God's Imitator

”Perfect solution?” Both Qin Yao and Su Xiucen were somewhat surprised. ”You mean there’s a stable way to win money?”

Jiang He shook her head slightly, ”We can’t achieve stable winnings, but we can achieve stable minimal losses.

”As long as all of our losses at the gambling table are far less than ten thousand, then it will be a happy ending for everyone.”

Qin Yao thought about it, but still couldn’t figure out how to achieve this.

Jiang He looked toward the four players from Community 3, ”Of course, to achieve the ’perfect solution,’ we’ll also need their cooperation.”

As she spoke, Qin Yao noticed that the other four players had finished their discussion and were walking toward them.

The game rules stated that to open a multi-player gambling table, there must be at least one player from each of the two communities. So communication between the two communities was inevitable, it was just a matter of sooner or later.

”Hello everyone. Since we’re all in the same game, why don’t we discuss strategies together? With everyone’s wisdom combined, perhaps we can think of better methods?

”Let me introduce myself. We four are from Community 3, and my name is Lu Xinyi.”

The leader was a young, beautiful girl with shoulder-length hair. Although she wasn’t wearing much makeup, her fair skin and gentle smile still radiated a certain youthful vitality. Her complexion was somewhat pale, possibly due to blood loss, but her spirits seemed good.

The other three were two men and one woman, ranging in age from their twenties to forties.

Jiang He instinctively glanced at Qin Yao and Su Xiucen, and quickly realized that only she could step forward now, so she took a step ahead, ”Hello, I’m Jiang He, from Community 17.”

The two shook hands. Although they were strangers, their friendly attitude still brought the two groups closer together.

After all, everyone was participating in a life-and-death game in the Gallery for the first time, which created something like a ”suspension bridge effect” illusion.

”Time is pressing, so let me first share my thoughts.”

Lu Xinyi chose to get straight to the point, ”After our discussion, we four unanimously believe that this game is a very dangerous trap that could potentially be fatal.

”But as long as we remain rational, we can survive very safely.”

Jiang He nodded calmly, waiting for her to continue.

Lu Xinyi didn’t keep them in suspense and continued after a brief pause, ”I wonder if you’ve analyzed the games in the Gallery within your community?

”I believe the most representative of these games should be the highest-rated ’Redemption Roulette.’ Of course, this is also the game I admire most.”

Jiang He nodded, ”Yes, we also focused our analysis on that game.”

Lu Xinyi was pleased, ”Excellent! This way we should be able to reach consensus more easily.

”Simply put, I believe all the judgment games in the Gallery have one characteristic: they test certain flaws in human nature.

”And once you fail the test, you pay a painful price.

”’Redemption Roulette’ tests the players’ ’selfish hearts.’ If players are extremely selfish and self-serving, they will die in the game.

”And ’Blood Poker,’ in my view, tests everyone’s ’greedy hearts.’

”If you’re overly greedy, you will definitely die in the game.

”This game actually has only one deadly trap, and that’s the blood-drawing machine.

”The game rules force us to go to the gambling table and play, and we must gamble against people from other communities and complete 10 rounds, otherwise we’ll have ten thousand minutes deducted from our visa time.

”But once we’re at the gambling table, the greed in our hearts will be stirred up. After losing, we want to recover our losses; after winning, we want to win more.

”After ten rounds of games, everyone’s chips will be reshuffled, and some people who’ve lost badly might very likely choose to continue using their own blood to exchange for chips to try to turn things around.

”And once they lose their rationality, they might very well fall unconscious or even die from excessive blood loss.”

Jiang He nodded repeatedly as she listened.

Obviously, what Lu Xinyi was saying coincided perfectly with her own thoughts.

Especially the analysis of ’Redemption Roulette’ was completely consistent with Community 17’s previous collective analysis, which showed that Lu Xinyi was a smart person.

And cooperation with smart people was always pleasant.

What was even more valuable was that as a smart person, Lu Xinyi actually had the mindset of ”nine out of ten gamblers lose, not gambling is winning,” which showed that the two were quite similar in terms of values.

Jiang He immediately nodded in agreement, ”Exactly, that’s what I think too!

”But we can’t not gamble either, since the game rules require us to go to the gambling table at least once, and as long as we’re at the table, there will always be winners and losers.”

Lu Xinyi nodded, ”Yes, that’s exactly the problem we’re struggling with.

”If we don’t go to the gambling table, everyone will have ten thousand minutes deducted from their visa time, but if we do go to the table, none of us have any experience...”

Jiang He’s eyes lit up, this was exactly the situation she had been hoping for.

”It seems our two communities are in quite similar situations.

”I have a proposal.

”Actually, this game has a ’perfect solution.’ Each of us can bring out the maximum amount of chips possible.”

Lu Xinyi was somewhat surprised, ”Really? You should all have about 18,000 chips too, right? Can we really bring out all these chips?

”That converts to about 2 weeks of visa time. If we can secure that, it would be pretty good.”

Jiang He glanced at the countdown on the big screen, ”Time is pressing, so I won’t keep you in suspense.

”The game rules only require us to complete ten rounds of games, but they don’t place any restrictions on how we play.

”Why do we have to gamble seriously and fight to the death?

”As long as we take turns being the dealer and take turns winning, then it’s just meat rotting in the pot. After ten rounds of games, each of us can roughly retain our original chips.”

Su Xiucen was shocked, ”Is that allowed?”

Jiang He nodded matter-of-factly, ”Of course, why wouldn’t it be? The game rules don’t say we can’t do this, do they?

”In these games, ’what’s not prohibited by law is permitted.’ Being able to exploit loopholes in the rules is also a kind of ability.”

Qin Yao carefully read through the text on the big screen again and found that indeed there were no restrictions on this kind of situation.

Lu Xinyi thought seriously for a moment, ”It seems... indeed feasible. But we have 7 people, and if each person wins one round, what do we do with the remaining 3 rounds?”

Jiang He said, ”There’s no way around that. The base bet is 1000, so we can’t divide it completely evenly.

”I think we’ll just leave it to luck.

”The table rules state that the first round’s dealer is random, and after that, the winner becomes the dealer.

”We’ll start with random seating, and each time we’ll let the person to the dealer’s right win. As for which specific three people win an extra round, that’s entirely up to luck.”

Lu Xinyi thought about it, ”Hmm... leaving it entirely to luck is fair enough.”

Qin Yao was somewhat worried and said quietly, ”But... Sister Jiang He, what if someone changes their mind? Your method doesn’t seem to have any binding force, does it?”

Lu Xinyi looked up at her and smiled, ”That’s also a concern we have.

”But thinking about it carefully, this risk is still within controllable limits. Sister Jiang He should have considered this from the beginning, right?

”Changing your mind during the card game isn’t really a wise choice.”

Lu Xinyi paused briefly and continued, ”First, you three and we four are all from the same communities respectively. After we leave this game, we’ll still encounter each other within our communities.

”Suppose I don’t honor the agreement and don’t fold when I should, then I’ll lose the trust of my three companions, and even lose the trust of all other players in Community 3.

”In other words, I’ll suffer ’social death’ in Community 3.

”The same logic applies to your side.

”And paying such a price won’t necessarily bring much benefit. Even if I win one round, it’s just winning everyone’s base bets. The benefits don’t match the costs.

”Moreover, anyone who changes their mind during the card game will immediately become our common enemy, attacked by the remaining six people.

”The rules state that the dealing at the gambling table is absolutely fair. Each person can only get three cards. No matter how lucky one person is, they can’t possibly beat the remaining six people.

”Furthermore, even in the worst-case scenario, if we seven completely lose trust in each other and everyone plays for themselves, that would just revert to the original situation without any additional losses.

”So overall, I believe any rational person would choose to honor their commitment. Because that’s the choice that maximizes benefits.

”It’s like... buying insurance, everyone shares the risk.

”This might not be the best choice, but it’s definitely the least bad choice.”

Jiang He nodded approvingly, ”Exactly, that’s what I think too. Cooperating with smart people is convenient, no need for too much explanation.”

Qin Yao lowered her head and thought for a moment, indeed unable to find any major flaws.
