“Um…”

Lin Yi didn’t expect Li Chuhan to ask this question.

It had been so long since then. Did she really care about it so much?

“It was pitch-black underwater. Even if I wanted to look, I wouldn’t be able to see anything.”

“Oh, that’s fine. Go off now.”

!!
“Then I’m leaving.”

After Lin Yi left, Li Chuhan found a medical thesis that she had stored previously. She wanted to read it to kill time.

After reading one line, her body froze on the chair.

Although it was a little dark underwater, there were lights on the diving equipment!

At the thought of this, Li Chuhan inexplicably became nervous, but she was too embarrassed to ask further.

Pursing her lips, she quietly picked up the osmanthus cake beside her and looked at the medical thesis on the computer.

At one in the morning, when Li Chuhan returned to the lounge, she found Lin Yi sleeping soundly on the top bunk.

She took out a blanket from the cabinet and covered him with it before lying down.

The next morning, when Director Wang arrived at work, he happened to see the two of them walking out of the lounge. The atmosphere was a little awkward.

“Ah, Brother Lin, Director Li, why are you two only getting up now?” Qiao Xin asked.

“I was fooling around until late yesterday. Fortunately, no one disturbed my rest, so I slept until now.”

“Hehe, it’s fine as long as you and Director Li are having fun.”

“Alright, go to work. I’m heading home first.”

“Uh-uh.”

Lin Yi and Li Chuhan changed their clothes and left the hospital.

“Are you going to have breakfast?” Lin Yi asked casually when they got off the elevator.

“Are you going to eat?”

“Qiao Xin said that the Lisi Buns at the entrance are quite delicious. I want to try them.”

“Then let’s go together.”

“Let’s go.”

Ring!

The two of them had just gotten off the elevator when Lin Yi’s phone rang. It was Zhao Qi.

“Principal Zhao, why are you looking for me?”

Lin Yi thought about it. It had been a while since he left school, and he hadn’t called Zhao Qi in a long time.

He was probably calling this time for something.

“It’s nothing serious. I just wanted to ask Teacher Lin what you’ve been busy with recently. Do you have time to drop by the school? I made some good tea. You can bring it back and try it.”

Zhao Qi was a smart person. Even if he had something to say, he would not say it directly. After being in the administrative department for so many years, he was an expert in formalities.

“Alright, I’ll go over whenever you are available.”

Lin Yi guessed that Zhao Qi definitely had something to discuss. He couldn’t disrespect him.

“Tomorrow afternoon, then. Is that convenient for you?”

“Okay, I’ll come to your place after lunch tomorrow.”

“Don’t eat by yourself. I’ll arrange for some food for you here. We can catch up.”

“We’re all family. There’s no need to be so polite. I’ll look for you tomorrow afternoon.”

“Then it’s settled. See you tomorrow.”

After a simple chat, Lin Yi hung up. Li Chuhan asked softly, “Do you have something on tomorrow afternoon?”

Lin Yi nodded. “Someone asked me out for tea in the afternoon. Is everything alright at the hospital?”

“It’s fine. There will only be a surgery the day after tomorrow. If you have something to do, go ahead. I can handle things here.”

“Okay.”

The two of them walked out side by side. Just as they walked out of the door, they heard someone shout,

“Big Girl, Big Girl.”

Lin Yi was fine, but he noticed that Li Chuhan was stunned.

He turned around and saw three plainly dressed people jogging towards him.

Two of them were old, and the other was a young man in his thirties. He had a unique appearance and had a thick accent. He looked like he was from another city.

“Uncle Wei, why are you here?”

Seeing Li Chuhan greet the three of them, Lin Yi understood what was going on.

This could be a relative from her hometown.

“I’m here to see a doctor, so I came to look for you. I didn’t expect to see you at the door,” the middle-aged man said casually.

The middle-aged man’s name was Wei Erzhu. The people standing beside him were his wife, Lu Ronghua, and his son, Wei Daqiang.

“Girl, I heard that you’re doing well in the hospital. You should have quite a lot of say in the hospital, right?” Lu Ronghua said.

Li Chuhan combed his hair. “I know the directors in the hospital quite well. What kind of illness do you want to get checked? I’ll recommend a good doctor to you.”

“No need, no need. We can just get you to do it.” Lu Ronghua said.

“Your Uncle Wei said that his heart hasn’t been feeling well these past few days, and his blood pressure is a little high. I heard from your father that you are a heart specialist, so I want you to take a look. Oh right, are you the director or the deputy director now?”

“Director,” Li Chuhan replied.

“That’s good.” Wei Erzhu slapped his thigh. “We were worried when we came here. We were afraid that you were just a deputy director. Now, come and treat me.”

Lin Yi frowned. What was she talking about?

The deputy director is not qualified to treat you?

Moreover, even if you were Li Chuhan’s relatives, you had to go through the relevant procedures to see a doctor. Why did you treat the hospital like your house?

“I worked the night shift yesterday, so I’m taking the day off. I’ll recommend the deputy director of our department to you. He’s pretty good at what he does, and he’s as experienced as I am. I’ll give him a call later, and you can ask him to perform the check up.”

“Don’t be like that. How can an deputy chief physician be as good as a chief physician? It’s better if you check me. I don’t trust others,” Wei Erzhu said.

“You’re right. The doctor Director Li wants to arrange for you is Director Zheng,” Lin Yi said.

“Director? Didn’t the eldest girl say just now that she’s the director? Could it be that there are two directors in a department?”

“That’s right. My boss is the director, but there’s another Director Zheng in our department. He can just treat you.”

“Huh?” The Wei family was confused. They might not have studied, but they knew that there was only ever one leader in a place.

If two leaders worked together, wouldn’t it cause a mess?

“Alright, Lin Yi.”

Li Chuhan understood what Lin Yi was thinking, but it wasn’t good to beat around the bush like this.

“The Director Zheng he’s talking about is surnamed Zheng, it’s not his official position.”

“So that’s what you mean.” Wei Erzhu said, “Little girl, why is your subordinate spouting nonsense? He’s confusing me. Go back and talk to him. When did a small soldier get to speak in a meeting between generals?”

Li Chuhan looked at Lin Yi apologetically, hoping that he wouldn’t mind.

Lin Yi naturally cared about such a trivial matter.

He just felt that these people were a little retarded. They couldn’t recognize tell their own status.

“Uncle Wei, didn’t you want to see a doctor? Go now. There will be more people later.” Li Chuhan said.

“Didn’t I say just now? We don’t want the deputy director to check him.” Wei Erzhu said.

“What’s wrong? Are you disowning your poor relatives in the countryside now that you’re working in the city? Why are you making excuses when I’m looking for you?”
