New Age Of Summoners

1551 Death of a Contracted Spirit Beast

ʼDing,

The host has failed in his refinement and gained 1 experience point. (1/ 1000000).

Ajax received a system notification that surprised him and thought, ʼIs it a progress bar for me to become a king grade alchemist?ʼ

Ajax raised his brows by looking at the one million experience points in front of him.

It was not his first time seeing the progress bad when refining the pills because he had used the same method to increase his alchemist rank from rank 1 to 6.

So, he knew how it works.

ʼEven if the pill refinement ends up in failure, I will get one experience point; however, it was nowhere near enough to become a King grade alchemist.ʼ

He requires one million experience points and had to repeat the process 999999 times to become a King grade alchemist just from the pill failures.

However, it would be a tedious process, and Ajax would easily get physically and mentally tired while refining the pills.

He needs decades to become a King realm alchemist if he uses the pill failures, and Ajax didnʼt want that.

ʼI wonder how many experience points I will get for a successful pill refinement.ʼ

Ajax stopped thinking about the pill failures as he returned to the pill refining while wondering about the experience points he could receive from a successful refinement.

In another corner of the Primordial Orcsʼ tribe,

ʼClinkʼ

ʼClangʼ

The young dwarf, Rurbeak, had already settled inside the Primordial Orcsʼ tribe with his portable weapon refining workshop.

After settling, he holed himself in his workshop with the ton of materials he brought from outside and started refining.

Unlike Ajax, he was having quite fruitful days as he refined legend-grade weapons after another.

ʼPhew…finally, I completed my second successful weapon refinement.ʼ

Looking at the low-level legend-grade sword in front of him, Rurbeak fell to the ground as he heaved a sigh of relief.

From the last month to till now, Rurbeak completed three weapon refinements. Each took him nine days.

Among the three weapon refinements, his first and third weapon refinements were successful, whereas he failed in the second weapon refinement.

Even though he was already capable of refining low-level legend-grade weapons, Rurbeak wants to increase his success rate to the next level.

ʼI will start refining the mid-level legend grade weapon when I have at least a 90 percent success rate.ʼ

Even though Rurbeak was young, he had a clear goal and target as he wanted to increase his success rate because whether it was an alchemist, weaponsmith, or formation master, everyoneʼs value will be determined by their success rate.

ʼItʼs break time.ʼ

Whether it was a successful refinement or a failed refinement, Rurbeak would take a mandatory break for one day where he would take complete rest for half a day.

As for the remaining half a day, he would think about his weapon refinement.

If it was a failed refinement, he would try to find where he made a mistake; if it was a successful refinement, he would think of a way to decrease the duration of the refinement.

ʼSnore~ʼ

Rurbeak had a strict timetable for himself, and without wasting any time, he slept in a bed in his workshop and started snoring already.

In one of the underground caves,

Siora settled in an underground cave where she was getting the rich world essence required for her cultivation.

Even though her cultivation was not fast, it was not slow either. However, if she cultivates on the floating island for seven years without any external help, he would at least break through three minor realms.

Moreover, if she was lucky, she might even break through five minor realms and become a level 8 Emperor realm cultivator.

Of course, Siora was not planning to cultivate her entire time on the floating island inside this underground cave.

ʼI will leave this cave after I become a level 4 emperor realm cultivator.ʼ

She set a small target for herself before leaving the underground and exploring the floating island since she didnʼt want to miss the treasures stored in the floating island.

...

ʼDing,

The host has failed in his refinement and gained 1 experience point. (2/ 1000000).

ʼDing,

The host has failed…

ʼDing,

No matter how focused and careful Ajax was, his pill refining didnʼt go as he expected.

ʼI will stop here for today.

After ten consecutive pill refinement failures, Ajax decided to call it a day and started pondering about the mistakes he learned from the 10 failed pill refinements.

ʼNow, I know that I should not merge the separated essence from the three ingredients at a single time. Instead, I should first merge the Harpy featherʼs essence and the baleful waterʼs essence.ʼ

ʼAfter that, I can merge with the essence of the essence fruit.ʼ

Ajax continued muttering and noted all the things he learned during his ten failed pill refinements.

ʼLetʼs continue.ʼ

Unlike Rurbeak, Ajax didnʼt take long breaks; instead, he only took one hour before resuming his pill refinements.

The reasons for Ajaxʼs short breaks were because pill refinements consume less soul power compared to weapon refinement. Moreover, Ajaxʼs soul was much stronger and more powerful than Rurbeak.

Therefore, Ajax didnʼt take long breaks and repeated his pill refinements.

ʼDing,

The host has failed in his refinement and gained 1 experience point. (11/ 1000000).

Ajax was no longer surprised by the pill refinement failures; instead, he started taking note of all the mistakes he made during the process.

After every 10 pill refinement attempts, he would definitely take a break and ponder about his mistakes and try to improve his refinement method.

…..

Time continued to pass, and one year passed by since Ajax and Siora entered the Floating Island.

ʼDing,

The host has failed in his refinement and gained 1 experience point. (4555/ 1000000).

ʼDing,

The host has failed in his refinement and gained 1 experience point. (4556/ 1000000).

ʼDing,

The host has successfully refined 10 King grade pills and gained 1000 x 10 experience points. (14556/ 1000000).

ʼFinally….I did it. I successfully refined the King grade pills.ʼ

Ajax was frustrated and was about to stop pill refining for a while before resuming; however, to his surprise, he was finally able to refine them.

ʼAfter 4556 pill refinement failures, I could do it.ʼ

No matter how patient and determined Ajax was, after failing the pill refinements for almost a year, he wanted to take a break.

Since it was a mandatory requirement for Ajax to have a King grade side profession like Alchemist, Weapon refiner or Formation master, Ajax couldnʼt give up just because he was unable to refine the King grade pills.

Nevertheless, he thought taking a break for a month or two before refining the pills again might increase his success rate.

However, who would have thought that he could finally refine his first batch of King-grade pills?

ʼSo, it gives 1000 experience points per pill. Nice.ʼ

Looking at the 10 ugly, uneven grey-coloured pills in his hands, Ajax silently thought in his head.

Even though they were ugly and not shaped properly, Ajax didnʼt care much about them; instead, he focused on the experience points that he received from his successful pill refinement.

ʼSince I can refine 10 pills in a batch in my first attempt, I can safely say that I will get 10000 experience points per successful refinement.ʼ

Soon, Ajax started doing some calculations, and his previous excitement disappeared into thin air.

He assumed that he would get only 10000 experience points for every successful pill refinement, and even with that, he needed around 10000 successful pill refinements to fill the progress bar completely to become a King grade alchemist.

Moreover, since he was just a newbie that got lucky in refining his first batch of king-grade pills, his success rate would be very low.

So, he needed to refine at least 50000 times to completely fill the progress bar to become a King grade alchemist.

ʼI will take a break after figuring out my success rate.ʼ

Since he successfully made his first batch of pills, Ajax wanted to strike the iron while it was still hot and wanted to figure out his success rate.

As for the pills he refined, Ajax didnʼt risk his life by consuming them and threw them into his inner world to let inner world absorb them.

Soon, he started refining the essence recovery pills and as he expected, his pill refinements ended up in a failure.

Occasionally, his pill refinements were successful; however, compared to the failed pill refinements, they were very low.

ʼDing,

The host has failed in his refinement and gained 1 experience point.

ʼDing,

The host has successfully refined 10 King grade pills and gained 1000 x 10 experience points.

After 100 pill refinements, Ajax was mentally exhausted as he rested his back and looked at the ceiling while thinking about his pill refinements.

ʼEven though the success rate is much higher than I thought, the pills I refined remained the same. The number of the pills and the appearance of the pill….there is no change in them.ʼ

Ajax silently thought to himself while looking at the ceiling.

Among the 100 pill refinements, Ajax was successful in 15 pill refinements and failed in the remaining 85 pill refinements.

Ajax was satisfied with the success rate; however, the pillsʼ number and ugly appearance remained the same, making Ajax a little disappointed.

ʼMaster, we need help.ʼ

Suddenly, a call for help resounded in Ajaxʼs head; however, suddenly, he felt the connection with Snow disappear.

ʼDing,

The hostʼs contracted spirit beast has died.
