I Return From Hell

Chapter 71: Chapter 67: The Feeling of a Stirred Heart

The Treasure House owner could fight using the rules, so his combat prowess was bound to be terrifying.

Moreover, Xia Yu had never fought anyone who could use the rules and had no experience in this kind of combat.

So, this was certain to be a difficult battle.

She gripped Blood Butterfly tightly, not daring to be careless.

THUD.

Their attacks collided violently.

Xia Yu immediately dodged the Treasure House owner’s attack. She then followed up with her fist, her leg, and Blood Butterfly, striking him three times in quick succession.

Then, she felt like she was fighting a fat, clumsy robot.

’Even Blood Butterfly can’t hurt him.’

Xia Yu’s brow furrowed.

The edge of Blood Butterfly’s blade was slightly curled.

The spots where her fist and leg had made contact were slightly red and throbbing with pain.

’It’s a good thing I didn’t use my full strength just now. Otherwise, the rebound force would have been greater, causing me more harm, and Blood Butterfly’s blade would probably be even more bent.’

In contrast, the Treasure House owner hadn’t even taken a single step back.

”Yu!”

Xie Shaokun’s attack followed right after.

Xia Yu warned him, ”The power of the rules is protecting him. He can ignore any attack. Don’t fight him head-on. Evade for now and figure out how the rules work. That’s the only way to beat him.”

By the time he heard her, Xie Shaokun’s pig-killing knife had already struck the Treasure House owner’s head.

He had put his all into it!

CRACK.

The pig-killing knife actually snapped on the spot.

”!!!”

Xie Shaokun’s face fell in shock.

’The enhanced pig-killing knife is this fragile?’

This was the first time he’d ever encountered a situation like this.

”I told you, humans can’t fight against the rules.”

The Treasure House owner wasn’t scared at all. Instead, he took the opportunity to punch Xie Shaokun in the stomach.

HISS.

Xie Shaokun felt as if he’d been hit by an iron fist; his guts felt like they were about to rupture.

His body buckled and he retreated quickly, unable to straighten his back for several seconds.

”Yu.”

”It’s like this guy is wearing a weightless, invincible skin.”

Xie Shaokun explained what he felt. ”How are we supposed to fight this?”

”Try this.”

Xia Yu put away Blood Butterfly and took out a pistol.

”!!!”

The Treasure House owner jumped in fright. He couldn’t help but stop in his tracks, pausing his advance. ”You actually have a gun.”

At that moment, he had no idea if he could withstand a gunshot.

After all, guns were extremely intimidating to ordinary people.

Xia Yu didn’t rush to pull the trigger.

She knew perfectly well that a gun wouldn’t be able to break his Defense, nor would a Crystal Core explosion. The rules meant invincibility; even *They* were helpless against them.

’I have to find a weakness in how the rules operate to deal with them.’

She took the opportunity to observe him and made a new discovery. ”You’re too slow, and your stamina is terrible.”

”It seems the rules haven’t given you any other abilities. They just made you Undying.”

”Hmph.”

The Treasure House owner knew her analytical and observational skills were freakishly good—he was already used to it. He said, ”The mist continues to spread. Right now, this is the only area you can move in.”

”An area of about three square meters.”

”And as time passes, this area is still shrinking.”

”In such a small area, your speed advantage isn’t that great.”

”As for stamina...”

HUFF... PUFF...

”If you hadn’t tricked me earlier and made me waste so much energy, I would’ve slaughtered you with ease.”

As he spoke, he wiped the sweat that was already beading on his forehead again. Seeing that Xia Yu wasn’t in a hurry to shoot, his fear vanished. ”It looks like the pistol is useless against me, too. Otherwise, you would’ve shot already.”

”You’re trying to take this chance to observe something, aren’t you?”

”Go on. Take a good look.”

The Treasure House owner gave up on attacking and walked straight over to the rule-based resource.

Everyone: ”...”

”Yu, what do we do now?”

Xie Shaokun couldn’t help but ask.

Whether they attacked or defended was completely up to their opponent, and they couldn’t stop him. It was infuriating!

”There are two ways,”

Xia Yu said.

Huh?

Xie Shaokun and Little Nannan were both stunned for a moment.

’Isn’t this an impossible situation?’

’There’s a solution? Two of them?’

”Tch.”

The Treasure House owner said disdainfully, ”I admit your observation and analysis skills are strong, and you’re a good fighter. But I’m not doing anything. What can you possibly figure out?”

”What, are you going to tire me to death?”

”And why not?”

Xia Yu retorted.

”The ledger!”

”Big Sister, are you thinking of finding the ledger, recreating the previous situation, and making him walk back and forth until he dies of exhaustion?”

Little Nannan exclaimed, having figured it out.

”Nannan is so smart.”

Xia Yu nodded.

”You...”

The Treasure House owner’s expression changed drastically. The memory of being controlled just moments ago made his legs feel weak, but he put on a brave front and blustered, ”You think you can find it?”

”The mist covered the ledger long ago. Do you dare go into the mist to get it?”

”The ledger is still there,” Xia Yu said with certainty. ”However, you mentioned the mist. That’s the second way to deal with you.”

”The rule-based mist here can devour everything, including the rules, which naturally includes you.”

Only rules can defeat rules!

”I get it.”

Xie Shaokun’s eyes lit up. He said, ”Once the mist closes in, this fatso is a dead man for sure.”

Xia Yu: ”...”

Little Nannan: ”...”

The Treasure House owner: ”...”

”Am I wrong?”

Xie Shaokun then figured out the reason and blushed. ”I forgot the mist will cover us too.”

”Then we’ll just have to find a way to get him into it.”

”Yu, we carry him over?”

”That’s not a bad idea.”

Xia Yu nodded, thinking it was a good idea. ”Then let’s give it a try.”

Getting affirmation from Yu, Xie Shaokun’s confidence surged. He couldn’t help but roll up his sleeves, ready to get to work.

The Treasure House owner’s expression changed. He immediately grabbed the broken knife from the ground and waved it at Xia Yu and Xie Shaokun. ”Come any closer and I’ll kill you.”

”I’d like to see if your skin can block a sharp blade.”

Xia Yu glanced at the encroaching mist, not wanting to waste any more time.

”Let’s move.”

She dashed forward.

CRACK.

Without the support of Xie Shaokun’s enhanced superpower, the blade in the Treasure House owner’s hand was easily snapped by Blood Butterfly.

Immediately after, she dodged behind the Treasure House owner and seized his arms.

Xie Shaokun was no slouch in a fight. He coordinated with her perfectly, grabbing the man’s ankles.

Before the Treasure House owner could even react, the two of them had lifted him up.

”You... Stop!”

”Stop it!”

He panicked. He clearly hadn’t expected to end up in such a pathetic state while relying on the rules.

Unfortunately, no one paid him any mind.

”You forced me to do this.”

Seeing himself getting closer and closer to the mist, a crazed look appeared on his face. ”Immobilize!”

VMMMM.

Xia Yu and Xie Shaokun froze in place, still in the posture of carrying the man.

’This is bad.’

”Yu, what do we do?”

Xie Shaokun’s expression changed dramatically.

Xia Yu frowned, staring at the Treasure House owner. ”After this, you’ll be completely enslaved by the rules, won’t you?”

”It’s better than being dead!”

The Treasure House owner’s face was filled with venomous hatred as he spoke. ”This is all your fault!”

”I won’t be satisfied until I’ve killed you!”

He broke free from Xia Yu and Xie Shaokun’s grasp, deliberately took two steps back, then accelerated and lunged with a kick toward Xia Yu, his face contorted as he roared, ”Didn’t you want to throw me into the white mist?”

”Then I’ll send you in first to get a taste of it.”

”Stop!”

Xie Shaokun’s face paled as he roared.

”Then again...”

The Treasure House owner seemed to have thought of something. He paused, his vicious expression not fading but now joined by a lecherous grin. ”Such a beautiful woman. It’d be a waste to kill her.”

”I should have some fun with you first.”

”A top-shelf prize with such class and ability... I’ve never had one like you before.”

As he spoke, he reached out his hand.

Xia Yu had taken off her down jacket earlier because of the fight, so now her upper body was only covered by a thin top.

”You animal!”

”If you’ve got the guts, come at me!”

Xie Shaokun roared again, ”My pecs are huge! I’m sure I can satisfy you!”

The Treasure House owner’s hand paused. The viciousness and lechery on his face all melted away into...

Disgust.

”You’re a grown man. I have no interest in you.”

His stomach churned as he said, ”After I’m done enjoying myself, then I’ll kill you.”

”A top-shelf woman like this... a kid like you who’s not even dry behind the ears must want to see her body too, right?”

”I’ll let you feast your eyes before you die.”

”No need to thank me.”

RRRIP.

Xia Yu’s top was ripped open, revealing a large expanse of skin...

The Treasure House owner’s heart skipped a beat. His eyes shot wide open, his Adam’s apple bobbed, and even though he had tasted countless delicacies, at this moment, he couldn’t control the stirring within him.

This was the feeling of being captivated.
