“Really?” said the middle-aged woman in the dress.

“But is it appropriate since Director Li is not taking patients today?”

“You guys definitely can’t get an appointment, but I watched her grow up. My words carry weight.” Wei Erzhu said, “Wait here. I’ll help you arrange it.”

“Aiyo, thank you so much.”

“There’s no need to be so polite. It’s just a small matter.”

!!
Hearing their conversation, the people standing at the door of the other clinics walked toward Wei Erzhu.

“Master, we also want to see Director Li, but we can’t get a slot today. Can you think of a way to get Director Li to treat us?”

Wei Erzhu straightened his back when he saw that the people in the city were all dressed up and looking at him for help.

“No problem. As long as I go in and say a word, I can get all of you appointments. However, everyone has to queue up. One by one.”

“That’s no problem. Come, come, come. Let’s go line up now. When this master finishes his check up, it’ll be our turn.”

Because of his words, these city people obediently queued up. Wei Erzhu was exceptionally satisfied.

Although he was from the countryside and did not have much money, these people obediently listened to him.

At the thought of this, the Wei family straightened their backs and walked into Li Chuhan’s consultation room.

However, Li Chuhan’s expression was even uglier than before.

She had heard everything that happened outside the door just now.

Them doing this had caused a mess!

Lin Yi was right.

These people were too greedy.

Seeing Li Chuhan, Wei Erzhu’s expression was still very stern, as if he had something to say to Li Chuhan.

“Girl, the registration fee for the doctor you recommended to me is too expensive. He actually asked me for 84 yuan. In the county hospital, the hospital director’s registration fee is only 11 yuan.”

“My cost is 146. Which one do you think is appropriate?”

Wei Erzhu stopped talking and looked a little embarrassed. In that case, 84 yuan was far more suitable.

“Alright, let the doctor check you first. We’ll talk about the rest later,” Lu Ronghua said.

“Yes, yes, yes. Let’s do this first.” Wei Erzhu sat on the chair and stretched out his wrist.

“Girl, please take a look.”

“I’m a western doctor, not a traditional Chinese doctor. There’s no need to take your pulse,” Li Chuhan said.

“Let’s talk about your condition first. Where are you feeling unwell? What’s your reaction?”

“I just feel uncomfortable in my heart. Sometimes, my hand and neck will hurt too. That’ll feel especially uncomfortable.”

Li Chuhan took the consultation card and scanned it on the computer as she said,

“This symptom is a little like acute angina. Let’s go to the fourth floor for an electrocardiogram and cardiac ultrasound first. I’ll see what’s going on and then arrange the next treatment plan.”

After saying that, Li Chuhan pushed the consultation card back and prepared to let them go for a checkup.

“Girl, can I just take this to see a doctor?”

“Go ahead. There aren’t many people around right now, so you’ll get a result soon.”

“Don’t I need to mention your name?”

Li Chuhan frowned slightly. In the end, she still wrote a note. “Bring this over. They will give you a good checkup.”

Li Chuhan agreed because Zheng Binjiang’s name was written on the consultation card.

“Okay, okay, okay. I’ll go over now.”

The three of them pushed open the door and heard Wei Erzhu say,

“Everyone, wait a moment. I’ll be done with my treatment soon. I’ll let you in after I’m done.”

“Alright, alright, there’s no hurry,” the people in the queue said gratefully.

A few minutes later, the Wei family rushed back.

“Girl, what’s going on? We were on our way to do an electrocardiogram. Why is that doctor still asking me for an invoice? Moreover, he said that I didn’t pay and they won’t do it for me.”

Lin Yi and Li Chuhan were stunned.

“If you don’t pay, you naturally won’t be able to do it. Isn’t this obvious?”

How could he even ask such a stupid question?

“If you don’t pay, of course they won’t take the scan for you. The hospital’s equipment isn’t free-to-use either,” Li Chuhan said.

“But aren’t you the director of this hospital? You even specially wrote a note for me. Do I really have to spend money to see a doctor?” Wei Erzhu said matter-of-factly.

“Also, I asked around. It costs more than 500 yuan to do an electrocardiogram and a heart ultrasound. That’s too much.”

“Although I’m the director of this hospital, the hospital doesn’t belong to my family. I have to follow the hospital’s rules and regulations. Spending money is a must,” Li Chuhan said.

“The note I wrote for you just now has already crossed my bottom line. I really can’t do anything else.”

“So you’re saying that I have to spend money to get you to treat me?” Wei Erzhu asked confidently.

“What else? Where do you go to see a doctor without spending money?”

“Then I won’t take an the scan anymore. Take my pulse.” Wei Erzhu stretched out his arm again. “The doctors in the Huaxian Medical Hospital will know what my illness is once they take my pulse. Their processes aren’t as troublesome as yours.”

“I’ve already said that this is Western medicine, not Huaxian medicine. If you want to get your pulse taken, you’re in the wrong place.”

“Aren’t you the department director? Don’t you guys know how to treat patients without using equipment? If not, your doctors too unskilled. If others can understand the radiographic films, won’t they be able to become doctors themselves?”

Li Chuhan took a deep breath and forcefully suppressed the impatience in her heart.

However, at this moment, Lin Yi spoke.

“You have a point. An illness like angina is not a serious illness. The worst outcome is a dead person. It’s not a big deal. You can just go back and treat it yourself. It will save you money.”

“You’re just a soldier. Do you have the right to speak?”

Wei Erzhu waved his hand impatiently. “I’m not taking the scans anymore. Get me some medicine from the hospital. I’ll go home and take it.”

“How can I get you some medicine?”

“Doesn’t the hospital have its own pharmacy? You’re a doctor here, so you should get the medicine for free. Just give me some. I’m not making things difficult for you, right?”

“Hospital medicine is sold to the public. You can’t just take it.”

“You can’t even take medicine casually?” Wei Erzhu obviously didn’t believe her. “Are you kidding me? That Liu Er kid in town works in a cigarette factory in the city. He has a rule whereby he can smoke as he pleases.”

“There’s also Fatty Sun’s son. He works in a winery in the county and drinks white wine casually.”

“You’re a doctor. Isn’t it natural for you to take the hospital’s medicine?”

Li Chuhan was already on the verge of breaking down from such a bizarre statement.

Why didn’t these people have any common sense?

However, at this moment, Lin Yi, who had saved her before, appeared once again.

“Didn’t you just say that you can smoke as much as you want in the smoke factory? You can drink as much wine as you want in the wine factory. The medicine in our hospital can also be eaten as you please.”

“Look, your man has told the truth. You were just fooling me just now and didn’t want to give it to me, right?”

“Don’t be anxious. My boss didn’t lie to you. You can take any medicine in our hospital, but you can’t bring it outside hospital grounds. Do you need me to get you some euthanasia? Do you want to take it now?”
