846 14.122 Last Violet Star – (Past) Before the War

Within the Xie Clan’s Territory’s Boundaries...

The Xie Clan’s property is located in a secret valley between the south and west, not far from the capital city. However, it is difficult to penetrate their land since it was full of traps and illusory pathways that trapped and instantly killed outsiders. While optimizing the safe routes in their memories and creating blueprints of them, the individuals who serve Bai Wuan gradually removed all of those traps and formations.

It was Bai Wuan who made things simple for the alliance since he had been looking into the Xie Clan ever since he heard that their ancestor had established a cultivation stage of a Nascent Soul, who was rumored to be the Mortal Realm’s strongest cultivator. He only looked into this clan because of the potential risk it posed to his desired outcome of carrying out a trial in this realm, and as Bai Wuan had prophesied, this individual, Xie Gui, was truly a member of the Devil Race, which he had to exterminate for the trial.

Unfortunately, this individual is nothing more than a scapegoat. The devil exploited Xie Gui as camouflage and as bait for everyone else in the mortal realm, including Bai Wuan, so he wouldn’t be caught. But no one anticipated that the Devil’s chosen vessel would be none other than Sect Master Yun. Thankfully, the devil revealed itself when Xie Gui came into the Lan Zhuayan Sect.

They were fortunate in that the original soul of the vessel wasn’t fully consumed and that Bai Wuan was able to save Sect Master Yun just in time. Since his soul was rescued, he should at the very least be able to undergo reincarnation.

Currently, Bai Wuan and Yun Xiajie are in charge of the Sect Alliance cultivators, which consist of four major sects. They ultimately came to the decision to besiege the Xie Clan with the goal of annihilating them, with the assistance of Lu Yi and Jin Shiyan. They had set up camp near the Xie Clan’s boundaries in anticipation of the attack’s arrival at the ideal moment.

After successfully completing his mission to escort Yun Huaxia and Bai Qiyin to safety, Zero, the head of the covert espionage group under Bai Wuan’s command, arrived that evening. He immediately informed his lord of all that occurred. Bai Wuan was given a detailed account of everything that took place throughout the expedition. So when he eventually heard that the Xie Clan had barred Bai Qiyin, the younger brother of Bai Wuan, from cultivating, he was finally incensed at the offender.

“Who did it?,” Bai Wuan questioned his subordinate Zero.

“The brothers in his group learned that Xie Gui was responsible after he had already gone insane and begun to despise the shade of silver. He now wants to kill anybody with silver hair or eyes,” reported Zero.

.....

Bai Wuan’s gorgeous beauty flashed an angelic charm. It gave him the appearance of a heavenly creature who was radiating grace and holiness. However, Zero was so frightened by this look on him that he couldn’t stop shaking in the presence of those argent eyes. They had known this lord of theirs long enough to be familiar with his personality.

His anger increases in proportion to how dazzling his smile is. On the other hand, Yun Xiajie was accustomed to it. He would always find his lover to be beautiful in his eyes, whether he was grinning out of delight or rage. Upon seeing this, Yun Xiajie couldn’t help but want to indulge his lover even more.

“What would you want to do, Jing’er?” The Second Young Master Yun enquired.

Bai Wuan’s tone grew frigid, and Zero flinched in horror as he added, “I want his soul to suffer for all eternity.”

Yun Xiajie kept his cool and stated, “I’ll beat him up and take his soul away, but I don’t have anything that can seize someone’s soul.”

A white orb materialized in Bai Wuan’s palm as soon as he touched his snowflake earrings. He handed Yun Xiajie this object, which has the appearance of a crystal ball with something within, and added, “A’Xia, will you kindly pour Hellfire into this?”

“Um.”

Yun Xiajie managed his fire elements and poured black flames into the crystal ball. The Second Young Master’s hell flames flood the interior of the crystal as if it were another dimension, it accepted the flames without problems. Bai Wuan then put some eternal ice on the areas where the hellfire couldn’t reach. The crystal ball created an interior image that was half ice and half fire in a matter of minutes.

When he saw this, Bai Wuan exclaimed, “It succeeded! Here, a portable soul prison. A’Xia. I will also lend you Juedi.”

Yun Xiajie questioned, “Juedi, can take away souls?”

The second Young Master Yun wondered, since that day, due to his injuries, he was knocked out and was unable to see Bai Wuan taking his father’s spirit from his body.

“Yes, Father Yun’s soul was taken away by me in the past. I had intended to take the devil’s soul first, but Father Yun can no longer utilize the vessel since it has long been polluted by death qi. It is preferable if he stays in the reincarnation pool and rebuilds his physical body.”

Yun Xiajie asked, “But before that, we must kill the devil first and bury father’s original vessel?”

Bai Wuan nodded in response to the Second Young Master Yun’s question and was no longer furious as before. He is now engaging in their customary flirtation with his sweetheart. Zero felt forgotten the entire time and was being fed unending dog food to bear on his own. He was about to start weeping.

Yun Xiajie began to shake the crystal ball that his beloved had placed in his hands while displaying an indifferent facial expression.

Yun Xiajie questioned, “If you ascend this time... How long do you need to return back?” He understood that when the devil is destroyed his beloved must return to where he came from.

Bai Wuan thought for a while and said, “Actually, I think you are supposed to come back with me. Hm~ we will only know when we got there I think.”

Sigh~

Yun Xiajie continued to flirt with Bai Wuan while concealing the crystal ball in his storage ring. “If I can go with you, that’s better,” he replied.

Their romantic moment was abruptly interrupted when Lu Yi and Jin Shiyan walked in to discuss their strategy, which would be put into action after a certain time had been invested in preparation.

As he waited for his next mission, Zero stood behind his lord and appeared to be a subordinate.

He was undoubtedly spotted by Jin Shiyan and Lu Yi.

“You two are too devoted to one other,” Lu Yi bemoans. “Even Jin Shiyan wasn’t like that with his fiancée when they were out in the open like this.”

“Shut up, you old single dog!” said Bai Wuan.

Bai Wuan’s remark that Lu Yi was a lonely old dog infuriated the latter. It may be stated that he is the sole member of his generation who hasn’t found a partner but that wasn’t his fault. He just didn’t have a partner. Meanwhile, Yun Huaxia of the same generation had already fulfilled his vows to Bai Qiyin. Bai Wuan and Yun Xiajie have always been a shameless couple, while Jin Shiyan and Bai Lili will soon be wed. In their generation, only the Lu brothers continued to be single.

“Who said I’m lonely? This old man is busy taking care of the brat at home,” Lu Yi said indignantly.

Bai Wuan teased, “You wouldn’t... don’t tell me... you like Lu Tian? Dude, that’s incest!”

At this point, Lu Yi was keeping his rage inside while seeming like a fried shrimp. Even though he is accustomed to Bai Wuan’s mocking, he still finds it bothersome.

“Incest, your ass!”

Jin Shiyan said, “Please don’t shout. We will get noticed by the enemies.”

“It’s fine,” said Lu Yi.

Bai Wuan said, “I’ve placed a noise canceling effect in the illusion formation around the camp. No one will notice us here unless the formation is broken.”

“Brat, you are still not used to A’Wuan’s preparations. He wouldn’t make a simple mistake such as that. Either way, let’s talk about what to do first?” said Lu Yi.

Bai Wuan said as he leaned his head on Yun Xiajie’s shoulder and played with their intertwined fingers, “No need for plans. I and A’Xia will focus on Xie Gui and the Xie Elders at Peak Golden Core. As for the rest you two should handle it with my subordinates.”

Lu Yi, Jin Shiyan, and Bai Wuan did not object when they heard this idea. In the end, they lack the strength to combat Peak Golden Core Cultivators. Jin Shiyan is in Early Golden Core Stage whereas Lu Yi is only at Mid-Golden Core. At least five Peak Golden Core should be present on the side of the enemies when Xie Gui, a Nascent Soul Cultivator, is leading. The only ones who can compete with them are Bai Wuan and Yun Xiajie who also reached the Nascent Soul Stage.

When Lu Yi turned to look at Zero, he could see that he was at least on the same stage as him and was standing behind Bei Wuan. He thought the man may be much more powerful.

“Where are the rest of your team?” asked Lu Yi to Zero.

Zero glanced at his lord who gestured that he is allowed to speak and responded to Lu Yi, “They are hiding within the group of the Xie Clan. We can use them as a surprise attack against the Xie Clan.”

“Wow~ you guys are bold! Aren’t you afraid that you’ll get caught?” asked Lu Yi in wonder.

Zero shook his head and replied, “We are not afraid of death.”

Lu Yi nods in agreement, praising the latter’s assurance and bravery.fr𝗲𝚎w𝒆𝚋𝘯𝚘ѵel. c𝗼𝐦

“As might be anticipated of your people, This man himself is fantastic and insane,” stated Lu Yi.

“I didn’t train them much. I merely gave them the information they wanted and needed to know,” Bai Wuan retorted casually.

Lu Yi questioned, “Did the Bai Clan even know you had individuals like this under your command?”

“Of course. That’s why I had to teach another group which would be delivered to Qiqi when he became the Sect Master of the Bai Lengshui Sect.” Bai Wuan said, “By the way, Shilu. How’s Lili?” He asked Shilu.

Jin Shiyan replies, “Lili chose to remain in the Capital, claiming that it was safer for her to do so. In addition, she has to learn how to manage the business connections I’ve developed and seek a few fresh recruits to join the Bai Lengshui Sect once Brother Wuan has rebuilt it.”

“After this conflict, I can concentrate on rebuilding the Bai Lengshui Sect and leave the disciple recruiting to Lili, while Qiqi should begin managing the Sect on his own. Talk about it with Big Brother Yun. He will have his Dao Ceremony with Qiqi jointly with you and Lili,” stated Bai Wuan.

What Bai Wuan claimed stunned everyone else besides Yun Xiajie. His younger siblings will marry before he does.

“You want your siblings to hold their Dao Ceremonies before yours and Jieye, does that sound right?” Lu Yi wondered.

“We will schedule our Dao Ceremony when everything has been resolved,” Bai Wuan remarked. “I and A’Xia discussed this together.”

The word “everything” was stressed by him. There’s little doubt that everything here had a different connotation than the Xie Clan or the devil held captive in the Lan Zhuayan Sect. When Lu Yi and Jin Shiyan learn this, they decide against asking any further questions. In any case, they couldn’t coerce Bai Wuan and Yun Xiajie into speaking.

Lu Yi snorted and said, “Well as long as you made your own plans. Just don’t forget to invite my Lu Weifeng Sect.”

“I hope I get invited to your Dao Ceremony as well, Brother Wuan, Yun Jieye,” said Jin Shiyan.

Yun Xiajie stated, “You will be invited.”

“Brat, I will make sure to prepare a nice gift for your Dao Ceremony. I am sure to attend if my sworn brother, Huaxia, would have his Dao Ceremony with you,” said Lu Yi.

“I will also send invitations to Senior Brother Lu and Brother Tian, of course. Hahaha,” Jin Shiyan said with a smile that seemed to contain all the happiness in the world.

Before the battle, Lu Yi and Jin Shiyan were having a pleasant chat. Bai Wuan smiled a little as he gazed tenderly at Yun Xiajie.

Bai Wuan suddenly inquired, “So~ Brother Wang, when will you be married?” He then began to tease this irritable older Lu once again.

“No one will take you as dumb if you don’t speak. Stop teasing me!” screamed Lu Yi.

Everyone chuckled at his response, and a general sense of joy pervaded the camp. Evidently, the others had overheard Bai Wuan teasing Lu Yi once more. On their trip here, this sight had already occurred several times, and they were accustomed to it. This is the calmness before the storm.
