”Yep, this is what months of using the Sacred Forbidden Zone to train does to you... which only I can relate to. I even got two badass titles. That fight with the behemoth was something else,” Lynx muttered, then frowned.

”System dude... Race? This is new. Why is there Demon showing 10%?” he asked the System.

[You ate many demon beast meat. You also devoured the meat and bones of the Demon Boulderhide Behemoth to pieces—which is very deadly to non demons—absorbing its massive energy. Instead of the poison of the demon meats killing you, I converted it to demonic energy stored in your body]

”Okay, that’s—” Lynx paused. The conversation cut off. He heard the voice again, coming from the sealed like cage. Low, feminine and definitely desperate.

”Runn.”

Then he heard footsteps.

Thud! Thud!! Thud!!!

Each step shook the ground harder than the Behemoth he fought earlier. The ground where he stood is now cracked.

He glanced at his sword. It was in terrible shape, cracked and blackened from the fight with the Boulderhide Behemoth. Useless.

”System dude, how much will it cost to upgrade my class to SS-Rank?”

[200000 APS Points]

”Good. Upgrade it.”

[Upgrading from A to SS-Rank in 3... 2... 1...]

A white light erupted from nowhere, flooding his body for 3 seconds and lighting up the pitch black cavern. Power surged through him, clean and violent.

[Class: Primordial Polymorph Blessed SS-Rank. 500,000 APS points to upgrade.]

”Why the fuck is the price jumping that high?”

[An A-Rank and S-Rank are not the same. The gap is massive. SS-Rank is even stronger. The power gaps grow exponentially with each rank. That is why] the System explained.

Lynx felt it. His muscles felt lighter, his mind sharper, his blood burning like it had been washed clean. He smiled... but not for long. The footsteps came faster now, drawing closer. The ground where he stood began to crack deeply.

”Oh shit what kind of monster is this, and my sword is broken,” he hissed.

”System, upgrade my Lightning Affinity to S-Rank. Upgrade my Fire and Earth Affinity to SS-Rank. And find me a stronger sword... not a single-affinity weapon.” His voice came out desperate.

He could feel it. Whatever was coming for him was stronger than every beast and demon he’d faced combined.

[Lightning Affinity A → S-Rank. Fire Affinity S → SS-Rank. Earth Affinity S → SS-Rank.

APS Points: 501,000 → 199,000

[Name: Sovereign Apex Blade (Lost Weapon)

Rank: SS-Rank

Requirement: Multi-Affinity user

Cost: 200000 APS Points

Cons: Consumes massive amounts of mana when unleashing it’s powers.

Description:

The Sovereign Apex Blade was last seen 500 years ago in the Battle of the Two Human Empires. A cursed weapon, wielded by The Great Blessed, Jacob Knight, one of the strongest human Blessed to ever live.

A single swing could split a mountain in half. It creates Fire that melts steel, brings out Lightning that shatters iron, forms thick sheets of ice, and carries the weight of Earth itself. Legends say it could cut through almost anything, even the concept of distance. The blade vanished after Jacob Knight death during the battle.

This weapon suits you most but you need 1000 more points to buy.]

”Are you kidding me? This is fucking worth the price. System, buy this weapon ASAP.”

[You only have 199,000 points. Are you sure you want to buy the weapon?]

”Yes. I don’t care about the price. I’ll pay later. Just get me the weapon.”

[Weapon bought successfully. Check your inventory.

APS Points: -1,000. Failure to repay within 1 month will result in drastic consequences.]

”That’ll do it,” Lynx breathed.

When he pulled it from the system inventory, the air went still. Even the heavy steps of the unknown creature dulled in his ears.

The Sovereign Apex Blade was 2 meters long, with four sharp edges. One edge burned like fresh magma. One edge cracked with blue lightning. One edge was heavy, brown, like stone. The fourth edge was cold, white, like glacial ice. The blade shimmered, colors shifting beautifully across its surface.

”Worth every point. Beautifully terrifying,” he whispered. He threw away his old sword and gripped this one tightly.

BOOM!!!

An explosion tore through the cavern. A gust of wind slammed into him, throwing him back. Dust and ash filled the air.

He regained himself mid air and landed. He looked up. His body shook. For the first time since arriving here, fear crept into his veins. He scanned it.

Name: [Abyssal Inferno Titan, Mal’Zaroth

Class: Demon

Level: 50

Affinity: Fire SSS-Rank. Ice SS-Rank

HP: 1,800,000

MP: 1,000,000

Total Strenght: 3,000,000]

He heard the system voice in his head.

[Warning: Level 50 Demon Detected. Threat Level: Catastrophic. Survival rate: 5%]

’Shit, the system hasn’t warned me like this before. My survival rate is 10%. Shit shitt’ he thought, while looking at the massive creature.

The demon-titan beast Mal’Zaroth was taller than the Behemoth. 8 meters of twisted muscle and melted bone. Its skin wasn’t skin, it was cracked volcanic rock, glowing orange from deep fissures like lava veins.

Half its face was burnt down to the skull, with one eye a molten pit and the other frozen solid, white as frost. Horns curved backward like a dead god’s crown, dripping both magma and black ice.

Its chest had a massive hole, but instead of organs, swirling fire and ice fought inside it endlessly. Every breath it took released hot steam. Its legs were stumpy and clawed, each step cracking the ground and leaving burning footprints.

The air around it shimmered from heat and cold. Contradicting each other. Where the Behemoth felt heavy, Mal’Zaroth felt wrong. Like standing next to a collapsing star.

[Ding!

Quest: Try not to Die

Reward: 10000 APS point and Ice Affinity Comprehension.]

Lynx eyes widened at the quest. He knew he couldn’t kill whatever this monster is but what the hell is this kind of quest.

Mal’Zaroth tilted its broken head. The molten eye locked onto Lynx’s, burning through him.

”A puny human?” it rumbled, voice echoing like thunder through the cavern. ”I haven’t seen one in three hundred years. The last human I fought was pretty strong. I used his bones to etch his name on the wall over there”.

The gigantic monster pointed his heavy fingers at the wall on the right side. The name reads ”Boluvard”.

”It was his request actually and I honored it. He was strong. The other humans who come here is kill by Behemoth. I’m surprised you killed him. Behemoth is one of the strongest here”

Lynx forced a smirk, but his heart was hammering against his ribs. ”You talk really well. I thought you’d be struggling with simple words. Behemoth was quite weak”

His words came out steady. But his heart was beating faster each minute.

He heard the Giant monster laughed

Hahaha!!

The ground shook, he almost lost his footing.

His heart is about to explode now.

Because when your System screams warnings in your head... when it gives you a quest that literally says ”do not die” and give you good rewards for just trying to survive....

Then you know. You’re not facing a beast.

You’re facing a fucking monster above monsters.
