Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2463: Chapter 8: Ominous Signs

Amidst the bleeding sorrow, anger, and unwilling pleas, everything seemed to dissipate like mist.

Mo Hua awoke, slowly opened his eyes, and frowned as he fell into contemplation.

The elder from the dream just now, his face covered with bloody tears, his features blurred, but judging from the figure and voice, he should be the Second Elder of the Demon Sect, who perished with the Desolate Dragon Hall.

The clues to the Twelve Scripture Gluttonous Spirit Corpse Formation were told to him by the Second Elder.

At that time, he did indeed make a request:

During the impending Great Calamity, to preserve a sliver of bloodline for the Great Wilderness Clan.

Originally, Mo Hua had almost forgotten about this, but unexpectedly, after returning from the Qian Learning State Boundary, the already deceased Second Elder implored him in a dream...

However...

”Who exactly are the descendants of the Great Wilderness Lineage?”

”Why is the Second Elder now appearing in my dreams, has something changed?”

”The Great Wilderness is facing impending doom, the Great Wilderness Clan... is facing extinction...”

”Is the Second Elder reminding me that something major is about to happen?”

”If I ignore this, will the promise to the Second Elder never be fulfilled? Will the Second Elder never rest in peace?”

Mo Hua frowned deeply.

He hadn’t paid much attention to the promise to the Second Elder before.

Even if he broke his word, a mere deceased Second Elder could do nothing to him.

Even if the Second Elder couldn’t rest in peace and turned into a Fierce Ghost, he could crush him with a flick of his hand.

But on the flip side, the Second Elder did indeed help him a great deal.

If it weren’t for his guidance, he wouldn’t possibly have acquired the Second Grade twenty-four patterns Lifebound Formation, the Twelve Scripture Gluttonous Spirit Corpse Formation.

Moreover, he seemed to have indeed agreed to it back then.

Both emotionally and logically, he should fulfill the promise, which would also conclude a causality.

But how to fulfill this promise?

Mo Hua mused, ”Could it be... I need to make a trip to the Great Wilderness?”

The Desolate Royal Family should be located south of the Li State, at the heart of the Three Thousand Wilderness.

Now, with the Second Elder appearing in dreams, it’s clear that the Great Wilderness Lineage is already facing tremendous hidden dangers, potentially leading to annihilation and the disaster of bloodline extermination if even the slightest mistake is made.

But if the Great Wilderness Clan is facing impending doom, it means that the upcoming Great Wilderness is a land of great peril.

Being a land of great peril, it’s naturally best to stay as far away as possible.

The simple logic of seeking fortunes and avoiding calamities is something that Mo Hua, who learned Heavenly secret Calculation, absolutely understands.

So naturally, this Great Wilderness is a place not to go to...

Mo Hua shook his head slightly.

The survival of the Great Wilderness Clan carries too big a causality, something a Foundation Building Cultivator like him has no ability to bear.

The pressing matter is still the importance of Core Formation.

But... Core Formation...

Mo Hua paused, his eyes dimmed slightly as he pondered deeply.

To form a core, one must construct a Lifebound Formation Map.

And his Lifebound Formation Map is the Taotie Spirit Formation.

This formation is an ancient Forbidden Formation of the Great Wilderness.

Currently, he doesn’t have the ability to learn it, nor does he know whether there are hidden secrets within this Taotie Formation.

If there are, these secrets would only be hidden within the Desolate Royal Family.

If the Great Wilderness Clan truly perishes, it means the secrets within this ancient Taotie Formation will be permanently sealed and even completely vanish.

He would no longer be able to comprehend this Twelve Scripture Gluttonous Spirit Corpse Formation, let alone refine it as his Lifebound Formation.

Mo Hua’s gaze slightly tightened.

Although this is only his speculation, the possibility is quite high.

Even if there’s only a one in ten thousand chance, he dare not gamble.

After all, if the secrets of the Taotie Formation truly perish with the Great Wilderness Clan, he might not be able to form a core in this lifetime.

Or perhaps, he could only settle for another lower-grade formation.

But such a thing, Mo Hua is absolutely unwilling to accept.

Once you’ve seen the vast ocean, it’s hard to settle for mere water.

He already possesses a twenty-four patterns Ultimate Formation, there’s no way he’d degrade himself to use another formation as his Lifebound Formation.

”Could this also be the Second Elder’s scheme?”

Mo Hua thought to himself, ”If I obtained this Barbaric Absolute Formation, it’d be fine if I didn’t learn it, but once I desire to learn it and refine it into my Magic Treasure, I’d naturally need to make a trip to the Great Wilderness, thus fulfilling my promise to him?”

”This Second Elder...”

Mo Hua’s gaze turned icy, pondering for a moment, then heaved a soft sigh.

Although the Second Elder’s small scheming was somewhat displeasing, upon deep thought, the Second Elder, who was about to die and disappear, had no other choice, and this was his only chance.

For the sake of the Great Wilderness, he devoted himself unto death, unwavering even after becoming dust post-mortem.

Despite the departure, Mo Hua still held a great deal of respect for such a person.

Moreover, this Ultimate Formation, if it were a ”bait,” it was of his own volition to take it.

Sometimes, gaining benefits naturally comes with a responsibility.

Having a cause also means bearing the corresponding ”effect.”

This is also the law of Heavenly Mechanism Causality.

”Since things have come to this... then... shall I make a trip to the Great Wilderness?”

After pondering for a moment, Mo Hua calculated and sensed his destined causality, then slowly nodded after weighing the options and made up his mind:

”Go to the Great Wilderness, refine the Taotie Formation, seek the opportunity for core formation...”

With this decision made, Mo Hua let out a long sigh.

Though still hesitant and reluctant, he felt a moment of clarity, at the very least making his goal more defined.

There was still one puzzlement:

”What exactly is the Great Wilderness Clan’s extinction disaster that the Second Elder fears?”

Mo Hua’s gaze was rather heavy.

...

At this time, far away at the Qian Learning State Boundary.

In a remote and desolate mountain forest, seldom visited by people.

A middle-aged cultivator, looking like a scholar, was walking alone.
