One-Eyed Monster

Kuyi Tulan did ponder this matter for a moment, but he always possessed the memory of the Shadow Ghost, and now he’s integrating with the Shadow Ghost better and better, gradually reaching a level of empathy.

When your enemy is completely unknown, your fear reaches its peak, which leaves you helpless and instantly robs you of all your fighting strength. However, when you understand your enemy, they can’t take you down easily.

The saying ”know yourself and know your enemy, and you’ll never be defeated in a hundred battles” roughly embodies this idea.

When you understand your enemy, while seeing yourself clearly, there’s still a chance to negotiate a bit with a powerful enemy. But if you know nothing about your enemy, everything becomes extremely difficult, and you might be instantly defeated by the opponent.

This principle equally applies to the Wensi Empire and the Kayne Empire.

It’s evident the Wensi Empire and the Mantai Empire don’t understand Soul Devourers at all, so encountering such an enemy leaves them completely bewildered.

As for the Kayne Empire, their intelligence on Soul Devourers was conveyed timely, so when the Soul Devourers’ main forces were preparing for an all-out attack, they were prepared.

This is why the Kayne Empire could block the Soul Devourers, while the Wensi Empire fell so quickly.

Everything boils down to the difference between being familiar and unfamiliar.

Facing the unknown and facing the known are two entirely different concepts.

Kuyi Tulan now seems to understand why the Kayne Realm wasn’t completely conquered by Soul Devourers; part of the credit goes to him. Having prematurely come into contact with the Dark Wizard Reed, his understanding of Dark Arts reached a certain level, which later enabled him to gain some insights into the Shadow Ghost.

Kuyi Tulan feels that this is also a kind of reward for him, his efforts weren’t completely in vain.

It was he who thwarted the defeat of the entire Soul Devourer army in the Kayne Realm, but now he must lead the Soul Devourer army to conquer the Kayne Realm...

Things said like this seem a bit convoluted, but the facts are as such.

Sitting on the throne of the Wensi Empire, he quietly reminisces over all this, seemingly recalling many interesting things.

However, these interesting things are fleeting, not worth dwelling on.

Kuyi Tulan now sees a clear pattern in everything, knowing the next steps since he now considers himself to be a conqueror, not a schemer.

There’s nothing worth hiding anymore.

When the Gaoju Family knelt before him, it proclaimed who he was: he was the Shadow Ghost, a leader of the Soul Devourers, a lodestar for all Soul Devourers. He would lead these Soul Devourers to occupy the Spirit World, establishing his own order in a world where one could live forever!

He intends to dominate everything.

This is also the wish of the Shadow Ghost...

Kuyi Tulan’s ambition is beyond what can be described by ordinary language because in this world many things have already become unrecognizable.

The Wensi Empire is no longer the Wensi Empire. The desire for power has led many to fall into a quagmire. Even the sinister Vero People couldn’t defeat the Soul Devourers in the power struggle. Compared to Soul Devourers, they are indeed child’s play. And those barbaric Mantai People never understood why Wind Chasers could challenge Grand Lords. Such actions, akin to hitting a rock with an egg, were never really fathomed, yet it happened in Mantai, causing Mantai’s collapse into chaos.

The Kayne Realm is still under the rule of King Kayne, but is plagued by internal and external troubles, unable to sustain!

These are all contingency plans.

The Shadow Ghost was early prepared with a backup plan.

Now he wants to use the forces of the other two larger Empires to constrain the Kayne Empire. He wants to slowly nibble away at the Kayne Empire, then dominate the whole world, and afterward attack the Spirit World.

The Spirit World is in another corner, where spirits perpetually awaken and fall asleep in this manner.

Humans brought to that corner a thing called emotion, making the originally simple awaken-sleep world complicated. This complexity gradually influenced those spirits, causing entities like the Shadow Ghost to emerge.

Now this Shadow Ghost seeks to devour everything, making the human world bow beneath his feet...

Such is a desire for conquest, a desire hard to articulate, and difficult to comprehend what forces drive them down this path.

No one can quite figure out the reason, but it just happened.

Now the Wensi Empire has already fallen into the hands of the Shadow Ghost, making everything here quite special.

Kuyi Tulan now seemingly always bears a smile on his lips, perhaps envisioning a future, a future he has long awaited.

He must press the entire army of the Wensi Empire forward, ensuring the Kayne Empire cannot defend itself, this is his first step, a small step in conquering the entire world!

Kuyi Tulan looks at the opulent palace, and suddenly feels quite desolate.

These apparent things are just comforting illusions; in fact, he remains lonely and possesses nothing.

Even under such circumstances, where power surpasses everything making anything easily obtainable, he still feels something is lacking.

But what exactly is missing?

His thoughts circle around it, and he still cannot think of anything else.

He can only think of one thing, and that is hatred.

This hatred is not some old grudge, as past enemies are trivial before him; he hates those two youths,

two youths who disrupted his entire plan.

One youth is already in his clutches, but he cannot do anything about this child because the blue-skinned kid possesses unpredictable energy. And the other youth, the one who fled with Xiso, is even more detestable.

Xiso carries the power he seeks, and this guy took him away, which is unforgivable.

Kuyi Tulan’s hatred arises from within, like a flame gradually burning, growing ever fiercer.

He must ensure these two youths face due punishment...

And that Luona from the Kayne Empire, outwardly cooperating with him, but in reality completely playing him — such behavior is unforgivable, he will definitely handle this person properly.

Kuyi Tulan now sits on this throne, experiencing the feeling of the Shadow Ghost, these two entities merging and responding to each other, gradually blurring the lines between them...

Within you is me, within me is you, this is the highest realm!
