Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 2163: Chapter 2163: Mr. Zombie (22)

A few people blocked the window over here, and the people on the other side obviously saw them too.

There were too many zombies, and some were already breaking down the door. They couldn’t hold them back, so someone waved for help.

”Hey!!”

”You over there, lend a hand!!”

Everyone knew that the other side might not be good people, but when they were about to be overwhelmed by zombies, did that matter?

Zhao Yingjun was quite excited: ”Boss, they’re asking us for help.”

Chuzheng put down the binoculars, looked at him with indifferent eyes: ”What did you say?”

”They asked us for... I didn’t hear anything,” Zhao Yingjun changed his tune: ”I didn’t hear anything.”

Chuzheng was satisfied and looked away.

The boss didn’t want to get involved, and the others dared not make a sound.

They acted as if they didn’t hear anything, continuing to watch. The people on the other side got anxious, transitioning from pleading for help to hurling abuse.

”In times like these, it’s normal not to help. Why are they cursing us?” Zhi Kai was dissatisfied.

”Then curse back.”

”N-no.” Zhi Kai was terribly sheepish.

Chuzheng genuinely wanted Zhi Kai to curse back: ”...”

-

The zombies, hearing the commotion, surged in greater numbers, surrounding the place completely.

The resort had a vintage style, mostly wooden buildings, including its doors... Wooden doors couldn’t withstand so many zombies clawing at them. Just as the zombies were about to break in, someone suddenly fired bullets at Chuzheng’s side.

Outside the house was a row of already withered plants. The bullets shattered the porcelain flower pots, the loud noise attracting the zombies’ attention.

”Shit!”

Zhi Kai cursed under his breath.

”These people are nuts!”

”The zombies are coming our way!”

”Those bastards!”

-

Seeing the effect, the people on the other side immediately split their firepower, continuously firing at the opposite side to create a ruckus, drawing some zombies away.

”Jin Ling, you’re clever,” someone gave Jin Ling a thumbs-up.

Jin Ling looked serious: ”Don’t get distracted, let’s escape first.”

Someone weakly said: ”Is what we’re doing...”

”They didn’t save us first, so they can’t blame us,” Jin Ling’s voice inexplicably carried a sinister tone: ”Unless you want to die here?”

”...”

That person fell silent.

No one else made a sound, focusing on dealing with the zombies below.

Jin Ling glanced at the opposite side, zombies were already there, but since the commotion over there wasn’t major, the zombies seemed to want to return.

Jin Ling immediately targeted that place, making an even bigger noise to lure the zombies over.

Her dreams had become more frequent lately.

It seemed like they were urging her to kill her quickly.

Otherwise...

Otherwise, she would die.

Jin Ling tried to aim at the window, but she couldn’t see anyone there, she couldn’t just kill her directly...

”Why are the zombies coming back?”

Jin Ling was pulled back to reality by that voice, looking below, the zombies that had gone were now returning.

What was going on?

These zombies...

Why were there more than before?

”Zombies are coming from over there too, we can’t hold them off!”

”I’m out of bullets.”

”So am I.”

Amidst the chaos, Jin Ling heard someone shout that zombies were coming up.

She was dragged into another room, only snapping back to reality when she was pushed against a window.

”Jump down quickly!”

Jin Ling looked down, there were also zombies below, though not as many as over there.

”I...”

The people behind her heard the zombies coming up, they didn’t care about much else and pushed Jin Ling down immediately.

Jin Ling was unprepared, pushed down like that, she hit the ground, her head spinning.

Someone pulled her, and Jin Ling finally felt the pain in her leg.

”It hurts...”

Tears streamed down Jin Ling’s face.

”It hurts so much... my leg...”

”Hurry up!” The person pulling Jin Ling was sweating profusely in panic, watching the surrounding zombies: ”Get up quickly.”

Jin Ling clutched her leg, her face pale with pain, unable to speak.

The person pulling Jin Ling couldn’t move her after several tries, decisively let go of her, and ran off in another direction.

”You...” Jin Ling moved and it hurt terribly, she could only watch helplessly as that person ran away.

There were still people resisting upstairs, but there were more screams.

Someone climbed the window but was pulled back before jumping down, and sticky liquid fell from the sky onto Jin Ling’s face, her nose filled with the scent of blood.

”Roar roar roar!”

Zombies were closing in on Jin Ling’s sight, and she propped her body, painstakingly moving backward.

Was she really going to die here?

This shouldn’t be!

Jin Ling looked toward the opposite building, she could only see a window of that building, by the window, someone stood there.

Although Jin Ling couldn’t see who it was, her heart provided her the answer.

The one standing there, it must be her.

Despite trying so hard to change, why was she still going to be killed by her in the end?

Could this be her fate?

Jin Ling was cornered, despair and hatred gradually filled her eyes, she was unwilling to accept this.

”Roar...”

The stench of the zombie wafted over, and Jin Ling even felt the zombie’s teeth biting into her leg.

Bam——

Jin Ling thought she was done for, but unexpectedly, the zombie collapsed suddenly.

Her pupils widened slightly, staring at the fallen zombie, she didn’t snap out of it for a long time.

Bam bam bam——

Bullets and explosions kept ringing, Jin Ling saw a vehicle drive in, the people on it were well-equipped, and the zombies were no longer a threat wherever they went.

Not dead...

She wasn’t dead.

After immense fear, Jin Ling’s face showed a slightly twisted smile, heaven was still on her side!

-

When Chuzheng saw people appear, she let her zombies run first.

[Miss, this doesn’t match your style.] The King’s Account couldn’t resist a sarcastic comment.

Chuzheng: What style?

[...Aren’t you supposed to draw a knife now?] That’s more your style, fight if you don’t agree!

Chuzheng: Am I sick?

[...] I think you are, and it’s not mild. The King’s Account didn’t dare to say it out loud and instead insincerely said: [Miss, how could you be sick.]

Chuzheng: Then why would I go? Didn’t you see they have heavy weapons?

This group was aggressive, well-equipped, with some heavy weapons, and clearly not a hastily assembled temporary team.

She wasn’t scared, but the zombies were just flesh and blood. With such bombardment, what would be left?

After painstakingly gathering these zombies, how could she let them perish here?

They wouldn’t win, so why not run to avoid death?

[...]

The King’s Account thought carefully, it seemed like most of the time, the miss would weigh the losses first, think about whether she could win, and then decide whether to go.

When she couldn’t win, she would shamelessly turn around and run away — sometimes because she simply couldn’t be bothered, so she ran to save herself trouble.

The King’s Account had a bit of a headache, wishing the miss would focus more on squandering instead of these chaotic things.
