God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Ghost Face knew clearly that this meeting was just a façade, meant to extract some remuneration from him, yet he couldn’t bring himself to demand it.

Thus, Ghost Face unhesitatingly offered unusually generous terms. Since Daoist Tianxing hadn’t directly become confrontational, it indicated that he still held some old feelings, and Ghost Face couldn’t let him lose face.

In actuality, Ghost Face had no room for bargaining. After all, it was on Daoist Tianxing’s turf. Even if the other party truly became confrontational and forcefully took it, there was nothing he could do!

...

After the meeting dispersed, as Celestial Punishment Daoist walked out of the hall, he saw his son Yun You already waiting outside. When Yun You, looking anxious, approached to inquire about the outcome, he was glared back by Celestial Punishment Daoist.

Back in his own room, it wasn’t long before Yun You’s hurried footsteps came outside the door, which then swung open: ”Dad, how did it go?”

Celestial Punishment Daoist immediately showed displeasure, sternly saying, ”I’ve told you before, try not to call me dad within the sect.”

”There’s no one else now. Besides, who doesn’t know the relationship between the two of us?” Yun You responded cheekily, ”Sneaking around only makes it look like one has a guilty conscience.”

”You!”

Celestial Punishment Daoist was rendered speechless with rage. Wasn’t it you who told everyone you were my son, and now you have the nerve to say everyone knows?

What is this guilty conscience insinuating?

The reason Celestial Punishment Daoist didn’t want him to publicly acknowledge their relationship was concerning Yun You’s future prospects.

He understood that as long as Daoist Tianxing was alive, he had no hope of becoming the sect leader, so he had to pin his hopes on his son.

Although their relationship was already an open secret, it shouldn’t be overtly displayed, at least not with explicit titles.

Celestial Punishment Daoist was clearly paving the way for Yun You. As the de facto leader of the Kunlun Sect, many appeared respectful to him openly, but covertly feigned affection.

Clear about this, he naturally couldn’t let Yun You act recklessly anymore; otherwise, when he wanted to push Yun You as the sect leader, the resistance and gossip would be numerous.

They say no one knows a son better than his father; Celestial Punishment Daoist knew reasoning wouldn’t work with his son, so he said: ”I’ve already planned things out, but you must agree to a few conditions, otherwise the discussion is over.”

Yun You’s face fell, but thinking of Lin Bingxuan’s stunning beauty, he gritted his teeth and said, ”Okay, as long as you help me, I’ll agree to whatever you say!” Thinking to himself, I doubt you’d harm your own son.

Seeing Yun You agree so easily, Celestial Punishment Daoist wasted no words and directly said, ”First, after I help you get the girl, you must focus entirely on improving your strength, preparing to become the sect leader in the future.”

”Lea…Lea…S-sect leader?!”

Yun You’s jaw nearly dropped from shock; he had never encountered such conditions that were all-benefit and no harm.

Thinking of becoming the sect leader, where young and beautiful women would obey him and he could choose as he wished, Yun You quickly nodded in agreement after his brief surprise.

”Secondly, from now on, you mustn’t call me dad, not even privately!” Celestial Punishment Daoist said sternly.

Yun You readily agreed to this condition. Who has a craving to call someone dad anyway, especially when forbidden to do so?

Who’s willing to call anyway?

Seeing his conditions met so readily, Celestial Punishment Daoist felt a stone drop from his heart.

As for what Lin Bingxuan thought, he hadn’t considered it at all. Trading a woman for a leadership position was, by far, a profitable deal.

At most, he’d give her some compensation later!

”Then it’s settled. We’ll set off early tomorrow morning, and I’ll create opportunities for you on the way!” Celestial Punishment Daoist said.

As soon as he finished speaking, Yun You’s hand was already on the door, and as if realizing something, he turned to bow and said, ”Thank you, Celestial Punishment Master. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave!”

Without waiting for Celestial Punishment Daoist to react, he opened the door and darted out, leaving the person inside breathing heavily, their face turning pale.

What a calamity!

Celestial Punishment Daoist sighed heavily. How could he end up with such an incompetent son?

Thinking this, a flash struck through Celestial Punishment Daoist’s mind, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.

He suddenly realized one thing; from the moment Yun You spoke, he had never personally confirmed anything, which meant…

Celestial Punishment Daoist dared not think further, but the more he tried not to, the harder it was to control.

All because of that one-night indulgence and a woman’s words, he naively believed it.

What if the child isn’t his…wouldn’t he be the scapegoat?

Celestial Punishment Daoist took a deep breath, then began silently reciting the Calming Mantra. No matter what, he’d deal with this after the current matter.

...

Meanwhile, as Yun You left Celestial Punishment Daoist’s courtyard, two equally excited peers surrounded him — his fellow disciples, his sidekicks, Yun He and Yun Mie.

With faces full of anticipation, they sidled up to Yun You and asked, ”How did it go, boss? Did it succeed?”

Feeling smug, Yun You made an OK gesture, his steps feeling light as a feather.

Seeing this, Yun Mie and Yun He were ecstatic, quickly praising him with obsequious expressions.

”Boss, you’re incredible!”

”That’s stating the obvious! Is there anything boss sets his mind to that can’t be accomplished?”

”You’re the one being redundant. I said boss is amazing, you said it’s nonsense, are you insulting him?”

”Bah, stop slandering me. I think you…”

Impatiently, Yun You waved a hand to halt their squabble, and added, ”Stop arguing. That old man is planning to make me the sect leader!”

Upon hearing this, Yun He and Yun Mie were stupefied, their steps faltered as they stood frozen.

This was…too explosive, right?!

Watching Yun You walk ahead, hands clasped behind his back, taking strides like an old retired official, the two exchanged glances and hurriedly followed, showering him with compliments.

These two truly had silver tongues, and under their torrential praise, Yun You felt like he was on cloud nine, kind of losing his direction.

”You two stick with me, good things will come your way!” Yun You exclaimed with loyalty. ”And that woman named Lin Bingxuan, you’ll have a share too.”

Upon hearing Yun You’s generous promise, the two sidekicks felt the happiness come too suddenly, momentarily finding it hard to digest.
