Chapter 620: Chapter 620 Our Junior Brother Isn’t So Easy to Kill

”Junior Brother, pay close attention to how Senior Sister circulates her internal energy. This Great Demon is of the Fire Attribute, and understanding how it operates will help you heal your injuries!” Cheng Lu, afraid Ye Qingchen might miss something, hurriedly instructed.

Li Nian’er watched the group of delivery demons recede into the distance, then wasted no more words. Gripping her Longsword, she leaped into the air and darted through the forest, stopping swiftly before the demons guarding the entrance. With her stunning figure, Li Nian’er’s presence at the doorway instantly attracted their attention.

The Great Demon, which had been resting with its eyes half-closed, sniffed the air. Its eyes snapped open and rapidly filled with blood as it glared furiously at Li Nian’er. Overwhelming Demonic Qi surged from its body. The nearby True Demons couldn’t withstand the pressure and instantly collapsed to the ground.

”Oh? How come you’re not dead yet?” Li Nian’er’s tone was provocative.

However, the Great Demon didn’t move an inch. It perked its ears, carefully scrutinizing the area behind her.

I recognize this human. It was she and another person who shattered my defenses, leading to so much mockery from the other demons! Today, I will wash away this humiliation! But why is she alone now? Could this be a trap?

The higher the rank in the Demon Clan, the greater their intelligence. Compared to lower-ranked demons, a Great Demon’s intellect was far superior. Even though the human before it made its teeth itch with hatred, it still had to consider the situation carefully. It had to avoid falling into a trap, especially one set by these cunning humans. The slightest misstep could mean falling into one of their snares.

”You... If you’re not dead, how could I be?!” The demon’s sudden use of human speech took Li Nian’er by surprise.

”So, demons *can* talk after all!”

She smiled faintly, infusing the Water Attribute Energy from her arms into her Longsword. She slashed toward the demon, and a piercing blast of Sword Qi instantly shot toward the wound on its back.

A warrior could be killed, but not insulted.

How could the Great Demon tolerate such an outrage? It waved its hand, and all the True Demons that had been waiting for the signal immediately swarmed Li Nian’er. The Energy of these True Demons was a chaotic mix of various attributes, and their strength was not to be underestimated.

But Li Nian’er was far from timid. Forming a seal with one hand, she summoned countless droplets into the air. In a flash, she transformed them into sharp Water Arrows that rained down upon the besieging True Demons. As the Water Arrows pierced their bodies, the True Demons collapsed one after another, turning to ash in an instant.

”Looks like you’re still a fool. Don’t worry, no one else is with me today. I’m more than enough to handle you on my own!”

At Li Nian’er’s blatant provocation, the Great Demon could no longer contain itself and let out a furious roar. As a Great Demon of the Fire Attribute, its fury caused its power to surge. Bright red flames erupted from beneath its feet, and the surrounding temperature spiked, turning the damp soil instantly to ash. The Great Demon’s dark-brown skin turned crimson within the flames, glowing like volcanic lava about to erupt.

Li Nian’er, despite her doll-like face, charged straight ahead. As she moved through the air, moisture condensed into a gushing spring that enveloped her completely, shielding her from the flames.

Seeing the seemingly weak human draw closer, the Great Demon became instantly alert, not daring to relax for a moment. Flames rose around its body as it threw punch after punch with all the strength in its arms, striking the protective barrier around Li Nian’er.

This was no ordinary fire. Upon contact with the water, it wasn’t extinguished. Instead, it seemed to coexist with the water, slowly consuming it. The protective barrier Li Nian’er had so easily conjured was almost completely eroded in the time it took to drink half a cup of tea.

A smug smile appeared on the Great Demon’s face. Its hawk-like eyes scanned Li Nian’er, and in the next moment, it soared into the air to engage her in combat. Her petite figure and the massive demon became a blur as they clashed, neither gaining the upper hand.

Whether it was intentional or not, Li Nian’er seemed to be deliberately revealing flaws in her Water Attribute Energy, and the Great Demon capitalized on every single one. The Great Demon chased her through the air for some time. When it saw that she wasn’t even breathing hard, it realized it was being toyed with and erupted in a towering rage. The surrounding creatures were scorched by the intense heat, and even the trees were reduced to charcoal.

Li Nian’er’s expression remained calm. She coolly sheathed her Longsword and swiftly formed hand seals in mid-air. A Water Attribute Formation materialized around her former position, instantly trapping the Great Demon at its center. The Great Demon struggled fiercely, but it was powerless to escape.

Without hesitation, Li Nian’er looked up and called out behind her.

”Junior Brother, get down here!”

Ye Qingchen, deeply feeling the benefits of having a powerful backer, obediently leaped down from the tree, landing directly in front of the Great Demon.

”Did you get a clear look at its attacks just now?”

Ye Qingchen nodded obediently.

”Then I’ll leave it to you!” Li Nian’er said casually, not waiting for a reply as she strode straight toward the Devil’s Cave. The others quickly came down from the trees as well.

”Xiao Xiao, come on, let’s go pick out a suitable Demon Egg for a pet!” Li Nian’er said, pulling Xiao Xiao toward the Devil’s Cave.

Xiao Xiao looked back every few steps, hesitant to leave. ”Senior Sister, the Young Master... he’s still injured... You’re leaving him here all alone...”

Li Nian’er gave a sly smile and pulled her back. ”Don’t worry. The Great Demon’s strength has been greatly reduced, and its Energy is about on par with your Young Master’s. Letting him study it will help his injuries heal!”

Xiao Xiao remained apprehensive, unwilling to leave.

”Fine, fine, I guess my good deed went unappreciated! I’ll stay and watch with you then!” Li Nian’er looked at the lovesick girl with exasperation. With a push, she shoved Ye Qingchen directly into the Formation.

The Great Demon was going berserk inside the Formation, unable to break free even with all its strength. The flames from its body nearly burned a hole in the ground. Now, seeing someone pushed inside, it could no longer hold back. It whirled around and dove toward the newcomer, its body crashing down like a giant fireball.

Ye Qingchen was caught completely off guard, not expecting his Senior Sister to act so fast. He had just realized where he was when a wave of searing heat washed over him. It stimulated the Fire Attribute Energy that had been suppressed within his body, causing it to stir restlessly, as if eager for a fight.

He acted on impulse and failed to dodge in time. The Great Demon’s heavy blow struck him squarely in the abdomen. Like a kite with a severed string, his body smashed into the edge of the Formation and was instantly flung back.

As the enraged Great Demon prepared to launch a second attack on the rebounding Ye Qingchen, Xiao Xiao’s heart clenched with anxiety.

”Young Master...” she cried out, wanting to rush forward, but Li Nian’er held her back firmly. ”Don’t worry, little girl! Our Junior Brother isn’t that easy to kill!”
