I Can See Through All Things Information

Chapter 1490: Chapter 885: Severing Karma, Sacrifice of the Ancient Sages

Lu Qing heard the words ”involved in another secret” and his heart stirred. He quickly asked, ”Master, what is this other secret? Please enlighten me.”

The Gui Xu Taoist looked at him with deep eyes, as if recalling those long-buried past events.

His ethereal figure slightly fluttered, revealing a complex expression in his eyes, a combination of respect, emotion, and an indescribable heaviness.

After a moment, he slowly began to speak.

”Child, you just asked me why there are so few records of those ancient Great Powers in the starry sky today.

I tell you now, it is not because time has passed, books have been lost, or descendants have forgotten.

But because those Great Powers themselves personally erased that part of history.”

Lu Qing was taken aback: ”Erased it themselves?”

The Gui Xu Taoist nodded, his tone solemn: ”That year, the fragment of Will left behind by the Xuanhua Great Power told me everything.

Those matters were hidden in the deepest part of his corpse; unless you are destined, you cannot touch it at all.

I also sensed the existence of that Will by coincidence when my incarnation entered the Dark Abyss.”

He paused and continued: ”In those years, that group of Great Powers who set out to Otherworld, when using Soul Search on those evil creatures that first invaded, already knew the terror of the enemy opposite.

They are horrifying beings that even the Great Powers cannot underestimate, with numbers and power far beyond their imagination.

Those evil creatures were not ordinary demons but a complete civilization, a civilization that lives by devouring the World Origin.”

”Their world is broader and more ancient than our starry sky.

Their history is longer than ours.

Their strong ones are more numerous than ours.

And those first invaders were merely the vanguard, cannon fodder to test our strength.”

The Gui Xu Taoist’s voice sank, carrying weight.

”Those ancient Great Powers understood that what they faced was not a simple battle but a life-and-death war. This departure might very well be a final farewell; they possibly could never return.”

”But they did not flinch.” The Gui Xu Taoist’s voice carried respect. ”They knew that if those evil creatures invaded this starry sky, the result would be catastrophic.

All Life Realms, all living creatures, would be devoured completely.

So they chose to strike proactively, using their lives to win a sliver of Vitality for this starry sky.”

Lu Qing listened quietly, a spontaneous feeling of respect for those ancient sages arose within him.

The Gui Xu Taoist continued: ”However, before leaving, they did one more thing.”

He looked at Lu Qing, his gaze heavy.

”To prevent any chance, they not only intended to completely seal the channels and coordinates of this world, but also collectively used a Supreme Divine Power to sever the memory of all living beings towards them.”

Lu Qing’s pupils slightly contracted: ”Sever the memory?”

The Gui Xu Taoist nodded: ”Exactly, this divine skill is called ’Severing Technique’.

After its execution, the cause and effect link between living beings and them would be greatly weakened.

Those who once interacted with them would gradually forget their existence.

Those who once benefited from their kindness would fail to recall their faces.

The descendants who once passed down their stories would no longer remember those heroes’ names.”

He sighed and continued: ”This is an extremely resolute contingency plan.

Those ancient Great Powers, to protect this starry sky, were not only willing to die, but even desired for future generations to completely forget them.

They did not want anyone to know of their existence, did not want anyone to be aware of that great war.

Nor wanted anyone to know that beyond that distant starry sky, there existed such a terrifying group of enemies.”

”What are they afraid of?” Lu Qing asked.

The Gui Xu Taoist replied: ”They feared that if someone among them fell into enemy hands, their home world’s coordinates would be revealed through Soul Search.

Fearful of the possibility that the enemy might trace back here through Cause and Effect Technique.

Even more fearful, if descendants out of curiosity, actively seek those evil creatures, thereby inviting disaster.”

”Therefore, they chose the most thorough method, to be forgotten.”

The Gui Xu Taoist looked at Lu Qing, his gaze profound.

”Thus, after their departure and the sealing of this world’s coordinates and channels.

In the home world, aside from a few with profound cultivation or unique talents.

The vast majority of living creatures in the starry sky lost memory of those Great Powers.

The heroic deeds once passed down, those numerous feats, became blurry, distant, and ultimately vanished completely.”

”As time passed, records of them in the starry sky gradually drowned within history; occasionally, some ancient texts might find a incomprehensible fragment, but it is fragmented and its truth difficult to discern.”

Lu Qing heard this, and an indescribable emotion surged in his heart.

So it was.

Those ancient Great Powers were not forgotten by history, rather they chose actively to be forgotten.

They exchanged their lives for peace in this starry sky, to the extent of not wanting later generations to remember their names.

This magnanimity, this manner, this spirit of sacrifice, made Lu Qing stand in solemn respect.

He recalled the scene he saw in that Broken Jade Illusion, the black and white figures battling in the starry sky, the three blood-red figures suddenly appearing, the Jade Ruyi being shattered, the white figure severely injured fleeing.
