843 14.119 Last Violet Star – (Past) Bai Qiyin’s Tears

As though their lives depended on it, every member of the Xie Clan wanted to stop Bai Qiyin from escaping. They even paid little attention to Zero and the rest of his team, concentrating only on obtaining Bai Qiyin. But they wouldn’t be allowed to, of course, by Yun Huaxia and Bai Wuan’s servants. To control the flying ice shards, Zero executed his strongest move while also using his qi. He made them fly like flying daggers at the members of the Xie Clan by using them as weapons.

Whoosh. Whoosh. Whoosh.

The members of the Xie Clan began to collapse one by one, either dead or injured. The group inside the formation had vanished by the time the array’s last activation had occurred. The only ones still fighting were the four men who activated the array. These guys, who worked for Bai Wuan, had no fear of dying. They have the ability to travel independently using space elements, and they can manipulate shadows using dark elements. They are Bai Wuan’s most skilled assassination and espionage squad.

The Xie Clan’s ordinary members even got engaged in the large combat that had taken place in the underground jail until it caused so much commotion that even involved the elders of the clan. The Xie Clan’s domain was once more engulfed in chaos.

On the other hand, Yun Huaxia, Bai Qiyin, Zero, and Jin Baihua emerged at the mountain region close to the Xie Clan’s outside borders on the opposite side of the array. For the four of them, there is nowhere safer than where they are right now, despite how frightening the forest seemed in the night.

There aren’t any other individuals in the area, as Zero observed as he turned to look around. In order to ensure Yun Huaxia and Bai Qiyin’s position is both secure and secret, he and his companion divided the other inmates into different routes. Looking at Jin Baihua and the other three, he commands them to remove their robes and requests that Yun Huaxia perform cleansing incantations on them. Just in case the Xie Clan left some imprints on them as trackers.

While Zero cast a critical eye over Jin Baihua, Yun Huaxia concentrated on his Dao Companion. He continued to implore the First Young Master of Yun to keep the acupoints of Jin Baihua sealed.

Zero spoke, “Sir Yun, please don’t unlock this man’s acupoints. We aren’t out of danger completely yet.”

.....

“I don’t mind but why?” asked Yun Huaxia.

“When the Xie Clansmen suddenly appeared,” Zero said, “It was strange. As if someone had told them about our escape. Most of them had focused on the cell where you escaped from and... Their obvious aim is the Little Lord. Why do they know that the Little Lord is escaping?”

Zero observes Jin Baihua’s response as he speaks, but the man’s acting is so skilled that Zero is unable to detect any flaws in his facial expressions. But the lord had always claimed that the more cunning a person is, the more they appear to have no involvement.

Jin Baihua said, “Senior Brother Yun, I didn’t do it! Those people beat me up, why would I help them!?”

“...” Yun Huaxia felt confused as well. Both Zero and Jin Baihua’s words had enough advantages.

Zero said, “I think it’s very simple. You... Like Sir Yun and... was jealous of the Little Lord.”

“What... are you trying to say? Of course! I admire Senior Brother Yun. His reputation is quite famous,” said Jin Baihua as he avoids Yun Huaxia showing his shyness.

Jin Baihua currently has the appearance of a fan meeting his hero. He can’t help but sneak glances at the person he admires because he wants to watch how he responds. However, he emerges as Zero and Bai Qiyin as a cunning little fox who wants to woo the First Young Master of Yun instead.

With the exception of his older brother, whom he most respects, and his lover, whom he loves the most, Bai Qiyin never manages his attitude toward other people.

“Watch your eyes! Brother Hua is mine!!” warned Bai Qiyin.

Even the first young master Yun was stunned speechless and blushing as though he had never anticipated his beloved to display such overt possessiveness. His sweetheart has always been reserved with him and may occasionally turn away from him if he feels uncomfortable. He differs from Bai Wuan, who would constantly and everywhere openly embrace and flirt with his younger brother. But it seems he thought things wrong, open possessiveness runs in the blood of the Bai Family.

Bai Qiyin was embraced by Yun Huaxia, who was overcome with joy and had a bright smile on his face.

Yun Huaxia spoke, “Yin’er~, I like you a lot too.”

“W-W-Who likes you!? Let me go!” said Bai Qiyin with a red face as a ripe tomato.

As he saw their interactions, Jin Baihua couldn’t help but sulk and express his hate. While Zero rolled his eyes and cautioned the adorable pair in front of him.

Zero said, “Please don’t forget we still have to escape. Sir Yun, please carry the little lord. We must run as fast as we can. Those guys would definitely send people after us.”

Yun Huaxia nods his head and follows the instructions. They changed into new garments and applied cleansing talismans to the trio. Jin Baihua was apprehensive about changing his robes since they are covered in talismans that belonged to the demonic cultivators he is studying. What he didn’t even anticipate was that Zero would rip his old robes into several pieces and carry him under his armpit like a bag of grain.

From the Xie Clan’s territory, they all flee. All of Zero’s friends bought time for them with their lives.

The last mission their master had assigned them was this one. They may serve the Lord in this world for all eternity once they finish it. An allegiance to someone even after they have passed away.

Meanwhile, early in the morning, in front of the Lan Zhuayan Sect, Cultivators in white, dark green, blue, and gold robes had congregated in a huge gathering. From the Lan Zhuayun Sect, Lu Weifeng Sect, Bai Lengshui Sect, and Jin Tiangui Sect, there are practitioners and disciples. Every group has a leader.

The cultivators led by Bai Wuan are those who are dressed in robes that are a close match to his own shade of blue. Those carrying sabers and donning dark green robes follow Lu Yi. In gold brocade garments, Jin Shiyan appeared before the disciples and cultivators. Finally, Yun Huaxia takes the lead among the men who were dressed in identical white robes.

It was determined that the Xie Clan issue will be resolved by the present generation. Although a few elders from each sect have also made the decision to move, the majority of Peak Golden Core cultivators with elder rank are still situated in the Lan Zhuayan Sect. Their top priorities are to safeguard the formation core and stop the devil from escaping from his cell. After all, the devil would be free to flee if the formation’s central structure were to be destroyed.

The Lan Zhuayun Sect’s Great Elder appeared to bid them farewell. The Yun Sect Master desired to do so, but his surreal form would only terrify the kids and their allies. Instead, he decides to delegate this responsibility to his younger brother.

Yun Xiayu warned, “Be careful. Think carefully before making a move. Always watch for ambushes and traps. Plan for escape routes and don’t be foolish to sacrifice your lives just to exterminate the enemies. Lastly... Come back alive!”

“Yes, Senior (Great Elder) Yun!!!”

They eventually started walking in the direction of the Xie Clan after saying a brief goodbye to the elders of each sect. Those with flying swords had flown, while those without them rode in carriages and on horses. It was established that Jin Shiyan would lead the group after Lu Yi as commander. The goal of Yun Xiajie and Bai Wuan is to overthrow Xie Gui, the clan leader of the Xie.

The expedition which usually took days only took a few hours to complete since each of them was given an Acceleration Talisman made by Bai Wuan. As they stopped for a little rest, they passed several towns and villages on their journey. No one had lost sight of their destination, even though they had seen the sun rise above their heads and illuminate the sky. They want to eradicate the wicked Xie Clan, which has linked itself with the devil race and the Demonic Cultivators, by destroying their strongholds only then they would be able to return.

—

Some cliffs near the West Territories...

Walking on land while carrying Bai Qiyin and Jin Baihua, Yun Huaxia, and Zero traverse. Fortunately, they have the strength to keep running for hours while being pursued by their attackers.

They lose their pursuits and hide in a cave on a cliff before the sun has fully risen. Both Zero and Yun Huaxia had bruises and injuries all over their bodies and were gasping from utilizing their qi excessively. Bai Qiyin and Jin Baihua, who were fully unharmed throughout the chase, were now tending to them.

Bai Qiyin spoke, “Brother Hua, unsealed my acupoints. I can help you fight!”

The other three gave him no response when Bai Qiyin brought up this subject. The Xie Clan had abolished his cultivation, but only Bai Qiyun was unaware of this.

Bai Qiyin saw their peculiar behavior, especially when he saw that his Dao Companion was averting his gaze.

“What’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?” he asked in confusion.

He was indirectly ridiculed by Jin Baihua, who despises him intensely. “Why don’t you attempt to feel if there is qi inside your body? Perhaps there isn’t anything like that in your body anymore. Hmp!”

The instant Jin Baihua brought up this subject, Zero moved. The Bai Lengshui Sect’s members are all aware of Bai Qiyin’s obsession with cultivation. Bai Qiyin would undoubtedly not be able to handle it if he suddenly lost it like this.

“You aren’t that lousy at appearing to be kind, but right now is not the correct moment for you to spout things,” Zero says as he pushes Jin Baihua in rage.

“Daoist Jin Baihua! Please shut up!” said Yun Huaxia as he lost a bit of his temper.

With a warning in his eyes, the First Young Master of the Yun Family turned to face Jin Baihua.

His eyes are filled with disappointment and a little bit of contempt. When he looked back, he noticed his Dao Companion staring at him as if he had just heard something unbelievable. Bai Qiyin made an effort to quickly comprehend what Jin Baihua had just spoken by trying to feel the qi in his body and as expected it resulted in something worse. Then they overheard the Bai Lengshui Sect heir murmuring.

Bai Qiyin murmurs, “I can no longer cultivate. B-But why me? What... What did I do wrong? My family is dead and my sect is destroyed. Without my cultivation can I still be the heir? Can I still be worthy of being Brother Hua’s Dao Companion?”

He had tears streaming from his eyes and appeared to have given up all hope in the world. For Bai Qiyin, his cultivation has been a source of support throughout his life. It is a link to his beloved and the sole means by which he may get back what his family had lost. However, now that he had even lost his cultivation, Bai Qiyin felt that nothing else was worth anything to him.

Yun Huaxua was frightened at seeing his sweetheart act in this manner. He was aware of his Yin’er’s ardent enthusiasm for cultivation. The First Young Master Yun, however, disagrees. He likes his Yin’er because he is himself, not because he is a cultivator.

Yun Huaxia speaks, “Yin’er! Listen to me, please. Don’t think like that. How can you say that you aren’t worthy of me? I don’t like you because of the Bai Bloodline or because you are a cultivator. I love you because you are Bai Qiyin. Please believe me. I will never abandon you. We can look for anyone who can cure you. Maybe A’Wuan can cure you. He is a divine doctor after all. Believe in us. Believe in me. Yin’er I will never abandon you.”

“No. That may be true for now. But if my cultivation can never return then... I myself cannot accept that I am worthy of you. I can’t bear to drag you down with me...” said Bai Qiyin as his tears kept falling.

Just consider the fact that Yun Huaxia would never age and he would instead become a mortal, only being able to live to the age of 100 and aging slowly. Just imagining how much different the two of them are would prevent Bai Qiyin from being able to live that way with his Dao Companion. If he no longer had a dao in him, would he, Bai Qiyin, still be worthy to be called as Yun Huaxia’s Dao Companion?
