Chapter 489: As Long as There Are Concerns, It’s Not Impeccable

”Konoha... it’s been a long time. Seeing it again, it seems the same as always.”

Kenichi stood on the cliff, gazing at Konoha in the distance, a trace of nostalgia in his eyes.

After all, this was where Kenichi had once lived and grown up.

But those memories were not particularly pleasant. In fact, to Kenichi, some of them made his mood rather complicated.

After all, he had once been nothing more than a small orphan in this vast Ninja Village, living day to day without knowing whether he would have his next meal.

It was not until Orochimaru happened to notice him and chose him as an assistant that he had truly climbed out of hell.

Kenichi quietly looked at the Ninja Village before him.

The Shinobi World’s system was distorted.

Ninja had internal hierarchies, but between ninja and ordinary people, there was an almost insurmountable chasm.

In some ways, ninja and ordinary people were like two different species. If it were taken to a more extreme degree, even reproductive isolation might not be impossible.

Fortunately, although ninja were extraordinary, their physical structure was still the same as ordinary people.

But for ordinary people, the Shinobi World was undoubtedly hell.

Kenichi shook his head.

The Shinobi World’s system was interesting, but discussing it in detail would take too much time, so he had no intention of continuing that line of thought.

Instead, he jumped down from the cliff and walked toward Konoha.

He remembered that those people from Kumogakure seemed to be stationed next to Konoha.

Or were they somewhere else?

He could not quite recall.

After all, Kenichi had not expected the Ninja Villages of the Shinobi World to surrender so quickly.

Now Iwagakure had surrendered, and although there was no official news from Sunagakure, based on the increasing number of parasites there, Kenichi knew that Sunagakure was also already in his grasp.

Before long, Kenichi arrived at the edge of a town.

As soon as he arrived, he noticed some peculiarities here.

After all, the ninja here were all very burly. Some were almost excessively so.

That made Kenichi instantly realize that he must have arrived at Kumogakure’s encampment.

Just as he was wondering whether to ask where the Fourth Raikage, A, was, he saw an acquaintance.

Kakashi Hatake.

The other party also noticed him.

Beside Kakashi were several Konoha ninja, along with two old people.

Kenichi raised an eyebrow.

These two seemed to be Konoha’s Elder Council, namely Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado.

What were they doing here?

”Kakashi, what’s wrong?”

Homura looked at Kakashi.

The other party had suddenly stopped.

Then Homura followed Kakashi’s gaze and saw a person whose face had appeared on the intelligence reports they had seen before.

Soon, Homura connected the face of the person before him with a name.

Amamiya Kenichi.

Homura’s pupils contracted, and Koharu beside him also noticed Kenichi’s presence.

This great enemy of Konoha now stood before them, a half-smile in his eyes.

Koharu gritted her teeth, then pushed aside the guards in front of her and quickly walked over.

”Amamiya... Lord Amamiya Kenichi, our Konoha surrenders to the Land of Flame.”

Koharu spoke respectfully, lowering her head.

Kenichi silently glanced at Koharu before him, then swept his gaze across the Konoha ninja in front of him.

Under his gaze, most of the ninja lowered their heads respectfully toward him.

Only Kakashi and another ANBU did not bow.

Even Homura lowered his head at this moment, completely not daring to meet Kenichi’s eyes.

”Surrender? Is this Konoha’s will, the Daimyo of the Land of Fire’s will, or Kumogakure’s will?”

Kenichi looked around.

The surrounding Kumogakure ninja had already noticed that something was wrong here.

The Kumogakure ninja who had been following Homura and the others were now glaring at him furiously.

Kenichi asked with a half-smile.

”Both Konoha and the Land of Fire are willing to surrender to you, my lord. As for Kumogakure... they are still discussing.”

Koharu spoke respectfully, though her expression showed some hesitation when she mentioned Kumogakure.

Kenichi nodded.

It was just as he had thought.

Konoha was already planning to surrender.

Otherwise, Tsunade would not have come over earlier and fought him in such a suicidal manner.

What a pity.

Kenichi looked at the two elders before him.

They were very old and did not have much strength, but they had a certain influence over all of Konoha.

Although this influence had been gained through the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, it had to be admitted that these two old fellows could be considered Konoha’s politicians.

But for Kenichi, what he needed least were politicians.

How good would it have been if Jiraiya and Tsunade were standing before him right now?

If these two elders had died in battle, Kenichi would have thought highly of them.

But clearly, these two old immortals did not have that spirit.

Facing Kenichi’s might, these two old fellows chose to surrender at lightning speed.

”So what’s the situation with Tsunade? She even ran to the old Kumogakure site to attack me earlier.”

Kenichi playfully scrutinized the two elders before him.

More and more Kumogakure ninja gathered around, glaring at Kenichi with bloodshot eyes and gnashing their teeth.

If looks could kill, Kenichi would probably have been sliced into a thousand pieces by now.

But Kenichi completely ignored these angry Kumogakure ninja.

Reform inevitably came with bloodshed and pain.

But only in this way could this world be revitalized.

”Tsunade had already resigned as Hokage before that.”

Koharu hesitated, then chose to tell the truth.

Kenichi nodded when he heard this.

Then he ignored the respectful group of ninja and walked toward Kakashi with a smile.

Kakashi tightly clenched his fists, trembling as he looked at Kenichi.

”Kakashi, long time no see.”

Kenichi smiled and extended his hand to embrace Kakashi.

Kakashi did not move.

He did not know how to face Kenichi now.

Kenichi did not say anything either. He only smiled and told Kakashi that they should meet up for barbecue next time.

Then his gaze fell on the other ninja who had not lowered his head.

The other party gritted his teeth, glaring angrily at Kenichi.

Kenichi narrowed his eyes.

This guy seemed to have a very strong opinion of him.

”You seem to hate me very much?”

Kenichi pressed a hand onto the ninja’s shoulder with a half-smile.

The ninja’s heavy breathing could be heard even from a distance, and his bloodshot eyes seemed to be roaring, filled with killing intent toward Kenichi.

The other party did not speak.

He only glared furiously at Kenichi.

”Lord Amamiya, his brother was in the previous war...”

Homura spoke softly.

At this point, Kenichi understood.

It was another case of hatred born from war.

There was nothing Kenichi could do about such matters.

War meant death.

And death meant the continuation of hatred.

This was why, as the number of wars increased, the hatred between two factions would gradually grow to an indelible degree.

Unless war disappeared over time, and then a long period of peace washed away that pain, only then could the vortex of hatred dissipate.

But that would take a very long time.

Perhaps even centuries.

In order to revolutionize this world, Kenichi had inevitably stained his hands with blood.

He also knew that not everyone was convinced by him.

Fortunately, this was when the parasites came into play.

”It’s fine, it’s fine. Deaths in war are unavoidable.”

Kenichi smiled, patting the ninja’s shoulder.

He injected parasite eggs into the ninja’s bloodstream, doing it in front of everyone.

But neither Koharu nor Homura spoke, as if they had seen nothing.

And that ninja was extremely unwilling.

He gritted his teeth, the hatred in his eyes becoming even more obvious.

”Amamiya Kenichi! How dare you come alone!”

A furious voice rang out.

The Fourth Raikage, A, covered in bandages, walked over.

He glared angrily at Kenichi.

Beside A were Darui and Killer Bee.

Kenichi glanced at the Fourth Raikage.

”Raikage, the Land of Lightning is gone, and Kumogakure is gone. What do you plan to do?”

Kenichi asked calmly, his tone very gentle.

”You bastard, I...”

A looked indignantly at Kenichi, lightning flickering all over his body.

A was already showing signs of entering battle mode.

”Let me state this beforehand. You only have one chance to respond. No matter how you answer, I will not give Kumogakure a second chance.”

Kenichi raised a finger, successfully interrupting A’s rage.

Killer Bee and Darui were somewhat indignant, but looking at the Konoha ninja standing beside Kenichi, they felt a little powerless.

A fell silent.

He did not speak.

He only frowned as he looked at Kenichi.

He knew Kenichi’s strength.

So powerful that it was incomprehensible.

Earlier, nearly five Kage had struggled to deal with him.

And now, it was only himself and...

No.

It was only himself and Killer Bee.

In this situation, how could he deal with Kenichi?

He also understood Kenichi’s words.

This was forcing him to make a choice.

Currently, in the entire Shinobi World, only Kumogakure had not surrendered.

Konoha, Iwagakure, and Sunagakure had all submitted to Kenichi.

He had even been discussing this matter with Konoha’s Elder Council just now, arguing for a long time.

Unexpectedly, in the blink of an eye, he had to make a choice.

Watching the struggling A, Kenichi yawned.

Then he took out his experimental log and flipped through the records, intending to see if there was anything he had overlooked.

He also wanted to see how he could quickly overcome the chakra energy problem, thereby bringing this world into a new era.

While Kenichi was engrossed in reading, A’s heart was in turmoil.

He was unwilling.

Kumogakure had been passed down for so many years.

Was it really going to be destroyed in his hands?

But the problem was, what use was his unwillingness?

His physical condition was deteriorating.

His injuries were severe and had not yet fully healed.

Facing Kenichi, facing the Land of Flame, A felt a sense of powerlessness.

He looked at the Kumogakure ninja beside him, then at Darui and Killer Bee.

They were all waiting for his decision as a Kage.

This made A even more distressed.

He had no idea what he should do.

Should he fight Kenichi to the death for the sake of his ninja way and revenge?

Then what about the other people in Kumogakure?

Many people had already died.

But if...

Just as A was trapped in turmoil, a person suddenly rushed toward Kenichi.

He held a kunai in his hand, his eyes filled with uncontrollable hatred, and charged out from the Konoha ANBU ranks.

The kunai was aimed at Kenichi’s back.

An opportunity!

A hesitated.

But then, that ninja was pinned to the ground by Kakashi, who had moved with him.

The other ANBU swarmed forward and restrained the fool who had tried to assassinate Kenichi.

A watched the angry ninja screaming, roaring, and cursing on the ground, and his soul trembled.

”Does he have any other family members in the village?”

Kenichi flipped through the experimental records in his hand, then casually asked.

”...Yes. He has a sister-in-law and a niece, and Ryuichi is also married with two children.”

The ANBU captain leading the team knelt on one knee, cold sweat continuously dripping onto the ground.

Ryuichi, that idiot!

So what if you lost your brother?

Wasn’t taking care of your brother’s wife and niece more important?

Now, not only had he failed to avenge his brother, but he had also dragged his own wife and children into it.

And the ninja named Ryuichi seemed to understand Kenichi’s implied meaning.

The anger in his eyes faded, replaced by panic.

He stammered and trembled, as if wanting to say something, but he did not know what to say.

”Attempted assassination of a Kage. How is that handled in Konoha?”

Kenichi did not even lift his head.

He still asked so casually.

”...Death penalty. After family members are reviewed...”

The captain hesitated, then whispered.

”Kill them all.”

Kenichi’s cold voice made the captain and the ninja present tremble.

The ninja who had lost his mind due to anger even knelt on the ground, constantly begging Kenichi to spare his family and his brother’s family.

The captain took a deep breath.

Then, with one slash, the ninja went still.

”It’s your turn to make a choice.”

Kenichi looked up, his icy gaze fixed on the Fourth Raikage, A.
