I Can Devour Spirits

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: The Erotic Artisan

Ximen Kankan looked at Duan Rong swallowing with an expression of satisfaction and said, ”What do you think, Brother Duan? Never seen anything so explosive, huh? I tell you, I’ve got a lot more of these!”

Duan Rong touched his nose, sneering inwardly.

This Spring Palace was just a scene on an attic in a large mansion, with two naked little figures indulging in daylight debauchery!

Ninety percent of the picture is just background, and the real focus is those two vague and indistinct figures. Honestly, you can’t even clearly see their posture!

For someone like Duan Rong, who has seen 200G HD uncompressed images, this is nothing.

But Duan Rong didn’t intend to expose Ximen Kankan. He smiled, pointing at the Spring Palace in front, asking, ”How did that scribble turn into this Spring Palace?”

Ximen Kankan’s face showed a proud expression again. ”Quite impressive, right?”

”Impressive!” Duan Rong immediately praised, ”Truly magical!”

Ximen Kankan grinned widely, very satisfied with Duan Rong’s compliments, and now much more patient, explained, ”I forced Lao Qin, the procurement manager, to concoct a potion for me!”

”Lao Qin was a wandering herbalist, discovered by my father, who now manages the supplies for three herbal shops.”

”Don’t underestimate this old guy, he’s familiar with the properties of various rare herbs, and he’s a trove of eccentric prescriptions.”

”This potion is made from black donkey hoof, combined with peach gum, chicken blood, and mirabilite, mixed in a specific ratio, and processed through several crafts! A light roast makes it transparent for two hours, after which it automatically returns to purple-black!”

Duan Rong touched his nose, with a look of contemplation in his eyes.

”Do you want to ask why use this potion for crafting the Spring Palace?” Ximen Kankan glanced at Duan Rong, who appeared contemplative, and guessed.

Actually, Duan Rong was thinking about how to ask Ximen Kankan for the potion, but since Ximen Kankan had a lot of drama, seeing Duan Rong, he felt a certain affinity and started rambling.

Duan Rong smiled awkwardly, neither confirming nor denying.

Ximen Kankan unexpectedly sighed, a look of deep resentment on his chubby face almost making Duan Rong burst into laughter.

”It’s to prevent my father from rummaging through my things! My Spring Palace collection was discovered by him once, followed by a severe beating! And after the beating which hurt but healed quickly, he went on to burn all my precious collection! What kind of damned father acts like that?”

Duan Rong kept silent, not saying a word about their father-son business!

Duan Rong thought for a moment, then directly asked, ”Master Ximen, do you have any of that potion to spare?”

Ximen Kankan, hearing this, looked at Duan Rong with wary eyes. ”Of course there is some to spare. But I still need it for myself, considering collecting is my lifelong ambition.”

Ximen Kankan essentially meant absolutely not to share.

Duan Rong chuckled, eyeing the Spring Palace in front, saying, ”Honestly, this Spring Palace is quite mediocre!”

”What?” Ximen Kankan was furious; this was more maddening than being questioned about his manhood, and mockingly said, ”Careful you don’t bite your tongue. If you can show me something better, I’ll kneel and call you grandpa!”

”No need! I don’t want to be called old!” Duan Rong deliberately egged on Ximen Kankan, saying, ”Just let me have a bottle of your potion!”

”You...” Ximen Kankan’s anger made him speechless.

”Fine!” Ximen Kankan said with determination, ”What if you can’t present something better?”

”Then I’ll kneel and call you grandpa!”

”I’ll hold you to it! You better not play tricks! Let’s set a time. When will you bring the painting?” Ximen Kankan, confident in his success, wanted to lock the deal.

A gleam lit Duan Rong’s eye. ”7 p.m.!”

”Deal!”

”Alright!” said Duan Rong, then turned back directly to Yuan Shun Escort Agency.

He had barely left the courtyard when Ximen Kankan chased to the gate, exclaiming from behind, ”Kid! Don’t break your word!”

”I always stand by my word!” Duan Rong retorted.

Ximen Kankan spat towards Duan Rong’s back, saying, ”Pah! What nonsense! I’ve seen all the colors of Spring, what kind of Spring Palace haven’t I seen? I refuse to believe you have anything better!”

His positive impression of Duan Rong was completely obliterated then! He couldn’t stand anyone questioning his Spring Palace collection, it was like squeezing his manhood!

Duan Rong left West Gate Mansion, walking quickly back to Yuan Shun Escort Agency, returned to his dormitory.

Once inside, he began preparing dye and grinding!

Duan Rong set up his painting stand, opened the stool, sitting before the easel!

Duan Rong picked up a brush, dipped the tip lightly in ink, then with a quick thought, started sketching across the paper.

First, he used ink to outline the contours!

Then Duan Rong swapped brushes, generously dipping in dye, meticulously applying on paper!

With solid painting skills and strong wrist strength honed through martial arts, his suspended wrist was as steady as Mount Tai, delicately outlining with the pen tip!

Duan Rong painted for nearly an hour!

Sweat began forming faintly on his forehead!

He intended to make this Spring Palace impressive enough to awe Ximen Kankan at once!

Duan Rong absorbed the essence of the Spring Palace Magic Brush and the spirit of the grand beauty, combined with his previous life’s extensive viewing, compiled a rich repository of material in this regard.

The ancients were too reserved!

Hence, most Spring Palaces were allusive, almost bordering on obscenity!

But Duan Rong’s masterpiece for Ximen Kankan was a vivid close-up!

”Let me show you what a Spring Palace truly is!”

Duan Rong finally focused on the area between the legs of the person in the painting, carefully suspended the brush, thoroughly sketching stroke by stroke...

His sweat dripped from his chin, but Duan Rong, fully concentrated, was completely unaware...

Dusk has passed, twilight surrounds, and the clock is about to strike 7 p.m.!

If Duan Rong didn’t show up on time, Ximen Kankan planned to head directly to Yuan Shun Escort Agency, demanding Duan Rong to kowtow.

”Oh, trying to stand me up!”

Ximen Kankan jumped off the Grandmaster’s Chair, preparing to mount a horse to catch Duan Rong at Yuan Shun Escort Agency, when suddenly a shadow rapidly approached in the dusk!

The shadow held a scroll of artwork, calling out, ”Light the lamps!”

Ximen Kankan was startled, finally recognizing the man as Duan Rong!

The Snow Hidden Residence was his mother’s old place. After she died, this courtyard remained vacant except for when hosting friends. Without his command, servants wouldn’t light lamps here!

Ximen Kankan pulled out a flint, lighting the candle!

Seeing the artwork in Duan Rong’s hand as just a sheet of paper, even without mounting, Ximen Kankan snorted coldly!

Throughout his journey holding this grand Spring Palace, Duan Rong was anxious that if a passerby caught a glimpse, his reputation would be ruined!

At least he’d be tagged as a pervert for sure!

Duan Rong unfurled the paper in the yellow glow of candlelight!

Ximen Kankan took one glance then gasped deeply!

His whole body turned to stone!

After a long pause, Ximen Kankan breathed out, his eyes shining, exclaiming, ”A masterpiece! A legacy! Humanity’s brilliance!”

Ximen Kankan took the painting from Duan Rong’s hand as if possessed, repeatedly crying out, ”How can there be something so good? How can there... be such a thing?”

Watching the artwork, suddenly Ximen Kankan noticed the ink hadn’t dried; a chill ran through him, turning his shocked face towards Duan Rong, with trembling hands asking, ”Did... you paint this?”
