Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 2161: Chapter 2161: Mr. Zombie (20)

Chuzheng used hot water to clean the area around his wound, then re-applied the medicine and bandaged it again.

Bei Chi could do nothing but glare at her.

If anyone were to see this scene, who knows what indescribable thoughts they might have.

However, Chuzheng was merely cleaning his body and reapplying medicine, nothing more.

After completing this, Chuzheng pulled his clothes down to cover him properly and untied the ropes binding him.

Bei Chi spat out the towel stuffed in his mouth, curled his legs, and huddled himself away to the side.

Murmuring a few indistinct ’huh huh’ sounds, it’s unclear if he was cursing her.

”Not coming over to sleep with me?”

”Huh!” No!

He has his dignity too!

”Fine then.” Chuzheng couldn’t be bothered to deal with him, taking good care of him still, yet he throws a tantrum; oh how impressive.

A minute later.

Zombie Mr. pathetically leaned against the seat and wedged himself into Chuzheng’s embrace.

After lying down for a few minutes, Bei Chi crawled up again to execute the bedtime ritual with Chuzheng.

Chuzheng: ”...”

I always feel like he wants to take the opportunity to bite me... No ambiguity there, true bite.

Sometimes when Chuzheng opens her eyes, she sees this guy staring at her eagerly, just like he’s eyeing a tasty meal.

It’s really too difficult for me.

Too hard for this small, weak, and helpless pathetic little me.

-

Bei Chi was contentedly asleep, but Chuzheng wasn’t sleepy, so she hugged him and gazed out the window... all she saw were zombies.

Chuzheng decisively drew the curtains and looked down at the person in her arms.

To Chuzheng, it seemed like an illusion, but she felt Bei Chi’s complexion appeared much lighter than before.

Who knows what kind of virus it was, making people become like this, eating or not eating, wouldn’t die...

Chuzheng thought for a moment and felt foolish trying to figure out the background setting.

Chuzheng gave Bei Chi a kiss on the forehead, pulled a thin blanket over him, and closed her eyes to rest while embracing him.

Chuzheng didn’t sleep deeply, so when Bei Chi woke up and moved around in her arms, she opened her eyes.

Bei Chi fixed his gray eyes on her, staring unblinkingly.

Chuzheng glanced out the window; it was still dark.

”What’s wrong?” Chuzheng asked softly.

”Huh...”

”??” Sorry, I don’t understand, can you speak human?

Bei Chi suddenly pulled open the curtains and pointed outside: ”Huh huh!”

Outside, the zombies were obviously a bit restless too, gradually a lot of zombies stood up and looked in one direction.

The night watch had changed shifts; it was now Ah Yi and Zhi Kai who appeared outside Chuzheng’s car window.

Zhi Kai knocked on the car window: ”Boss.”

”What’s going on outside?”

”Don’t know... they suddenly started acting like this.” Zhi Kai shook his head.

”Seems like there’s light,” Ah Yi pointed not far: ”Over there.”

They were now beside a wooded area off the highway, and the source of the light seemed to be on the highway.

Soon, they heard panicked cries and screams...

The zombie herd became more agitated.

Chuzheng looked down at Bei Chi: ”Baby, make them quiet.”

Bei Chi leaned against her shoulder and did not respond to her words.

Chuzheng kissed him once.

Bei Chi looked up at her, then finally moved after a moment, growling lowly toward the outside.

The nearby zombies heard him, and it was passed on; indeed, they quieted down.

Chuzheng didn’t know what Bei Chi said to them, but it seemed to work.

Chuzheng thought they wouldn’t have any interaction with that group of people; after all, she didn’t block the highway, those people could just run past.

Who knew that group of people would come towards her.

Thus—

That group of survivors encountered a huge zombie group, with another group of zombies howling and chasing from behind.

The survivors were like sandwich cookies, trapped in the middle.

The scene became awkward.

Chuzheng’s zombie group silently watched the survivors, like statues standing there steadfastly.

In the darkness, such a scene appeared especially terrifying and creepy.

”Who led the way...?”

”Why are there so many zombies here?”

”It’s over... we’re all going to die here.”

With danger in front and enemies behind, despair filled their hearts, and the zombies behind were closing in. Were they really going to die here today?

”Let’s fight!” someone shouted out: ”We can’t just wait to die.”

”...”

But no one responded to him.

Seeing the throngs of zombies in front, without a way to even see an end, how could they fight?

Might as well commit suicide quickly to avoid suffering later.

Just when these people were in despair, the zombie group in the woods suddenly parted, creating a path leading into the darkness, its destination unknown.

”...”

”What’s the meaning of this?” someone asked tremblingly.

”A trap?”

No matter the meaning, they certainly didn’t have good intentions.

No one dared to move. With so many zombies, running in would be a death wish, right?

”Roar roar roar!!”

The roars of the zombies behind seemed right beside their ears, each roar so clear; it was the sound of death.

Someone broke through the group, running toward the path the zombies parted.

”No...”

That person ran fast and had already entered; the zombies on either side didn’t move, just watching them.

In the blink of an eye, that person had already run more than a dozen meters.

”Run!”

Staying is death, running is also death... Might as well run, every second longer lived counts.

Everyone pulled and dragged those around them, running into the zombie horde.

Looking back from behind, the zombies gradually filled the gap.

By now, they were completely surrounded by zombies...

Each survivor had their heart in their throat, yet as they moved through, the zombies did not attack.

There were zombies who seemed eager, but they merely reached out as if to block them, and quickly were pressed back by nearby zombies.

The whole scene was indescribably eerie.

Until...

They dashed out from the zombie crowd, reaching a more open space.

Two vehicles were parked on the open ground, with many objects placed in front of them, and two people standing outside the car, the car window behind them open, several heads gathered together watching outside.

Humans!

The group looked strangely at the now completely zombie-blocked path behind them, and then at those people.

Are they dreaming?

Why are there humans within the zombie horde?

Zhi Kai and the others awkwardly smiled at them.

”!!!”

The group was half scared to death, huddling together in fear, eyes filled with the terror ’what kind of evil demons are these people’.

Zhi Kai and the others: ”...” Wasn’t their smile friendly enough?

In their fright, a car door from the vehicle beside them opened, and a young girl appeared at the door.

The girl was pretty, her demeanor cold and noble, not like someone struggling to survive in the apocalypse, more like someone walking down from a divine pedestal...

They heard the girl speak, her voice crisp and cold: ”Good evening.”

”...”
