Chapter 183: Sasori, Do You Want the Doll to Be Realistic or Not?

Kenichi remembered a story he had read once.

A general was walking at night when he spotted a fallen tree blocking the road ahead. Curious, he went over and found words carved into the bark, but in the darkness he could not make them out. So he raised his torch, leaned in, and finally saw the writing clearly.

Then, in the next instant, he was gone.

”Hopefully this trick works on Obito too,” Kenichi muttered, rubbing his hands together. The more he thought about it, the more satisfied he became. ”That old guy only cares about Rin. He does not care about anything else.”

Obito’s obsession had never been subtle. From start to finish, his dream had been a world where Rin Nohara still existed, even if it meant poisoning his own teacher and dragging the entire world into a nightmare.

Calling Rin his absolute goddess would not be an exaggeration.

Under that premise, even if Obito noticed an unfamiliar puppet inside his Kamui space, his first reaction would not be to flee. He would freeze. He would stare. He would hesitate, even if only for a heartbeat.

And that was all Kenichi needed.

If Obito paused for even a moment, the thermobaric bomb beside the puppet would detonate and deliver a truly unforgettable surprise.

”Still...” Kenichi narrowed his eyes. ”If Obito is cautious, I should raise the success rate.”

A voice.

If the puppet could scream in Rin’s voice, something like, ”Obito, save me,” then Obito’s instincts would drag him straight into the trap.

With that thought, Kenichi immediately went to find Sasori.

When it came to puppets, Sasori was the professional. Realistic ones too, the kind that could make your skin crawl if you looked at them for too long.

Kenichi arrived in a hurry and found Sasori assembling something that looked like a robot, parts spread everywhere like a dismantled nightmare.

”Hm?” Sasori glanced up, then listened to Kenichi’s request. His expression turned strange. ”You want a puppet that looks almost exactly like a real person?”

”Yes.” Kenichi nodded without hesitation. ”A woman. I do not have a photo, but I can draw her. Her age is about...”

Sasori wiped sweat from his brow and waved a hand. ”That is fine. But do you want me to add some extra functions for you? This is not for combat, right?”

Kenichi blinked. ”Extra functions? What functions? It is not for combat.”

He genuinely did not understand.

This puppet did not need to fight. It only needed to make a sound. Ideally, it needed a recording function and an automatic playback function. That was it.

Sasori’s face remained serious as he continued, as if discussing weapon specifications.

”Then how do you want the tightness?” Sasori asked. ”Do you want it to feel more realistic, or less realistic?”

Kenichi stared at him, a single question mark forming in his mind so slowly it almost hurt.

Tightness?

Before Kenichi could respond, Sasori continued with the same calm tone.

”And if you want it softer, I can use the best materials. The texture can match a real one.”

Kenichi went blank.

Good heavens.

He never would have guessed that Sasori, with that stern face and those serious eyes, had this kind of hidden skill.

”No,” Kenichi said quickly, half laughing, half choking on his own breath. ”I just want a normal puppet. Add a recording function and an auto play function. That is enough.”

If Sasori kept going, Kenichi felt like he would be framed for crimes he had not committed.

Sasori paused, then coughed lightly, finally realizing he had misread the situation. ”Ah. Easy. Just give me a rough sketch.”

Kenichi immediately drew one.

For the body, he only sketched the general outline. Rin was still a girl, so there was not much to exaggerate. Still, Kenichi’s mind flashed to certain memories from his past life, and he quietly swallowed the rest of the thought.

In a big forest, there were all kinds of birds. People came in all shapes. That was normal.

As for Rin’s face, Kenichi remembered it clearly. Those people who posted daily videos about Obito and Rin’s so called love story had practically burned it into his brain. If anything, he remembered Rin’s face more clearly than Tsunade’s.

Of course, what stood out most about Tsunade was not her face.

It was her absurd chest.

Kenichi handed the sketch over. ”Can you do it?”

Sasori studied it for a moment, then lifted one finger.

”One day,” he said confidently. ”I will give you one that is almost indistinguishable from a real person unless someone looks closely.”

He sounded completely certain, and to him, it was not even a challenge. Without combat functions, this was basically leisure work.

”Great.” Kenichi patted Sasori’s shoulder, genuinely relieved. ”Thank you, Sasori.”

Now all he needed to do was finish the thermobaric bomb, then toss both the doll and the explosive into the Kamui space.

As for whether the Kamui space would be damaged, Kenichi was not worried. That dimension could swallow even the All Killing Ash Bones without showing any damage. If a thermobaric bomb destroyed it, then the Kamui space had simply been too weak.

”Obito,” Kenichi sneered, looking down at the materials in his hands. ”I was not even planning to deal with you yet.”

He had reasons for that.

Black Zetsu did not die, so the Eye of the Moon Plan would continue. Even if Obito fell, another puppet could rise to take his place. Water, fire, it did not matter.

And Madara, the real monster behind everything, was still resting in the Pure Land. If Black Zetsu noticed something wrong and forced a resurrection with Rinne Rebirth, the situation would become far more troublesome.

Kenichi had not intended to strike first.

But if Obito was already taking interest in him, then Kenichi had no reason to wait politely.

He had prepared pressurized explosives many times before, so the setup went smoothly. The only problem was compression itself. After a few tests, he discovered something simple.

Wet it, then press it.

It was crude, but effective.

Kenichi stared at the small thermobaric explosive in his hand and carefully infused it with Sage Mode fire attribute chakra.

Nothing happened.

No instability. No detonation. No reaction.

”It worked,” Kenichi said quietly, expression complicated. ”I did not think combining chakra and explosives could be this simple.”

He had spent too long treating the idea like an impossible wall. In the end, it was his own thinking that had been restrictive.

”But now comes the main event.”

He tried compressing it again using the same method. Almost immediately, he sensed the particles inside becoming more active, more unstable.

Kenichi paused, then a thought struck him.

”Water Release?”

He gathered water attribute chakra into his palm. As it seeped in, the explosive settled, returning to stability.

Kenichi remained cautious. He layered several defensive ninjutsu on himself before continuing.

Compression succeeded.

He had just created a thermobaric explosive containing both water and fire properties.

”Lightning Release?” Kenichi tested it.

A flash of white swallowed his vision.

Flames erupted, and the blast slammed him into the wall again, like the room wanted to turn him into a permanent decoration.

”Hiss...” Kenichi rubbed his lower back when the smoke cleared. This explosion was weaker than the previous one. At least the pain was not as intense.

”So adding Water Release lets me compress it a second time,” he muttered, ”but it weakens the overall power.”

Compression with water was feasible, but the water attribute chakra inside was now a problem that refused to disappear.

Kenichi frowned, then thought of another possibility.

”What if I use Fire Release chakra to heat it and evaporate the water while compressing?”

He tried it.

And got welded to the wall for a second time.

The fusion of water and fire chakra caused detonation, and the heat at close range instantly scalded his arm. Blisters rose in an ugly line.

”On the bright side,” Kenichi said through clenched teeth, staring at his arm, ”the power at the epicenter really did increase.”

He popped the blister with practiced efficiency, sprinkled medicinal powder over it, and the injury improved almost instantly.

Still, this was not the effect he wanted.

Kenichi tried studying other attribute combinations, but none worked. This compressed explosive only accepted fire attribute chakra. Everything else either destabilized it or failed entirely.

He did not fully understand why, but he had gained something valuable.

A Fire Release technique in the shape of a stored, long lasting thermobaric bomb.

Kenichi rubbed his face. ”Fire Release: Thermobaric Bullet?”

He immediately rejected it.

If he kept naming things like this, he would end up as hopeless as the Fourth Hokage.

Kenichi shook his head and offered a far more dramatic alternative.

”Fire Release: God Destroyer.”

His goal was to kill Obito with it. If it actually succeeded, the name would be unforgettable.

By the time he finished refining that special thermobaric bomb, the next day had arrived.

Kenichi left his lab and went to find Sasori.

The moment Sasori saw him, he pulled a puppet from behind his back and presented it without ceremony.

Kenichi froze.

”Wow,” he breathed.

The doll was lifelike. Not lifelike in the usual puppet sense, but lifelike in the way it could fool your eyes at a distance. Only by staring closely could you spot faint marks on the body. Even the limb joints were hidden beneath clothing, making it hard to notice anything strange.

”This is insane,” Kenichi said, genuinely impressed.

Sasori’s expression remained calm, as if he had just finished carving a wooden spoon.

Kenichi’s mind, however, immediately ran in a very different direction.

If Sasori had been in Kenichi’s previous world, he would have been a tycoon.

Imagine a life size Mai Sakurajima or Yuno Gasai stepping out of fiction, standing in front of someone, looking like a living person. How much would the truly dedicated spend?

And beyond that, how much would wealthy people pay to recreate a dead lover, a lost family member, someone they could not let go of?

Kenichi had seen stories before. A rich woman had her dog preserved as a specimen so it could stay with her forever. Another paid for genetic testing after a dog’s death, and somehow that dog ended up richer than countless people.

It was absurd, but it was real.

Sasori’s skill was tailor made for those kinds of desires. Set a threshold, thirty million per custom doll, and the wealthy would line up. Add luxury services and custom options, and no one with money would blink.

Sasori tilted his head, then casually said, ”If you had the means, it would be better to find the skin of a decent living person.”

Kenichi’s lips twitched.

Kenichi had been thinking about business.

Sasori had been thinking about flaying people.

”No need. Absolutely no need,” Kenichi said quickly. ”Where is the recording function?”

Sasori pointed at the puppet’s neck.

Kenichi pressed the spot, and a faint beeping sound answered him.

Sasori briefly explained the recording function, how to trigger playback, and the key details to pay attention to.

Kenichi understood immediately.

All he needed was a girl whose voice was similar to Rin’s. Have her scream, ”Obito, save me,” in a heart breaking voice, record it, then set it to auto play.

As for what happened after the scream?

Kenichi did not believe Obito and Black Zetsu could trace the girl through a single recording, but he still felt safer if there were no loose ends left behind.

So he would silence her permanently.

Kenichi accepted that with the same cold practicality he used for experiments.

”Obito,” Kenichi said softly, smiling as he looked at the puppet. ”I have gone to ridiculous lengths for you.”

Then his smile sharpened.

”So could you please just die already?”

Next, he would build a biometric trigger device, something that could automatically activate the thermobaric bomb’s fuse at the right moment.
