God's Imitator

First proposal: The community distributes 1000 minutes of visa time to all players daily.

Second proposal:

All players in the community must contribute 5% of their visa time earnings from games to the community protection fund.

This community protection fund will provide minimum living allowance to all players at the standard of ”80 minutes visa time per person per day.”

If not fully consumed that day, remaining visa time returns to the community protection fund pool; if exceeded, players make up the difference with their own visa time.

Additionally, supplies purchased using the ”Community Protection Fund” can be freely shared among players and are not considered trading activities.

Everyone finally reached unanimous agreement.

”Then, Fu Chen, go submit the proposals. If the second proposal still can’t pass, we’ll delete items from back to front and try several more times.”

Cai Zhiyuan looked at Li Renshu again, ”Renshu, would you explain to the others?”

Li Renshu nodded, ”Alright.”Everyone left the room. At this time, the others were still gathered in the hall, having not left.

During daytime hours, everyone could move freely within the community, go outside for walks, swim in the pool, or simply sleep soundly in their rooms.

However, most people at this time seemed to prefer staying together with others in the hall.

Perhaps because they weren’t particularly familiar with or adapted to this environment yet, staying with others felt more secure, or perhaps to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.

When everyone came out of the room, Lin Sizhi clearly noticed several people casting subtle glances their way.

Obviously, living under the same roof, their five-person meeting couldn’t escape everyone’s eyes no matter how low-key they tried to be.

Fu Chen walked straight toward the hall exit.

According to the relevant instructions, outside the hall was a separate building, the ”Community Management Office” mentioned in the rules.

When players wanted to propose motions or vote on existing proposals, they had to complete related operations at the ”Community Management Office.”

Each player entering the ”Community Management Office” had a corresponding time limit and must leave before it expired. Similarly, when a player was using the ”Community Management Office,” other players could not forcibly enter or use it together.

Using violence or other means to coerce players or prevent them from entering the ”Community Management Office” were also violations.

Breaking these rules could result in punishments of varying severity.

Everyone subconsciously watched Fu Chen enter the ”Community Management Office” through the hall’s floor-to-ceiling windows, but before they could raise questions, Li Renshu had already sat down at the long table and begun explaining.

”First, let me apologize to everyone. We just held a small meeting and discussed a proposal with only some people participating.

”But please rest assured, we didn’t do this to form some small clique. It was mainly to consider some people’s feelings, so it wasn’t appropriate to make a big show of it.

”The proposal content is as follows...”

Li Renshu didn’t spend much time describing the process of the five people discussing the proposal content, but directly introduced the content of the two completed proposals to everyone.

When she roughly finished her introduction, corresponding notification information appeared on the big screen.

[A player has submitted a proposal, which has been reviewed and approved by the community.]

[In the next hour, please have all members enter the ”Community Management Office” or vote anonymously on personal computers.]

[If this proposal receives 7 or more votes of support, it will be implemented as a basic rule.]

[Proposal content: Add rules related to ”Community Protection Fund.”]

[1. All players in the community must contribute 5% of their visa time earnings from games to the community protection fund.]

[2. This community protection fund will provide minimum living allowance to all players at the standard of ”80 minutes visa time per person per day.”]

[3. If not fully consumed that day, remaining visa time returns to the community protection fund pool; if exceeded, players make up the difference with their own visa time.]

[4. Supplies purchased using the ”Community Protection Fund” can be freely shared among players and are not considered trading activities.]

At the bottom was a countdown of remaining voting time.

59:59... 59:58...

Obviously, Fu Chen had already submitted both proposals, and the first proposal that didn’t pass review wouldn’t appear on the big screen for everyone to vote on or discuss.

This also verified the five people’s earlier speculation: proposals submitted by players weren’t without limitations. They couldn’t conflict with the New World’s underlying rules or existing basic rules, and most likely couldn’t conflict with already passed proposals either.

Of course, if they were player-submitted proposals, it might be possible to modify or even overturn them by subsequently submitting new proposals, but this needed further verification.

Seeing the content on the big screen, Li Renshu’s face showed some pleasant surprise.

The first ”wool-pulling” proposal not passing review was expected.

The fourth clause in the second proposal also risked conflicting with basic rules and being rejected, and she had already mentally prepared for this.

Seeing all content of the second proposal pass review at this moment still made her quite happy.

Everyone finished reading the proposal content, their faces showing various expressions.

However, most people were quite pleased.

Jiang He was most supportive and spoke up first.

”This proposal wasn’t discussed in public to consider us ’poor people’s’ feelings, right? Renshu, you’re so thoughtful.”

Xu Tong looked at her, ”Where are you poor? I’m the poor one.”

Ding Wenqiang’s face also showed some gratitude, while Su Xiucen’s joy was clearly evident.

Obviously, Ding Wenqiang could feel that this proposal was mainly to help solve his eating problem. Not discussing it publicly so everyone could debate also considered his dignity to some extent.

Su Xiucen hadn’t expected the problem she raised to be properly resolved so quickly.

Li Renshu continued, ”Currently this is still just a proposal, a kind of initiative. If everyone has different opinions, we can still have thorough discussions.”

Jiang He stood up, ”What’s there to discuss? Isn’t something like welfare protection beneficial to everyone?

”This marks our community entering civilized society.

”Anyway, I’m going to vote in favor first.”

After speaking, Jiang He directly left the hall and walked toward the ”Community Management Office.”

Soon, others also expressed their positions.

”I also agree.”

”Who knew there could be such a method. Now even if we’re unlucky and don’t earn much visa time, we won’t worry about food and drink.”

”Right, without worries, we can let loose a bit more in future games.”

At this time, Fu Chen had returned, and the crowd even burst into applause to welcome him.

Li Renshu looked at Wang Yongxin, ”Brother Wang, if you have any thoughts, please definitely speak up. Your opinion is also very important.”

Others also subconsciously looked at Wang Yongxin.

Obviously, if anyone would oppose this proposal, Wang Yongxin was the most likely candidate.

After all, he currently had the most visa time and had always placed great importance on ”private property protection.”

Although the proposal could be implemented with 7 people’s agreement and Wang Yongxin’s opposition alone couldn’t change the result, if they could minimize disputes and pass unanimously, that would certainly be the best outcome.

What surprised everyone was that Wang Yongxin seemed to have no dissatisfaction whatsoever.

He smiled, ”Indeed, there are three things a person can never escape in life: birth, death, and taxes.

”Even in the New World, we still have to pay taxes according to law.

”But please rest assured, I completely support this proposal.

”Why are you all looking at me like that? I feel like you have some misunderstanding about me. Did you think I’d oppose it?

”Of course I have no reason to oppose it. After all, I’m already used to paying taxes in reality, and moreover, what you’re proposing is a flat tax rate rather than progressive taxation, which is already quite friendly to me.”

Seeing his reaction, everyone couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

It seemed this proposal passing unanimously was a foregone conclusion.

Although many people had a premonition that this community would inevitably develop rifts in the future, this kind of unity, even if only surface unity, was better maintained as long as possible.

Everyone left the hall in turn to vote at the ”Community Management Office.”

In just over ten minutes, voting was completed.

[Proposal content: Add rules related to ”Community Protection Fund.”]

[Voting completed.]

[Anonymous voting results announced:]

[In favor: 11 votes.]

[Against: 1 vote.]

[Rules related to ”Community Protection Fund” established.]

[Earnings not yet converted to visa time will be converted according to new rules.]
