Chapter 2406: Greed: Golden Army II

[You have summoned a divine spark of the Divine Beast Vermillion Bird.]

Adrian understood why the Vermillion Bird itself did not come but a divine spark is enough to deal significant damage to the enemy. Numerous creatures were summoned by Adrian in order to deal with the enemy on both sides. Emperor Wu attacked from below while the elemental dragons attacked from the sides. The divine spark of the Vermillion Bird that has its essence attacked at the front.

The Primordial Beast of Greed has no choice but to use much of its resources in order to tank the hit. A fierce explosion resulted in all of the attacks hitting one location. The Primordial Beast of Greed came out unscathed though as it has descended back into the ground without any notable damage on its body.

The Primordial Beast of Greed felt its resources drying up by the second as it not only used its own funds for its barrier but also in the continuous resurrection of the Golden Army that it has summoned. The Golden Army is not an infinitely respawning army because of mana but it is an unkillable army because of money. As long as the Primordial Beast of Greed could pay for the revival of the golden army then they would execute the command given to them.

The Primordial Beast of Greed now had half of its funds down the drain, and it is getting lower by the second. The golden army might be powerful, but they have yet to truly kill any of the forces that the Murim Alliance have brought. The reason why the Immortals have yet to fall is due to the fact of one individual that is carrying this battlefield with his heals.

Levin Cloudʼs precise use of healing magic made it impossible for the Immortals to sustain heavy damage. Immortals themselves are beings that rely heavily on cultivation which meant that their bodies are extremely solid. The only times they can be injured are when they make a mistake, a sneak attack, or when they get overpowered. The golden army is not powerful, but they do have quantity which can overpower even an Immortal.

Levin Cloud will just heal a specific Immortal that is heavily injured, and the latter would just save themselves. In fact, Levin Cloud liked how the Immortals are self-aware that there is no one that will save them but themselves. If this were the central continent, then he would have need others to haul the heavy butts of knights away from the battlefield even if they were healed.

Levin Cloud also dealt healing in a very natural way that perfectly utilized the ley lines of the eastern continent. Unlike the other continents where the ley lines are incredibly hidden and cannot be easily tapped into, the ley lines of the eastern continent are very active as long as one has access to use them. He had free reign when it comes to the ley line in the eastern continent as he has restored one in this place.

Levin Cloud would also use the ley lines to detect any injured person which made him almost have clear vision across the entire battlefield. The area might be closed off by a formation, but it seems that the ley lines are always present as it is also enclosed inside of it. Levin Cloud would use the ley lines to deliver his healing spell which would create an eruption of holy power to the location of the injured Immortal.

”Why did I not try this earlier? I could have escaped if I used the ley lines but that would also mean leaving them.” Levin Cloud stated as he looked at his friends.

”Kill that pesky human!” The Primordial Beast of Greed commanded as he looked fiercely at Levin Cloud.

”Where are you looking at, froggy!” Adrian stated as he now has activated the skill Galactic Titan.

Adrian wielded the sword and grew twice his size even if the Primordial Beast of Greed is still quite large compared to him. The sword struck the barrier of the Primordial Beast of Greed but there were still no signs of it breaking. Emperor Wu recovered from the attack earlier and tried plunging his sword against the barrier again but to no avail.

”Even with the added bonus of sword-based attacks, it still cannot pierce.” Adrian stated.

”Pierce, you say?” Emperor Wu stated as he looked at Adrian.

”You cannot destroy my barriers. Even if you bring back all the powerful emperor existences in this continent, you will never be able to defeat me.” The Primordial Beast of Greed proudly declared.

”Is that a challenge, beast?” Emperor Wu stated as his eyes burned with passion.

When he was alive, Emperor Wu was a fierce tactician, poet, and great warlord. He was also a man that is always burning with passion with the mindset of always rising to adversity. He also does not stop until he reaches his goal, and the Primordial Beast of Greed suddenly triggered a goal for Emperor Wu.

”I will rise up to your challenge beast! A barrier should always be pierced as the Mediator said! Come to me, Dao of the Sword! This emperor has summoned you to defeat my enemy!” Emperor Wu shouted as he rose to the skies and the mystical scroll that was flying beside him suddenly unfurled even further.

Emperor Wu suddenly got coated with a supreme sword aura that was mightier than the Sword Saint. The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong could only look at the powerful sword aura that was sharper than his. Something inside of the Sword Saint Namgung Myeongʼs mind that blocked him suddenly crumbled as he attained a clue to enlightenment. The Sword Saint Namgung Myeong looked at the demon that summoned Emperor Wu and did a slight bow to him as Adrian unknowingly became a benefactor of the Murim Alliance Leader.

”My sword can pierce through the heavens!” Emperor Wu boldly stated which would typically anger the heavens above, but he was already dead… so he had no qualms of saying that loudly.

”Your toothpick will never be able to pierce me!” The Primordial Beast of Greed shouted as it released gold coin projectiles to hit Emperor Wu, but Adrian switched his weapon to his mirror and redirected the coins back to the enemy.

”Foolish demon, even with the borrowed power of the Vermillion Bird, you cannot hope to defeat me! Why do you think a dead person can!” The Primordial Beast of Greed shouted as it continued releasing gold coins towards Emperor Wu as it actually is panicking.

The Primordial Beast of Greed did not want to show it, but it felt threatened by the attack that Emperor Wu is charging. An instinct of fear that was never there before has bloomed for the Primordial Beast of Greed. An instinct that was created because of its missing eye and the pain it felt being burned by the nether flames. It did not want to admit it, but the Primordial Beast of Greed felt the danger from Emperor Wu.

Emperor Wuʼs sword took all of the sword energy that his mystical scroll released. The sword suddenly looked like it was emitting some sort of light but that is actually condensed sword aura. Sword aura so compacted that merely touching it will slice your hand off. Emperor Wu casually waved his sword and all the golden monsters that came near him became sliced into pieces.

”An assist would be appreciated, mediator.” Emperor Wu stated, and Adrian nodded.

Vines and then chains suddenly came out of the ground as all of them grasped at the Primordial Beast of Greed. The vines and chains were not able to touch the Primordial Beast of Greed as the barrier prevented even those from getting near its body. Still, the barrier was not off limits of being rooted in place as the chains and vines grasped at the barrier itself to prevent the Primordial Beast of Greed from moving.

”Aha! As expected of the mediator! Your aid is topnotch! Come, beast! Let us see if my sword cannot pierce you! If it does not, then I will kill myself again!” Emperor Wu boldly declared as he prepared a stance and then proceeded to thrust his sword forwards to the direction of the Primordial Beast of Greed.

The sword thrust looked ordinary except those that are sensitive to aura or energy. Adrian felt it and even saw the energy flow that was released in an instant as soon as Emperor Wu performed the thrust. Adrian could vividly see a sharp sword aura extend all its way across the air and then slammed directly to the barrier of the Primordial Beast of Greed.

The barrier of the Primordial Beast of Greed suddenly created a loud sound as something hard hit it. A violent sword energy so powerful that it created a shockwave when it directly hit the barrier of the enemy. The Primordial Beast of Greed snicked though as the violent sword aura was unable to destroy its barrier. The smile did not last long though as a thin sliver of aura pierced through the barrier and directly hit the throat of the Primordial Beast of Greed.
