Chapter 462: Chapter 462: The Finale of War

Chapter 462: The Finale of War

”What in the world is Kenichi doing?”

Obito sprinted through the forest, biting his finger in thought.

He truly could not understand the meaning behind Kenichi’s actions.

”Where the sun sets, where one can cup the sun.”

This riddle was not difficult to guess.

In fact, anyone with a brain could figure it out.

After all, normally, a person could not cup the sun in their hands. But what if the sun was reflected in water?

Then cupping the water would be equivalent to cupping the sun.

The specific location had even been mentioned.

Where the sun fell.

That meant west of the Land of Flame’s capital.

Only that place fit the conditions on the note.

As for Rin’s socks...

Obito had also taken them.

But he had done so purely out of concern.

He was worried something might happen to Rin. What if those socks were needed later?

So Obito still chose to bring them with him.

What Obito could not understand was the meaning behind Kenichi’s actions.

”He should know that I care a lot about Rin, but that can also be seen from my previous behavior. So is he intentionally provoking me?”

Obito scratched his head, feeling that he had a little too much to think about at the moment.

”Could it be that Kenichi already knows my identity?”

A possibility that made Obito feel somewhat alarmed flashed through his mind.

But when he thought about it carefully, this possibility was indeed not small.

Obito’s movements slowed for a moment as he began to think.

If Kenichi had already known his identity before, then everything Kenichi had done seemed to have a reason.

This guy had been playing with him.

And every time, the timing had been perfect.

Kenichi would always do something to provoke him, such as desecrating Rin’s corpse, taking Rin’s arm, or now, directly resurrecting Rin and even embracing her in front of him.

Everything.

All of it.

It had been to enrage him.

But Obito could not understand one thing.

He had died in that battle.

Both Kakashi and his former sensei, Minato, believed that.

Even when Obito had stood before his former sensei, Minato had not recognized his true identity at all.

That had completely removed Obito’s inner guilt.

Since his sensei did not recognize him anyway, whatever he did no longer mattered.

Moreover, Obito had not exposed anything related to himself afterward.

He had not even touched his own grave.

During wartime, many people like him died without remains, leaving only cenotaphs behind.

Furthermore, Obito could not recall any trace of Kenichi in his past life.

Kenichi had been a complete stranger to him back then.

Someone he did not know at all.

There had been no reason for the other party to pay attention to him.

It had to be known that in order not to expose his identity, Obito knew his Sharingan was with Kakashi, yet he never thought of taking that eye back.

Kakashi had carried out so many missions, but Obito had never made a move.

That was precisely to avoid unnecessary suspicion and prevent the entire Eye of the Moon Plan from being jeopardized.

He had been cautious enough.

So how exactly had he been exposed?

Obito could not figure it out.

It had to be known that apart from Black Zetsu, Obito had never exposed his true appearance.

Even when he took Kisame as his subordinate, he had worn a mask.

No one had seen the face beneath that mask.

Not even Nagato.

”It can’t be Black Zetsu, can it?”

Obito scratched his head.

Only three people knew his identity.

Madara, who had been in the Pure Land.

Black Zetsu.

And himself.

He certainly was not the one who had exposed it, so the mole could only be Black Zetsu.

But Black Zetsu was the embodiment of Madara’s will.

How could it reveal his true identity?

That would not help the Eye of the Moon Plan at all.

”Wait. It can’t be that I’m the mole, can it?!”

Obito suddenly thought of another possibility.

He shook his head violently.

Impossible.

Absolutely impossible.

How could he expose his own secrets to Kenichi?

If such a thing had happened, Obito would definitely know something. But right now, he was completely unaware.

Obito’s expression was a little grim.

After ruling out every possibility he could think of, he now found himself completely unable to understand the meaning behind Kenichi’s actions.

—-

”Of course, it’s for fun.”

Kenichi looked at Mei in front of him.

She was panting, her eyes filled with intense, unyielding hatred.

”Just for that, you killed all the ninja of the Hidden Mist Village?!”

Mei was so enraged that she coughed up a mouthful of blood.

She clutched her stomach, where a gruesome wound bled continuously, soaking the earth.

”...”

Nagato stood nearby in silence.

”Of course not. I’m trying to unify the entire Shinobi World and make war disappear from this world forever.”

Kenichi narrowed his eyes.

His previous words had naturally been a lie.

He was not so bored that he would massacre a Ninja Village just for entertainment.

Would that not make him a pervert?

Moreover, he had been extremely wasteful.

The population of a Ninja Village.

What an enormous fortune.

If Kenichi had not nuked the Hidden Mist Village with an atomic bomb, then he would have even more confidence facing the four Ninja Villages now.

Perhaps he could even have directly led the four Kage and their ninja forces into battle together.

After all, with so many ninja and jonin from the Hidden Mist Village, if they had all awakened their Mangekyo Sharingan, even the Nine-Tails would have had to obediently kneel and sing ”Blue Bird.”

One Mangekyo genjutsu per person.

Who could withstand that?

Then he could induce the awakening of Kotoamatsukami and directly implant loyalty to him into the subconscious of the four Kage.

After that, he would simply wait to reap the rewards.

”War...”

Mei’s eyes were somewhat unfocused.

As a ninja, she naturally knew how difficult and idealistic it was to make war completely disappear from this cursed Shinobi World.

Yet the madman in front of her was actually trying to do that.

It surprised Mei a little.

But only a little.

Although Mei herself felt that Kenichi’s idea was very idealistic, even if he was truly striving for that goal, why did the Hidden Mist Village have to be the first sacrifice?

Why could it not have been another Ninja Village?

Kenichi did not know Mei’s thoughts.

If he did, he would only sigh that hatred made people lose their minds.

Even if he had chosen another Ninja Village to detonate the nuclear bomb, then the one angry and resentful here right now might have been Onoki, A, or Tsunade instead.

People were always like this.

They never wanted misfortune to fall on themselves.

”You bastard!”

Mei gritted her teeth and tried to form hand seals.

But before she could, four Pain bodies descended from the air, each holding black receivers.

The black receivers pierced Mei’s body, sealing her chakra flow and leaving her humiliatingly sprawled on the ground.

Listening to the sounds around him, Kenichi did not delay.

He took an insect egg from the Pregnant One and forcibly hatched it with chakra.

The insect writhed continuously in Kenichi’s hand.

”There has never been a revolution in this world without bloodshed.”

Kenichi looked at Mei and spoke softly.

”The Hidden Mist Village just had bad luck, that’s all.”

Then he grabbed Mei’s hair, used a kunai to make a small cut at the back of her neck, and inserted the insect.

The insect writhed and quickly burrowed into Mei’s body.

”What did you put in my body?!”

Mei looked at Kenichi in horror.

She had also seen the insect in Kenichi’s hand, but she still could not quite accept it.

Such a large insect.

And this bastard had put it inside her neck?

”Take a deep breath. Pain is normal.”

Kenichi looked at Mei and spoke calmly.

Mei was a Kage.

Not just in the future either. The current Mei already possessed Kage-level combat power.

It would be a pity to let her die just like that.

It would be better to control Mei with an advanced parasite and, incidentally, conduct an experiment to see whether advanced parasites were effective against a powerhouse of Mei’s caliber.

Mei struggled in pain.

She could clearly feel something wriggling inside her body, which caused her immense suffering.

But her mouth had been stuffed with torn cloth from her own clothes, so even screaming was useless.

Soon, Mei stopped moving.

She lay silently on the ground, her eyes empty.

”Hmm...”

Kenichi closed his eyes and sensed it.

He could feel the parasite inside Mei’s body.

The parasite had already attached itself to Mei’s brainstem.

However, to avoid a situation like Suigetsu’s, Kenichi had the parasite prevent Mei from using ninjutsu like Hydrification.

That said, the parasite did not know the steps for performing such ninjutsu, so whether it would succeed was still a question that required observation.

”Did it succeed?”

Nagato had naturally seen how Kenichi implanted the parasite into Mei, but he did not care.

The only thing he wanted to do now was help Kenichi complete his plan.

To establish a new country in this world and make this world completely free of war.

”Yes.”

Kenichi nodded.

The parasite had already begun to affect Mei.

Although the current Mei could not immediately serve as combat power, she could be taken away for treatment.

Once her injuries healed and the parasite developed further, she would become useful.

Incidentally, he could also use her to test whether Kage-level powerhouses using ninjutsu would affect the parasite.

Kenichi thought that if his target were the Fourth Raikage, A, that madman, then the parasite would probably need to be very cautious.

After all, A loved using ninjutsu like Lightning Release Armor, which could easily affect the parasite.

”Take her down for treatment. These Kage are still useful.”

Kenichi told Nagato.

Nagato had no objections.

He immediately had one of the Pain bodies take the empty-eyed Mei away.

”I always feel like you’re very tense. What are you nervous about?”

Nagato multitasked, sending Mei away from the dense fog forest while looking at Kenichi and asking.

Nagato was somewhat confused.

Now, out of five Kage-level powerhouses, one was dead, one was about to become an ally, and three remained.

Among those three, Tsunade was missing an arm.

Winning this war was only a matter of time.

After dealing with Onoki, A, and Tsunade, Nagato felt that Kenichi’s Wood Golem alone would be enough to trouble other ninja for a very long time.

”Although our strength seems strong now, it’s only for now.”

Kenichi shrugged.

If Hokage were viewed as a novel, then it would be a power-leveling novel.

Invincible in one Chapter.

Enemies from the heavens in the next.

Naruto and Sasuke basically always encountered stronger enemies and fought their way upward.

Finally, when Kaguya appeared, Naruto could be considered complete.

But unexpectedly, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations was added later.

However, Naruto and Sasuke were already considered invincible by then, so what could be done?

Naturally, external enemies from the cosmos had to appear.

”Oh?”

Nagato looked at Kenichi, his tone carrying a hint of curiosity.

He always felt that Kenichi seemed to be hinting at something.

As if this man knew some very secret things.

But Kenichi did not say it, and Nagato did not know either.

”Let’s go. While they haven’t converged yet, let’s quickly...”

Kenichi shook his head.

Now was not the time to ponder those issues.

First, they had to resolve all four Kage.

But before Kenichi could finish speaking, several trees flew out.

Then three figures appeared before Nagato and Kenichi.

”Where’s Mei?”

Tsunade looked at Kenichi.

She was somewhat disheveled at the moment and did not look to be in good condition, while A and Onoki also had grim expressions.

”Dead.”

Kenichi smiled, then waved the cloth in his hand.

It was Mei’s clothing.

The air fell silent for a moment.

Tsunade and the others did not speak.

They did not roar.

They did not say anything about avenging Mei.

They simply charged forward.

But Kenichi felt sufficient pressure.

These Kage had become more serious.

And this time, they were truly cooperating.

”Fourth Raikage A, are you just letting go of the great revenge for your father’s death?”

Kenichi dodged A’s attack, then taunted him.

What answered him was only silent A and Onoki’s fierce assault.

Kenichi knew that at this moment, the battle had entered its final stage.

Either the three Kage would defeat him and Nagato, bringing about their final victory, or he and Nagato would crush the hopes of the three Kage and bring an end to the wars of the Shinobi World.

”Then let’s begin.”
