Peerless Divine Doctor

Che Taiming’s expression changed suddenly, his eyes flashing an unusual hue, he spat out, ”I don’t know what you’re talking about?”

”I don’t want to beat around the bush. How do you plan to resolve this matter, with money or with your life, make your choice.”

Ye Luo’s voice turned abruptly cold, a terrifying chill filling the car, seeping into Che Taiming’s body, causing him to shiver.

”What do you mean? I’ll have you know, I am the heir to Che Corporation. If anything happens to me, not only will Che Corporation not let you off, but the Goryeo government won’t either. Even if you are powerful, Huaxia will have to hand you over.”

Che Taiming continued with a menacing yet hollow bravado, his demeanor seemingly calm, but his face betrayed a hint of unrest.

With the corners of his mouth turned up ever so slightly, Ye Luo revealed an enigmatic smile.

”Do you think I care about all that? Believe me, I could kill you and no one would know it was me.”

As Ye Luo spoke, his gaze turned towards Che Taiming, who, seeing the expression on Ye Luo’s face, clenched his fists, his expression growing tense and earnest. Usually composed, he felt a disconcerting inability to settle in Ye Luo’s presence.

”How much money do you want?”

”Ten billion!”

”What? Ten billion? Are you insane? Are you trying to rob me?”

”NO, NO, NO, this isn’t robbery. I’m just asking for a little compensation for my emotional distress, and I want it in Huaxia Currency, not your Goryeo Currency.”

”You...”

Suddenly, Che Taiming’s face turned unspeakably ugly, an angry glare fixed on Ye Luo as he fought the urge to explode.

Although Che Corporation was the largest conglomerate in Goryeo, with assets in the hundreds of billions, surrendering ten billion to the man responsible for his brother’s death was naturally something Che Taiming found hard to accept.

”Of course, you can also choose not to pay, then I might consider sending you to meet your brother. I’m sure he must be lonely down below by himself. I might as well send you to keep him company.”

Ye Luo said, his eyes sparkling as he watched Che Taiming.

For a moment, Che Taiming’s face looked as if he had swallowed something vile, his eyes flashing continuously as he contemplated his next move. Finally, he said, ”Fine, but I don’t have it on me. I need to return to Goryeo to get it to you.”

”Please don’t treat me like a fool, give it to me now.”

”But I genuinely don’t have that kind of money on me.”

”No problem. Che Corporation has it, right? Call your father right now and have him transfer ten billion immediately. It shouldn’t take too long, I believe.”

Ye Luo spoke indifferently, his demeanor suggesting that ten billion was nothing much to him.

Che Taiming breathed heavily, his face darkening as he looked at Ye Luo and, ultimately, reluctantly made the call to his father.

When Che Youguo, the president of Che Corporation, learned of the situation, he flew into a rage.

”My father wants you to take the call.”

Che Taiming handed the phone to Ye Luo.

”Hello?” Ye Luo asked casually.

Che Youguo erupted into Goryeo curses.

”Speak human!” Ye Luo retorted bluntly.

”Bastard!”

On the other end, Che Youguo swore fiercely, a man who commanded respect throughout Goryeo, unaccustomed to being spoken to in this manner.

”Are you the one who’s responsible for my youngest son’s death?”

”It’s your son’s driving skills that were lacking, not my concern.”

”I don’t care. Release my son right now, or I swear you’ll regret it,” Che Youguo shouted gravely.

”Once the money is in the account, I’ll naturally release him. You need not threaten me. If you don’t pay, then you better start preparing another coffin for your son,” Ye Luo said coldly and imperiously.

Far away in the Goryeo Kingdom, Che Youguo’s face turned an iron shade of blue, and he finally spat out, ”Fine, I’ll transfer the billion over right away. If you dare to harm my son, I swear I’ll make you wish you were dead.”

With a smack, Che Youguo hurled the phone in his hand violently away, his face full of rage.

”Damn it, I will make sure you die.”

Meanwhile, in Zhonghai, inside the Bentley, Ye Luo tossed the phone directly to Che Taiming.

”Give me an account number!”

Taking the phone, Che Taiming looked at Ye Luo, who reported the account number of the black card without hesitation.

Ten minutes later, Che Taiming spoke up, ”The money has been transferred.”

Ye Luo took out his phone and made a call to Luo Jingxuan.

”Is something the matter?”

”Check if there’s an extra billion in that black card.”

”What?” Luo Jingxuan was once again shocked by Ye Luo, and she immediately proceeded to check.

When Luo Jingxuan saw that the black card’s account had an additional billion, her face turned an unimaginable shade, and her pupils dilated drastically.

”It’s there. What’s this billion about?”

”We’ll talk about it when I get home.”

Ye Luo hung up the phone, his gaze shifting to Che Taiming, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

”Not bad, so we’re good now? Everyone profits in peace, don’t they?”

”You can leave now,” Che Taiming said darkly.

”There’s one more thing, swallow this pill.”

Ye Luo took a dark and shiny pill from his pocket and handed it to Che Taiming.

”What is this?”

”Poison.”

”What? Poison? You...”

Che Taiming’s face changed drastically, a furious expression fixed upon Ye Luo.

”Don’t get so worked up. Though you’ve given me a billion, I know you wealthy folks love post-event vengeance. So, to avoid any future occurrences, you must swallow this pill. This poison will take a year to take effect. If I am still unharmed after a year, you can come to me for the antidote. And other than me, no one can counteract this poison.”

Hearing Ye Luo’s words, Che Taiming felt a surge of rage, a sensation of impending explosion, his breathing grew rapid, and his eyes flickered with an angry glow as he stared at Ye Luo.

”Don’t worry, I can assure you that Che Corporation will not do anything to you,” Che Taiming said.

”I have no confidence in the promises of you rich people.”

As he spoke, Ye Luo grabbed Che Taiming’s chin, forced his mouth open, and threw the pill in, then covered his mouth. With a pat on the back, Che Taiming made a gurgling sound as he swallowed the pill; his face turned colors instantly, continuously retching, trying to vomit it out.

”All done, everything is resolved perfectly. Goodbye.”

Ye Luo smiled, got out of the car, and walked away under the gaze of the onlookers.

”Young master, are you alright?”

A middle-aged man looked at Che Taiming with a worried expression.

”Bastard!”

Che Taiming punched the car door fiercely, his face looking extremely grim, his eyes flashing with a cold and harsh light.
