God's Imitator

Lu Xinyi’s expression was somewhat ugly, because just as Lin Sizhi said, she and Lü Mingxuan had been kidnapped.

As long as Lin Sizhi and Qin Yao raised against each other, each taking a minute of thinking time, after a few rounds they could easily exhaust all the remaining game time.

This had no meaning for Lin Sizhi and Qin Yao, but it could prevent Lu Xinyi and Lü Mingxuan from leaving the gambling table, naturally making it impossible for them to find the chip exchange machine’s loophole.

”What do you want?” At this moment, Lu Xinyi finally showed some cracks in her composure.

Lin Sizhi said unhurriedly, ”You guessed correctly, the chip exchange machine does have a loophole.

”And this loophole is very easy to verify.

”But now, I don’t want to let you leave this gambling table.”

Lu Xinyi frowned, ”What do you want?”

Lin Sizhi played with his chips, ”You two, bet all your chips then fold. That’s the ransom.”

Lu Xinyi almost laughed from anger, ”You’re dreaming.”At this point she had 37,000 chips, Lü Mingxuan had more than forty thousand chips.

Combined, it was nearly 80,000 chips, not a small amount.

”Really? Think about it again.

”At the chip exchange machine, if you’re lucky, in just two minutes you can earn far more than 80,000.

”If you’re unlucky, ten minutes would be enough.”

Speaking, Lin Sizhi reached into his suit pocket and grabbed some chips, then opened his palm to show Lu Xinyi.

Lu Xinyi’s expression instantly froze, because there were actually chips worth 5,000 and even 10,000 points, and more than one.

This handful of chips, roughly estimated, was worth at least fifty thousand or more.

Now Lu Xinyi knew where Lin Sizhi’s confidence came from. The chip amounts of the two sides had never been on the same level from the very beginning.

She had always thought Lin Sizhi was bluffing, pretending he had at least double the chip pool.

Now she realized that wasn’t bluffing at all.

No wonder Lin Sizhi didn’t care no matter how much he lost.

”Don’t want to try it?

”A game that’s almost like giving away visa time for free probably won’t happen again.” Lin Sizhi said with a smile.

Lu Xinyi looked into Lin Sizhi’s eyes, ”But how can I be sure you won’t go back on your word?”

Lin Sizhi shrugged, ”You can’t be sure, but you’re not completely without a chance to resist.

”This round I’ll deliberately lose to Qin Yao, letting her be dealer next round.

”All of us will bet directly without looking at cards.

”First round, you raise 1000 first, then Lü Mingxuan goes all-in.

”Qin Yao and I will choose to call.

”Second round, you go all-in, Lü Mingxuan folds.

”After that, I raise, Qin Yao calls.

”Then you can fold, because with only one person raising, the system will automatically reveal cards, and you can leave afterwards.

”Of course, during this process, whether it’s you or us, either side could go back on their word at any time.

”If Lü Mingxuan doesn’t fold in the second round, that means you’ve gone back on your word, and Qin Yao and I will keep raising until time runs out.

”If in the second round, both Qin Yao and I choose to raise, that means we’ve gone back on our word, and you can also choose not to fold and play to the end with us.

”Or in the third round, if you don’t fold, then Qin Yao and I will continue raising until time runs out.

”No matter which of the above situations occurs, as long as either side goes back on their word, we wait until time runs out and the system automatically settles. Who wins or loses depends entirely on luck.

”This is my proposal. Whether to accept depends on you.”

Lu Xinyi thought for a moment, ”Fine, I accept.

”However, I hope you can answer one more question for me at the end.”

Lin Sizhi nodded, ”Ask away. I’ll consider whether to answer based on the question.”

Lu Xinyi stared into his eyes, ”In the previous round, what was your hand actually?”

Lin Sizhi was silent for a moment, then smiled, ”If I tell you, will you believe me?”

Lu Xinyi nodded, ”I’ll believe you.”

”Alright.” Lin Sizhi shrugged, ”King-high flush.”

Lu Xinyi’s eyes flickered. Whether she believed him or not was unclear, but she just nodded, ”Thank you.”

...

The final round went exactly according to Lin Sizhi’s arranged script.

The four players raised and folded in order.

After Qin Yao folded, Lin Sizhi won all the chips from the final round.

Lu Xinyi didn’t say anything more, just used the last ten-plus minutes to enter the chip exchange area.

Before leaving the gambling table, she gave Lin Sizhi a meaningful look.

”Lin Sizhi... I’ll remember you.”

...

After Lu Xinyi and Lü Mingxuan lost all their chips and left, there was still one round left out of the ten games.

This round only had Lin Sizhi and Qin Yao left, and they still needed to balance out their chips.

Before the seventh round, Lin Sizhi had a net loss of 42,000, Qin Yao had a net gain of 23,000. In the seventh round, Lin Sizhi won all 90,000 chips on the table, while Qin Yao lost 45,000.

After negotiating the ransom with Lu Xinyi in the eighth round, Lin Sizhi deliberately lost 40,000 to Qin Yao to maintain her chip pool.

In the ninth round, Lin Sizhi won all 124,000 chips on the table, while Qin Yao lost 44,000 chips.

In the final round, Lin Sizhi deliberately lost 60,000 to Qin Yao.

This way, in this gambling match, Lin Sizhi had a final net gain of 72,000 chips, while Qin Yao had a net gain of 34,000.

Including the large denomination chips hidden in her pocket, Qin Yao couldn’t even calculate clearly.

”Lawyer Lin, I thought that after Lü Mingxuan folded in the final round, when it was two against one, you would go back on your word.” Qin Yao said.

Lin Sizhi raised an eyebrow, ”Hmm? Do I look like someone who doesn’t keep promises?”

Qin Yao shook her head, ”Not really.

”It’s mainly that we probably won’t have another chance to be matched with Community 3, so not keeping promises wouldn’t have any consequences.

”After Lü Mingxuan folded, it was two against one, with a 66% win rate.”

Lin Sizhi shook his head, ”Doesn’t that mean there’s still a 33% chance of losing?

”I’m not a gambler. If possible, I still prefer to win money that’s 100% certain.”

Qin Yao thought about it, ”Lawyer Lin, I have another question.

”Why could Lu Xinyi so decisively decide to give up all her chips?

”At that time, she couldn’t be certain about the hidden rule that ’the chip exchange machine won’t fold.’ What if she didn’t figure it out, or didn’t encounter good cards? Wouldn’t she lose both people and money?

”If it were me, I would choose to give up and keep the remaining 80,000 chips safe.”

Lin Sizhi said calmly, ”Because she’s a smart person, so I would choose smart people’s methods to deal with her, and she would definitely fall for it.

”If she thought like you, then I would use different methods from the beginning.”

Qin Yao nodded slightly, ”Mm...

”Wait, Lawyer Lin, are you saying I’m stupid!”

She stared in disbelief with wide eyes.

The countdown on the big screen reached zero.
