Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 405: Shocking Other Kingdoms (Bonus)

Holy Kingdom.

Obviously, the word about the magic weapons reached the Popeʼs ears as well. As the one who stood at the very front against the aliens, anything that could help them get an advantage against the aliens was welcomed.

The one presenting the news was an archbishop called Damian.

The Pope squinted his eyes. ”I see. That kind of weapon is going to be dangerous. Not only other kingdoms but even terrorist organizations will also come to him.”

”Should we secure him or something? We have Sera by his side, so if we want…”

The Pope chuckled. ”After dealing with him through Sera this whole time, I know that this guy is a tough one. Ask Sera what he wants directly. The simplest way is the correct way to deal with someone like him.”

The archbishop smiled wryly as if he recalled something.

”Whatʼs wrong?”

”The Pope is wise.” The archbishop sighed in defeat. He took out a letter.

”What is that?”

”Both of you are thinking the same thing. Actually, this information comes from Saintess Serafina. And she passed me this letter. She said, ʼIf my teacher heard about this information and wanted me to ask him about the magic weapons, pass the message in this letter.ʼ”

”Hoh? And whatʼs inside that letter?” The Pope was amused. It seemed Nathan had seen through him.

The archbishop opened the letter carefully and was stunned by the content of the letter.

”Whatʼs wrong?”

”N-No. The letter only contained five words. It said, ʼNo monopoly. Support the Registration.ʼ”

”Pfft.” The Pope wasnʼt offended. He was laughing out loud as though he were satisfied with the letter. ”This guy is the best.”

”Sir…”

The Pope asked, ”If we register our summoners, what would happen?”

”Our information will be known. We have been much more discreet regarding the information of our summoner, but if we do this, we will end up revealing a lot of information.”

”Will it be harmful to the Holy Kingdom?”

”Not necessarily. Still, that information can be used as a weapon by others. However, the benefits outweigh them.”

”Suppose I order you to proceed?”

”I will do my best to convince other archbishops and begin the registration.”

The Pope stood up. ”In that case, I order you to proceed. And Iʼll be meeting this boy. Frexia Academy, right?”

”Sir… For a person of your status…” The archbishop looked shocked, not expecting the Pope to want to meet Nathan personally.

The Pope shook his head. ”Even though Iʼm the Pope now, I wasnʼt the Pope in the past. I was just a normal person that everyone would ignore on the street. All I had was a few more decades than him.”

The Pope was simply saying that he was just an older man. It was as if he acknowledged Nathan to be equal in other things other than their age.

The archbishop was stunned. This was the first time he saw the Pope praising someone this much.

The archbishop could only let out a sigh. ”I understand. I will arrange everything here. I will ask Sera when you can meet.”

”Mhmm.” The Pope nodded, feeling a bit excited.

…

Liaystian Kingdom.

The king was standing on his throne, glaring at Rudeus in shock. ”You… You have been hiding all this information the whole time?!”

Rudeus couldnʼt reply to him. In the end, his plan was to have his sister approach Nathan next term. This way, he would wield a lot of power in the kingdom, which would make him in the position to fight for the throne.

Besides, hiding all this information, including the fact that he once lost to Nathan, was not that much of a big deal. However, it all changed after the two topics Nathan and Vivian brought into the conference.

If they had known about this the whole time, the kingdom would have done something. But because Rudeus kept all this information a secret, the Azilia Kingdom had an advantage over them.

The only miscalculation that Rudeus had was the fact that Nathan would become this big in such a short period. He thought the biggest thing he should worry about was his identity as a unique summoner.

But it turned out Vivian was the biggest reason. Now that he thought about it, Nathan was weirdly accepted into the academy. People thought it was because of the answers he put on that exam.

After that conference, it was clear that the exam was set up by Vivian. And Nathanʼs answer might have led her to this result. In other words, Nathan was the biggest contributor.

The reason the academy accepted him was not because of his beasts but because of his unique ideas.

”Your Majesty. Even though he is close to the Azilia Kingdom, it doesnʼt mean he has been swayed yet. As proof, itʼs clear that only Selena and Sera are with him. If he had been swayed, people like Noelle or even Flora would have been with him. We still have a chance. Please give me another chance. I will make it right!”

The kingʼs expression darkened. There was even a killing intent leaking out of his eyes.

Rudeus had to persuade him to avoid losing everything, including his life. He had to word it carefully because this battle wasnʼt between him and Flora anymore. It was the battle between the Azilia Kingdom and the Liaystian Kingdom.

Rudeusʼ fate was similar to Count Ashtonʼs. With the sudden eruption of Nathanʼs popularity, there were a lot of nobles currying his favor. In other words, they would suppress Count Ashton without Nathan even asking for it. In the end, Selena would have the last say about it. As long as she gave them a nod, they wouldnʼt hesitate to destroy the Ashton family.

Still, there was also a consideration of her missing father. If they destroyed the family, what if the former Count Ashton, Selenaʼs father, returned? That was why they couldnʼt act rashly.

As for the one who caused all this mess, they had a hard time escaping from the people trying to get the project.
