Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 416: Manipulating the Liaystian Kingdom

”Send the letter to the Liaystian Kingdom and mention Rudeusʼ name in it… Oh, also the Beast Kingdom. Tell them that the Holy Kingdom, in regards to the future of this world, has managed to gain my approval to share the technology to avoid any monopoly.

”We are willing to let two of their best blacksmiths witness and learn the manufacturing process. I have asked my master to spread the words to organizations unrelated to nobility, such as the Blacksmith Guild and merchants.

”If you say you have gained my proposal, they will definitely think they owe you a favor, which is definitely helpful for the Holy Kingdom, no?” Nathan asked.

The Pope looked surprised. ”Are you sure about this?”

Nathan nodded. ”Well, I havenʼt sent any gifts that can be considered a bride price for Sera. So, I think this will be a good one.”

The Pope blinked a few times as he couldnʼt believe that he was willing to do this just for Seraʼs sake. It showed how much he cared for her. ”When you have proposed to her, I will send the dowry then.”

Sullivan was also stunned and held Nathanʼs hand. ”Grandson-in-law… When are you going to marry our Noelle?”

The Pope slapped Sullivan and covered his mouth while saying, ”Stop tempting him. Just go to the frontline and cut some aliens.”

”What the hell? This is not fair.” Sullivan gritted his teeth. He turned to Nathan with puppy eyes. ”Nathan. Arenʼt we on good terms? I have helped you a lot, especially with those mature class cores, right? Also, Noelle is pretty, no?”

”But I have given you the Dragon Kingʼs favor…”

”See? He is fair. Shut up!” The Pope snarled. ”Besides, canʼt you see his true intention in giving me this favor? Itʼs not just about Serafina!”

”Huh?” Sullivan raised his eyebrows.

”He mentioned the second prince of the Liaystian Kingdom. Do you know what will happen to him after the Liaystian Kingdom is aware of this situation? He will be much more favored within the kingdom.

”And this is a favor that canʼt be repaid easily. Hence, even if he becomes a sovereign in the future, he will owe Nathan a great debt. However, he is just mentioning his name, and their only relationship is that of a classmate, which means people will just think itʼs goodwill because theyʼre good classmates, but not close enough to be friends.

”As such, even if thereʼs going to be a throne battle in the future, he wonʼt be dragged into it because he is just a mere classmate.

”If the second prince wins, he will become a close ally. Canʼt you see all that? This is a huge investment without any drawback, even if it fails!” The Pope raised his voice.

Sullivan fell silent. Now that he thought about it, it was true.

By making Rudeus owe him this favor, Rudeus would definitely try his best not to cause him any problems. If there was a noble from the Liaystian Kingdom doing this, Rudeus would do his best to destroy them for Nathanʼs sake. It could be said that this favor had completely removed the entire Liaystian Kingdom as a threat.

Sullivan looked shocked. He couldnʼt help but lean back in his chair, feeling exhausted. Did Nathan plan all this?

”You… Are you sure youʼre just a kid? Not a demon king or something?”

”Whatʼs with that question? Iʼm turning 17 years old next year.” Nathan chuckled.

Sullivan gulped down. ”If only any of my grandsons were half as capable as you, I could have retired in peace…”

The Pope raised a finger. ”However, I think you should invite one more person.”

”One more person?”

”Yes. He is the King of Death, Elysion Aquamoon.”

”!!!” Nathan was surprised, while Sullivan smiled wryly. ”The strongest summoner in the world, who governs and develops the current land of the dead by himself. Even if itʼs just a formality and he wonʼt come, itʼs good to invite him.”

”I understand. Well, I wonʼt be attending that meeting because I have another important thing to do, so I will let you arrange everything.” Nathan nodded in agreement.

”Alright. That should do it.” The Pope nodded.

When the Pope opened his eyes after recalling that conversation, he couldnʼt help but feel chills down his spine.

”Demon king, huh? How could one be called a demon king when he has a divinity in his body? It might not be his, but if it comes from his beasts… I doubt it is only one beast. After all, I also have a divinity because of my Archangel Michael. In that case, all his beasts might be divine beasts…” The Pope smiled wryly. ”Things are getting interesting. An anomaly that is born in this era. I thought it would be good to let Elysion and Nathan meet as the current strongest summoner and the rising star… I guess fate doesnʼt allow it yet.”

…

Sleeping Garden.

Evelyn couldnʼt help but furrow her eyebrows. ”So, you know everything will work perfectly when I ask you to catch a hand for me?”

Nathan shrugged while saying, ”Well, I didnʼt expect you to ask me for the hand.”

Nathan looked away while adding inwardly, ʼAll I wanted back then was to stay away from politics. I just thought with this plan, I wouldnʼt have to be troubled with politics because Rudeus, the Pope, and Sullivan would handle it for me.ʼ

Evelyn closed her eyes. She had been played thoroughly. ”I canʼt believe this.”

”Hehehe. You better train how to smile, Captain.” Nathan smirked. ”You will need it soon.”

Evelyn shook her head. ”It seems youʼre misunderstanding something, Nathan.”

”What? Youʼre going to take back your promise by abusing your authority as the captain?”

”No. I prioritize my revenge. Let alone a single smile. I would greet you with a smile every time I meet you if I can accomplish my revenge.” Evelyn sighed. ”Anyway, I have heard enough. I will teleport the crystal to measure our ena to our base after you get the permission.”

Nathan ignored it and looked at Evelyn back as he couldnʼt help but tease her, ”Does that mean if I can make you accomplish your revenge, I can ask something like marrying me?”

Evelyn halted her step. Instead of answering that question, she asked another question. ”Suppose you were our enemy. How were you going to capture or kill us all?”
