Peerless Divine Doctor

”Who am I? I should be the one asking you that. What are you doing in my wife’s office? Trying to take liberties with my wife, huh? Looking for a beating, are you?”

Ye Luo glanced at the other man with disdain and made his way to Li Wanqin’s side.

”Why are you here? Get out now.”

Li Wanqin whispered softly as she looked at Ye Luo.

”Why should I go? Tell me, wife, who is this guy? Has he been bullying you? If he has, I’ll teach him a lesson right now.”

Ye Luo’s gaze pierced into Shen Mo as he spoke aggressively.

At that moment, hearing Ye Luo’s words, Shen Mo’s face turned extremely ugly, his expression as dark as still water, with a vulture-like glance at Ye Luo before turning to Li Wanqin.

”Wan Qin, who is this jerk, and what’s your relationship with him?”

”He...”

Just as Li Wanqin was about to speak, Ye Luo hugged her at once, smirking, ”What is our relationship? I’ve already called her wife, can’t you see? Is there something wrong with your brain? Do you need to go check yourself into a mental hospital?”

Whoosh!

Shen Mo stood up abruptly, and his originally handsome face became ferociously dark, his eyes flashing with a cold light as he fixed his gaze on Ye Luo.

”Kid, I don’t care who you are. Li Wanqin is my woman. If you don’t want to die, you’d better leave right now. And I don’t believe there’s anything between you and Wan Qin.”

”Is that so? You don’t believe it? Then I’ll just prove it to you.”

Ye Luo said and wrapped his arms around Li Wanqin, going straight in for a kiss. Their lips pressed tightly together, she gaped in astonishment, her eyes wide, staring at the Ye Luo who was so close to her, her expression shockingly complex.

”You... you two...”

Upon witnessing this scene, Shen Mo’s face turned green with jealousy, feeling as if he were wearing a cuckold’s cap. Despite the great lengths he had gone to, he hadn’t even touched Li Wanqin’s hand, yet Ye Luo was kissing her right in front of him. The sight dealt a harsh blow to Shen Mo and ignited his rage.

”You’ll both pay for this.”

Shen Mo angrily threw out these words and stormed out of the office.

Bang!

The office door slammed against the frame with a violent noise, and at that moment, Li Wanqin regained her senses, forcefully pushing Ye Luo away with all her might.

Slap!

A crisp slap rang out as Li Wanqin’s hand struck Ye Luo’s face.

Ye Luo looked at Li Wanqin somewhat bewildered, but still managed to say, ”I’m sorry, just now...”

”Think it’s funny, do you? Who gave you permission to treat me like that? Don’t you dare think that just because we slept together, you’re someone to me. I’ve told you, I have no relationship with you, and I don’t want you to bother me anymore.”

Li Wanqin’s voice was cold as she spoke, and her eyes shimmered with a complex emotion.

”I saw you...”

Ye Luo began to explain something, only to be interrupted outright by Li Wanqin.

”I don’t want to hear it. Whatever happened just now is my own business. It doesn’t require your interference, nor your concern. I’ve told you, since that day, there is nothing between us, and if there is, it is merely the relationship of colleagues working at the same company.”

”You’re the CEO’s fiancé, and it’s not appropriate for you to stay in my office. Please leave immediately.”

”Is it because of Ling Qingya?”

Ye Luo’s brows furrowed slightly.

”Go, leave now!”

Li Wanqin’s voice was very cold, her face covered with a layer of frost.

Ye Luo looked deeply at Li Wanqin, said nothing, and turned to leave the office.

Watching Ye Luo’s retreating figure, Li Wanqin’s face bore a look of desolation, her eyes filled with an indelible sorrow and sadness, making her appear so lonely and helpless.

”Ye Luo!”

At that moment, Ye Luo had just reached the elevator entrance and pressed the button. The voice of Ling Qingya echoed from afar, but it was as though Ye Luo didn’t hear it at all, going straight into the elevator. By the time Ling Qingya arrived, the elevator doors had already closed...

”What’s with this guy?”

Ling Qingya frowned slightly, then went straight to Li Wanqin’s office.

”President, what brings you here?”

Seeing Ling Qingya appear, Li Wanqin’s expression changed slightly, and she quickly hid the emotions on her face.

”Wanqin, I heard that your fiance came by. How come I didn’t know about this before?” Ling Qingya asked, looking at Li Wanqin.

”That was arranged by my parents, but I didn’t agree to it.”

”Wanqin, although we are superior and subordinate in the company, we are also good sisters in private. I can tell you don’t fancy this fiance of yours. If you’re unwilling, you should fight for your own happiness. I don’t like to see you unhappy in the end. If there’s anything you need, you can talk to me,” Ling Qingya said softly.

”Are you happy, President?”

Li Wanqin suddenly looked at Ling Qingya and asked.

”Uh?” A look of surprise flashed across Ling Qingya’s eyes.

”I mean, are you happy with your fiance, that is, Vice Chief Ye?”

Li Wanqin’s dark eyes stared at Ling Qingya, shimmering with an unusual luster.

”I...”

Ling Qingya was at a loss for words for a moment but after some contemplation said, ”Actually, ever since I found out about my arranged marriage with him, I have been against it.”

”Why?”

”Because the man Ling Qingya needs is someone who can help me, stand up for me, the one who can hold up the sky for me. And he, the eldest son of the Ye Family, known for his profligacy and ignorance, is not the man I need.”

”But I see...”

Li Wanqin’s brows furrowed slightly.

”That’s right, ever since he disappeared a few months ago and then reappeared before me, I felt he was somewhat unfamiliar, as if he had become a different person, someone I couldn’t see through. Gradually, I found myself not repelling him anymore,” Ling Qingya said in a heavy tone.

”So, are you in love with him?” Li Wanqin suddenly asked.

”No, at least not now. I can’t change this marriage, perhaps I can only try to slowly accept it. However, I don’t want you to end up like me; you at least still have the right to choose,” Ling Qingya said, looking at Li Wanqin, then comforted her a few words before leaving the room.

”Why...”

Li Wanqin murmured to herself with a desolate expression, carrying a sense of heartache that made one want to offer sympathy.

Meanwhile, Ye Luo had already left Ling Corporation and was walking on the street, his expression filled with an inexplicable bitterness.

At this moment, Ye Luo felt somewhat annoyed, not even knowing why, perhaps because of that slap from Li Wanqin.

Although he had only known Li Wanqin for a few days, that night’s incident had left a deep impact on both of their hearts.
