cloud is much heavier compared to the normal cloud. This wonʼt be cost-effective and, in fact, might become a huge burden. It can sustain a place for a month or two, but the cost will be too much after that.

”This is my field. The reason for her to recruit me is that I can help her. Thatʼs all.”

Nathan looked down, feeling hesitant. ”So, are you going?”

”Hmph. It canʼt be helped. To think that she ends up groveling in front of me, I guess I have to.” Melissa harrumphed with a smug smile.

Nathanʼs eyebrows twitched, thinking, ʼSo easy.ʼ

”Now that I think about it, isnʼt this the process for the lifebound familiar?” Nathan asked. ”The process to create this source?”

Melissa looked surprised. ”I didnʼt expect you to know about it this early. Well, yes. It is one of the processes to turn a familiar into a lifebound familiar. It doesnʼt seem you know a lot about it, so I will refrain from talking about it further.”

”Ahaha.” Nathan scratched the back of his head.

Melissa added, ”Anyway, back to the topic. The arrow is the most important. We also need to design it in a way that it can fall down without any problems. And it also needs to carry the ena storage with it.

”This is the only solution I can think of right now. The problem is how weʼre going to modify this arrow.”

Nathan crossed his arms. ʼAn element source, huh? No, wait. Isnʼt this something I can do? No one in this world can do this, but I have a soul contract. What if I use the soul contract to create the wind source? I have been thinking about using this kind of contract to create a weapon spirit or something like those in the cultivation novels, but what about the element source?

ʼIf itʼs possible, the solution will become much simpler. However, I might have to reveal the soul contract to the world… Wait. Is being born with an ability something that can happen in this world?

ʼShould I ask my master first? If itʼs possible, then I can disguise it in one way or another. And she is probably the only person I can reveal the soul contract to if a person can indeed be born with a special ability.

ʼThatʼs how we should proceed. If itʼs not possible, I will just let Melissa think about the solution.ʼ

Nathan asked, ”Miss Melissa. Do you think itʼs possible for you to think about this on the way?”

Melissa raised her eyebrows before sighing. ”Sure. Since we have to use the teleportation circle in that place, wait for me at the south gate. I will grab a few things before leaving.”

”I understand.” Nathan agreed without hesitation.

It took Melissa half an hour to pack up her luggage. It was quite huge, but it contained not only her research tools but even her masterʼs research and blueprints. Melissa knew that this might be the last time she could visit this place due to the great change.

Nathan had no other place to visit, so he returned to his new home right away, finding the ash cloud had reached even them. The Dragon King seemed to be occupied with directing the cloud while some summoners were seen on the ground, either filling up the lake or creating a giant mud structure to cover the area from ash.

Melissa couldnʼt believe that they actually managed to gain the Dragon Kingʼs cooperation and tried to ask Nathan the secret to invite such a person.

Unfortunately for her, Nathan maintained his silence.

”Please wait for a moment.” Nathan politely bowed before going to Vivian and Charlotte.

”Master.”

”Youʼre back?”

”Yes. Iʼve gained the cooperation of the Blacksmith Guildʼs guild leader and brought back Miss Melissa.”

Vivianʼs eyebrows twitched upon the mention of Melissa, but she didnʼt speak about anything else. ”Sure. Good work.”

”Actually, after talking to her, thereʼs something I would like to ask you.”

Vivian didnʼt think much about it. It wasnʼt like the project could be finished anytime soon, so it wouldnʼt hurt to listen to what Nathan had in mind.

”Is it possible for a human to be born with an ability?”

”En?” Vivian widened her eyes in surprise while Charlotte raised a finger. ”If youʼre talking about an ability that a person can have before they become a summoner, then that means youʼre talking about an innate ability.”

”Innate ability?”
