“It’s too expensive!” Lu Ye had no idea if the price was exorbitant, but he reckoned it wouldn’t be wrong to say that.

Then, they started haggling over the price. Although Lu Ye didn’t lack Contribution points, he didn’t want to squander them. After a round of negotiation, they eventually set the price at 23,000 Contribution points.

Lu Ye lifted his hand and a Sacred Pact appeared on his palm. He quickly set the conditions and left his Brand before passing it to the woman, who took it and left her Brand as well. Just like this, the Sacred Pact had been established.

“I’ll contact you in half a month, little friend. Just wait for my good news,” the woman said.

“Why does it take such a long time?”

The previous upgrade only took three days. Even if a longer time was needed this time, it shouldn’t take half a month.

“I have other matters to attend to,” the woman explained. The main reason was that she had reached a critical point in her cultivation. If Lu Ye hadn’t contacted her, she wouldn’t have left her secluded room.

Lu Ye nodded as he didn’t mind waiting for half a month. He then left the Vault of Providence, and when he came to his senses, he heard Yi Yi and Shui Yuan talking. Detecting Lu Ye’s aura, Shui Yuan came over to take a look at him.

“Second Senior Sister!” Lu Ye turned around and saluted her.

It had been quite a while since they last met, and Shui Yuan’s aura seemed to have become more vigorous. It was apparent that her cultivation had improved, and it showed that she was truly gifted.

When a cultivator was in the Divine Ocean Realm, it was difficult for him to improve his cultivation. There were quite many Divine Ocean Realm Masters in Jiu Zhou, but they were mostly in the Fifth Order and below. Divine Ocean Realm Masters above the Fifth Order only made up 30 per cent of the total.

Considering Shui Yuan’s progress, it was apparent that the Fifth Order wouldn’t be her limit.

“Why have you come back at this point?” Although she was pleased to see Lu Ye and Yi Yi, the Fight for Supremacy was ongoing. As such, she was worried about Lu Ye for coming back at this point, and she wondered if he had come across any trouble.

“I’ve come back to ask Master Yu to upgrade my saber,” Lu Ye explained.

Shui Yuan was aware that the Inviolable Saber had been upgraded by Master Yu several times. Upon learning that Lu Ye wasn’t in trouble, she became at ease.

Looking at Lu Ye, she couldn’t help but think that his growth in power was rapid as he was an Eighth-Order Cloud River Realm Master now. Although she had been staying in Jiu Zhou, she had heard about the storm Lu Ye had kicked up on the Cloud River Battlefield. Knowing that Lu Ye wasn’t a good-for-nothing who had powerful cultivation but with no skills to match, she was gratified.

After talking to Shui Yuan for a bit, Lu Ye took Yi Yi to see the Sect Master.

The old man was as energetic as ever. He didn’t try to teach him anything. Instead, he listened to Lu Ye and Yi Yi talk about their adventures, and he would laugh from time to time.

Certainly, he was pleased with Lu Ye, a disciple whom he hadn’t expected he would accept into the Sect.

Lu Ye was the main contributor to the success of the Crimson Blood Sect. If not for the fact that he became a disciple of the Crimson Blood Sect, it would’ve been expelled when the Heavens ranked the Sects several years ago, and it certainly wouldn’t have flourished.

A moment later, Lu Ye left the place while Yi Yi stayed.

Lu Ye was a disciple of the Crimson Blood Sect, but Yi Yi was the Sect Master’s direct disciple. He had taught her all the spells she knew.

Since they finally met again, he naturally had to examine Yi Yi’s progress and teach her something even more abstruse.

A tantalising aroma wafted from the kitchen on the Summit of Fortitude as Shui Yuan was preparing food. Lu Ye entered the kitchen and assisted her as the two of them chatted joyfully.

Although there were many disciples in the Crimson Blood Sect now, only a small number of people stayed in the main Sect. Occasionally, some disciples would return from the Spirit Creek Battlefield, but they would leave again in a hurry. The main reason was that most disciples were weak, so they stayed on the Spirit Creek Battlefield to get some training.

On the other hand, Lu Ye and the other disciples in the Cloud River Realm had been staying on the Cloud River Battlefield.

The Crimson Blood Sect wasn’t comparable to the other full-fledged Sects in this regard, but things would change as time passed. When all the disciples became fairly powerful one day, all one hundred peaks would be bustling with noise.

Lu Ye was looking forward to that day.

“Yi Yi told me that your Fourth Senior Brother has been cultivating with you,” Shui Yuan said while placing some food on Lu Ye’s plate during the meal. “When you go back, tell him to drink less. Don’t be like the Northern Profound Sword Master.”

It was the first time Lu Ye heard that Li Baxian’s drinking habit was influenced by the Northern Profound Sword Master.

“Don’t worry, Senior Sister. Fourth Senior Brother has been drinking less since his ascension to the Cloud River Realm.”

In the past, Li Baxian was dejected over the fact that his Spiritual Points were damaged, which made it impossible for him to improve his cultivation, so he started drinking wine to ease his sorrow. Now that his Spiritual Points had been repaired, and that he had ascended to the Cloud River Realm, he had indeed been drinking less.

At the very least, Lu Ye had only seen him drink once on the Cloud River Battlefield, which was when he returned with Hua Ci several days ago. Li Baxian only drank some wine during the welcome-back party.

After the meal, Lu Ye bid Shui Yuan farewell and headed to the Summit of Clarity to see Lady Yun.

Although he wasn’t the Sect Master’s disciple, he could be considered Lady Yun’s disciple. Despite having a divine item such as the Tree of Glyphs, he had built his foundation in the Way of Glyphs under Lady Yun’s guidance.

While on his way, he caught some fish from the lake to be given to her as a present.

Lady Yun was still as demure and elegant as ever. Now that Lu Ye was well-versed in the Way of Glyphs, Lady Yun no longer had to painstakingly teach the man everything like she used to in the past.

Lu Ye only had to bring up his doubts, and Lady Yun would answer his questions. She could only teach him the basics, and he had to rely on himself if he wanted to progress further.

After the session, Lu Ye gained some new insights. Naturally, Lady Yun was pleased with her disciple, though their relationship wasn’t official.

She had seen countless people in her life, but Lu Ye was the only one with the best aptitude in the Way of Glyphs she had ever seen. That was why she wanted to take him on as a disciple back then.

Unfortunately, the Sect Master intervened. She was so furious that she got into a fight with the Sect Master.

It wasn’t that the Sect Master wanted to ruin Lu Ye’s future; it was just that he knew that whatever his stance, Lady Yun would still teach Lu Ye everything.

He just wanted to get a powerful helper for the Crimson Blood Sect in such a way. It’d be best if Lady Yun could become the Elder or the Deputy Sect Master of the Sect. That way, Lu Ye would have a reason to be her disciple.

Also, Lady Yun was a famous Glyphweaver in Jiu Zhou. With her protection, Lu Ye would be safer when he ventured into the outside world.

The Sect Master couldn’t take him on as a disciple because he had too many enemies. If Lu Ye was directly related to him, he would only get killed sooner.

Unfortunately, the Sect Master’s wish wasn’t granted, and he was beaten up by the woman.

Since then, Lady Yun had never brought up the topic of accepting Lu Ye to be her disciple, but she had still been giving the man guidance without any reservations.

“Thanks for your guidance, Honoured Master.” Lu Ye rose from the chair and saluted the woman.

Lady Yun was startled for a moment before putting on a smile. “What did you just call me?”

“Honoured Master!”

Lu Ye had always wanted to call her that. Even though their relationship wasn’t official, he had always regarded the woman as his Honoured Master. Moreover, it was awkward for him to keep calling the woman ‘Lady Yun’. Therefore, he was more than willing to call her ‘Honoured Master’.

Lady Yun donned a brighter smile and nodded repeatedly. “Good! Good! Good!”

Her gaze was filled with fondness and amiability as she felt that she was closer to Lu Ye in their relationship now.

“That old fart doesn’t allow me to take you on as a disciple. Let’s see if he can stop you from calling me Honoured Master!” Lady Yun appeared smug all of a sudden. She had the urge to go to the Summit of Fortitude and show off in front of the Sect Master.

Lu Ye didn’t dare say anything, wondering why the two of them were always bickering with each other despite their old age. More importantly, they had feelings for one another.

Lady Yun was a Divine Ocean Realm Master, after all. Although she was elated, she still calmed herself down soon. She looked at Lu Ye and said, “I know you’ve made a name for yourself in the outside world, and many people hate you and want to eliminate you badly. I don’t need you to be more humble, for it’s too late to do that now. However, if you come across trouble you cannot solve or enemies you cannot defeat one day, you can try bringing up my name. Maybe… I’m just saying maybe… you’ll stand a chance to survive.”

Only cultivators of Thousand Demon Ridge would want to kill Lu Ye. Lady Yun was famous in the past, and as one of the best Glyphweavers in Jiu Zhou, many people owed her a favour, and they included the Managers of many Sects. As such, an average cultivator wouldn’t want to offend her. Nevertheless, no one knew if bringing up her name would be useful in a perilous situation, so she didn’t give Lu Ye any promises.

“Also, my name is Yun Xuechu.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.” It was the first time Lu Ye learned of her name. He had been calling her ‘Lady Yun’.

“There’s something I want to ask you about, Honoured Master.”

“Go ahead.”

“Have you also dabbled in the Way of Golem Making?”

A hint of shock flashed across Yun Xuechu’s gaze. “Why do you say this?”

She didn’t recall showing anything related to the Way of Golem Making in front of Lu Ye.

“The maidservant on the peak doesn’t seem to be a Human.”

In the past, he had always felt that there was something off about the maidservant who greeted him. Since his cultivation and eyesight were weak back then, he couldn’t see through it.

When he came over this time, he figured out things he hadn’t noticed in the past.

Perhaps it was because he had activated the Dragon Throne before. Even though he knew nothing about the Way of Golem Making, he could tell that the maidservant wasn’t a Human. It seemed that she was a Golem. Nonetheless, since she was lifelike, one might mistake her as a Human.

Yun Xuechu was truly surprised, not expecting Lu Ye to have such acute eyesight.

As a thought flashed across her mind, the maidservant came over and stood in front of Lu Ye before saying, “Do you think I’m not a Human?”

An astounded Lu Ye stared fixedly at the maidservant before coming to his senses. “Honoured Master?”

The maidservant had never spoken before. Initially, Lu Ye thought she was a mute. Now, it seemed that she wasn’t incapable of speaking. It was just that someone needed to make it happen.

The thing that drove the maidservant to speak was Yun Xuechu’s Divine Ego. The maidservant was indeed a Golem!
