“Brother Hai, calm down. Let’s ignore him.” Ding Chao said.

“This is a place where strength speaks for itself. A pretty boy like him will definitely not be able to stand tall. He might even be eliminated in the end.”

“Look at the way he walks. He’s sloppy. One look and you can tell he’s never trained. He can’t compare to people like us from the police academy.”

Zhou Xinghai mumbled as he ate.

“A person like him is no threat to me. He’s not even worthy of being my opponent.”

“You’re right to think that way. Look at him. He might be eliminated in these seven days.”

Zhou Xinghai nodded silently and continued eating.

The training would officially begin in the afternoon. This would decide whether this man was a mule or a horse.

“Brother Hai, Brother Hai, Instructor Gu is here.” Ding Chao said excitedly.

Zhou Xinghai looked up and saw Gu Yiran and another female colleague walking towards him.

Zhou Xinghai stood up and smiled at Gu Yiran.

“Instructor, let’s sit here and eat.”

Gu Yiran was stunned for a moment. She didn’t expect this new student to be so enthusiastic.

“I’m going to my colleagues’ place to eat. I won’t disturb you guys anymore.”

“Alright, take care, Instructor,” Zhou Xinghai said with a smile.

Gu Yiran nodded and walked to another table.

“Yiran, you’re so charming. Someone came up to you the moment you appeared.” The short-haired policewoman said.

“I remember that his name is Zhou Xinghai. He’s quite good-looking. Judging from the way he dresses, he should be quite qualified. Do you want to consider him?”

“Can you not be so nosy? I’m his instructor. It’s human nature to be polite.”

“You’re right. Although his appearance is not bad, he’s still a little inferior to that person called Lin Yi.”

“Don’t mention him to me. It’s annoying.”

“Huh?”

The short-haired policewoman was stunned for a moment. “It’s his first day here. He didn’t provoke you, right? Even if your period is coming, you can’t vent your anger on him.”

Gu Yiran’s face was cold. If it weren’t for him, her period wouldn’t have been delayed for so many days.

“I don’t think much of a gigolo like him. He probably doesn’t have much ability. If he doesn’t pass the training, he’ll be kicked out after this. We can’t let a black sheep like him in.”

“You’re just too susceptible to psychological suggestion. Just because someone is good-looking, how does that make them a gigolo? You can’t generalize like that. This is a problem that needs addressing.”

“Alright, just don’t mention him to me.”

Seeing that Gu Yiran was unwilling to talk about Lin Yi, the two of them did not continue this topic. They simply met up with their colleagues and ate together. Lin Yi and Zhang Peng sat together. The latter looked back at Zhou Xinghai and complained.

“This person is too much of a bootlicker. We’ve only just met. Why is he already hunting her down like a sycophant?”

“Don’t worry about it too much. Let him do his thing; it doesn’t really concern us.”

“How can you say it doesn’t concern us? If he ends up winning over Instructor Gu with his flattery, she’ll definitely treat him differently. This guy is really cunning.”

Lin Yi smiled and didn’t say anything. He felt that this matter didn’t have much to do with him, so there was no need to pay too much attention to it.

Regardless of whether Zhou Xinghai sucked up to Gu Yiran or not, her attitude towards him would not change. She would definitely make things difficult for him.

Over the next few days of training, he could only try to remain unaffected.

According to the rules, they only had an hour to eat. No matter how fast they ate, they had to gather at the field by 1230.

If he ate quickly, he could rest for a while longer. If he ate slowly, he would have to figure out a solution to take care of it.

Lin Yi and Zhang Peng ate at a decent speed, finishing their meal in half an hour. They then went to the field and waited until 12:30.

After a few simple exercises, more than 40 people automatically stood in three rows.

Soon, Li Xianghui and Gu Yiran walked over. They scanned the crowd and called out more than ten people, including Lin Yi.

“According to the relevant regulations, your hairstyles are not up to standard and need to be tidied up. Come with me now.”

Initially, the others were a little nervous, but when they heard that it was a problem with their hairstyles, they heaved a sigh of relief. This was not an excessive request.

Compared to the calmness of the others, Lin Yi was looking forward to it.

He had long wanted to try out a close-cropped hairstyle, but Ji Qingyan and Liang Ruoxu refused to let him, so his plan was put on hold.

Now, this wish could finally be fulfilled.

Gu Yiran rolled her eyes at Lin Yi and thought to herself,

“He’s just relying on his hairstyle to fool people. Who knows how ugly he’ll be after cutting his buzz cut.”

About half an hour later, Li Xianghui returned with the ten people. A few female students exclaimed in unison.

“It’s said that a buzz cut is the only true standard to test a man’s handsomeness. Now, 1 really believe it. I didn’t expect Lin Yi to be even more handsome after cutting his short hair.”

“This hairstyle is too manly. 1 think only he can pull it off.”

“This hairstyle and looks are simply versatile. 1 feel that he’s even better-looking than before.”

Gu Yiran looked at Lin Yi reluctantly and complained in her heart.

Why did she look so much more pleasing to the eye after cutting his hair?

Gu Yiran shook she head. He had to find a way to kick this habit. How could she have these thoughts?!

Lin Yi and the others entered the queue, and the afternoon training officially began.

Meanwhile, Lin Yi was very satisfied with his hairstyle.

He wondered how Ji Qingyan and Liang Ruoxu would react when they saw this.

He found it quite interesting to think about this.

“Let’s warm up and run two laps on the field,” Li Xianghui said.

Everyone was an adult and knew what they were here for. Naturally, they would not be like those university students who complained about the heavens during their first military training. They took the initiative to go to the track and jog to warm up.

“Gu, are you sure you don’t know Lin Yi?” Li Xianghui asked.

“I really don’t know him. Team Leader, don’t overthink.”

“I’m not overthinking it. It’s just that you are acting a little abnormal. If you know him, take care of him.”

“You really don’t need to take care of me.” Gu Yiran said.

“And we have to be stricter. We can’t recruit a good-for-nothing.”

Li Xianghui smiled. With this kind of attitude, only a fool would believe that they didn’t know each other.

Could it be her ex-boyfriend?

Soon, the warm-up ended and everyone gathered again.

The next half an hour consisted of very simple basic training.

For example, turning left and right, walking in unison, and walking in a straight line. These were the basic contents of university military training.

However, this segment ended after a simple training session. This was because it was not an important subject. There were still many other things to train.

“The next subject is training to jump and fall to the ground. I’ll demonstrate the specifics to everyone.”

There was a row of thick mats on the field. Li Xianghui stood on it while Gu Yiran squatted on the side with a plastic stick in her hand. Both of them got ready.

Then, Gu Yiran gave the signal and waved the plastic stick towards Li Xianghui’s leg.

At this moment, Li Xianghui jumped up high and did a standard frog jump. He dodged Gu Yiran’s stick and then lay motionless on the mat.

After the drill, Li Xianghui patted the dust off his body and looked at everyone present.

“The demonstration is over. Who’s willing to be the first to come up and try?”

“Me!”

Zhou Xinghai raised his hand and volunteered..
