Chapter 320: Excitement begins

There were ten pedestals in the stage and each one held a transparent crystal ball with a screen above it.

A middle-aged man took the stage after Samael left.

”Okay, form ten rows. Each one will have a hundred people. Then, one by one, come in front of the pedestrian and place your hand on the crystal.”

With a loud applause, the awakening ceremony officially started.

Each line had ten noble children at the front since most of the people were commoners.

This ”noble” title was given to every hunter who reached B rank by the empire.

Finally, ten noble children stepped toward the pedestals at once and placed their hands on the crystals.

Instantly, the crystals lit up with a blinding white light and dimmed just as fast.

1. B rank

2. C rank

3. S rank

4. B rank

5. C rank

6. D rank

7. B rank

8. C rank

9. B rank

10. C rank

The noble children had powerful bloodlines running through them, so most of them would awaken, and would awaken above C rank, which could be called extraordinary.

”Hey, am I seeing that right? That third pedestal—is it showing S rank?”

”Hey, you’re not seeing things. That is S rank.”

”Hahaha, our city has finally given birth to an S rank talent. We’re going to become famous!”

From the high corner, Samael nodded with satisfaction. That was his sister-in-law. Now he could proudly say that he had married into this city.

The girl who had just awakened an S-ranked talent was looking at the screen with blurry eyes. Her eyes were full of tears.

She knew how much pressure she had been under all this time.

Her sister was married to an S+ ranked hunter and had an A rank talent. If she couldn’t awaken a powerful talent, her sister would be humiliated in her husband’s family, as that family had produced many top talents over the years.

”Hey, isn’t she Erina Ryle? The sister of Eva Ryle?”

” You’re right. I remember her sister awakened an A rank talent six years ago and married into a big family in the capital. Their parents are really something. That bloodline must be special.”

Everyone started talking about Erina. They didn’t care about the others who had awakened mediocre talents.

Erina went down from the stage and stood in a corner like a timid cat.

”Erina, come here,” Samael called her.

”What, Lord Samael has his eyes on her? The girl is going to ascend to the heaven. How envious.”

Erina went to him, and he gestured for her to sit by his side.

On the other hand, the ceremony continued.

Among those hundred noble children, ninety-five had awakened. Only five had bad luck and couldn’t awaken.

Now it was time for the commoners.

Ethan had been watching with a bored look on his face until now, but once the commoners started testing, he began watching with interest. Because most of the time, protagonists appeared from the commoners.

[C rank]

As expected, they were all at the bottom. Slowly, the line cleared.

Suddenly, Ethan’s eyes landed on a handsome young man. He was very calm and confident.

[Master, that boy is a transmigrator and has awakened some kind of sign-in system. He was laughing like a mad dog the previous night after getting the system.]

”Oh? The protagonist is really here. Do you know the system’s origin?”

[Yeah, it should be from the 30th dimension. Some dude has become bored and started creating these systems. He created five systems in total. The other four are not in this super dimension.]

”Alright, fair enough. A 30th-dimensional being is literally a god, supreme god, ultimate god. He has probably transcended existence itself already. So getting bored can be normal,” Ethan said, sympathizing with the creator of the system.

Slowly but surely, the crowd cleared. Soon it was that boy’s turn.

”Hey, do you know that piece of trash? He’s the son of Master Jiran, but he’s only the child of a maid, so Master Jiran refused to acknowledge him and threw him out.”

Ethan was speechless. Why did every protagonist always have to be treated like a dog?

Alex Silva, who took his mother’s last name, slowly walked toward the pedestal. He looked toward the nobles who were watching this ceremony from above. Master Jiran was also present there.

He wasn’t there for him but for his other son, who had awakened an A rank talent. He was smiling from ear to ear.

Alex looked at the man who should have been his father, but that man didn’t even look at him.

”You’ve missed your final opportunity old man. Once I awaken, I will not recognize you then,” Alex thought in his mind.

He was looking at the man until the last second to see if he would look at him or not.

But he didn’t.

Alex sighed and finally straightened his head and looked at the screen.

[SSS rank]

Boom!

The audience who were leaving the compound suddenly felt as if a nuclear bomb had detonated inside their heads.

”SSS rank? Does this rank exist? Didn’t they say it was just a myth? Nothing else? How come the myth suddenly turned into reality?”

Before anyone could even react, Samael vanished from his place and appeared in front of him.

”Boy, would you like to join the Aurelion family? You will be married to the most beautiful girl in the kingdom, who belongs to our family, and you will be declared the heir of the family.”

Samael was panicking. He wanted to directly kidnap the boy and leave from here. If those old monsters got the news of this, he wouldn’t be able to leave with him.

But how could he kidnap an SSS-ranked talent in front of everyone?

”Excuse me, Sir Samael. He is my son, and I don’t want him to go anywhere,” someone suddenly said from behind Samael.

Jiran had kicked away his pride and ego and came here the moment he saw the result. What the heck would he do with pride? Infront of a SSS rank talent, he would even lick his toes if needed.

He even directly confronted Lord Samael, an S+ tier hunter.

Because he knew that with an SSS rank talent, this boy could become the strongest hunter in history.

Alex looked at his shameless father with cold eyes.

”I am sorry, Lord Samael, he is lying. I don’t know this man,” Alex immediately refused to acknowledge him.

”Alex! What are you saying? How can you deny your bloodline?” Jiran roared like a wounded beast.

Alex just gave him a mocking smile.

”Lord Samael, we were discussing something. Please continue.”

As soon as he refused to acknowledge Jiran, Samael swatted his hand, and Jiran flew away like a ragdoll. He was just an A– rank hunter.

But before Samael could say anything, a tremendous pressure came from the sky.

Samael’s face turned dark. They had arrived already. Though he had already sent a message to the family and requested intervention from the elders, he would have to stop them until they came here.

”Samael Aurelion, you may leave now. I will handle the situation from here.”

In the Audience,Ethan was getting goosebumps with excitement, ”Damn! This is damn exciting.”, he felt this kind of excitement when he first awakened his system.
