Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

”Who is it?”

This sudden sword strike stunned everyone. The crowd had already witnessed Su Han’s power. The Eighth Prince and Thirteenth Princess couldn’t stop him and were slain by his sword. Even the highly regarded Second Prince fell beneath his blade. Such a powerful Su Han was certainly capable of competing for first place, yet this abrupt attack had nearly killed him, which was simply inconceivable.

All eyes fixed on the scene, only to see a black longsword emerge from the opened spatial rift. The sword was ancient in design, yet as thin as a cicada’s wing. It was jet-black like ink, its blade possessing a depth that seemed capable of swallowing one’s heart and spirit whole. This was not a Holy Sword, but a demonic one—a sword that could drive a person to despair.

This sword was held in a hand as fair as jade, and its owner was no stranger to anyone.

”Demon Swordsman!”

When the crowd saw that the attacker was the Demon Swordsman, they all gasped, their faces filled with shock. No one had expected that the person who launched this surprise attack, almost killing Su Han, would be him.

Originally, the Demon Swordsman had been battling three others, but the Second Prince’s death drew everyone’s attention, causing Sword Lunatic, Sword Maniac, and Liu Xu to pause their fight. The Demon Swordsman seized this single opportunity, preparing a powerful strike that missed success by a hair’s breadth.

If it had been the former Nineteenth Prince, or the recently slain Second Prince, they likely would have been killed on the spot by this sword strike. Even Su Han had only managed to withstand it thanks to the toughness of his Great Luo Golden Body. Even so, his skin and flesh were sliced open, and his internal organs were ruptured. Dark red blood flowed from the wound, forming a small puddle at his feet.

”Oh? You’re not dead!” the Demon Swordsman exclaimed, clearly surprised that his killing strike had failed to slay Su Han.

”No matter. You blocked my first strike. I wonder if you can block the second!”

The Demon Swordsman grinned, brimming with demonic nature. He immediately gripped the Void Demon Sword and lunged at Su Han.

He was a powerful cultivator at the Ninth Layer of the Supreme Realm and a top-tier genius among sword cultivators. Three years ago, he had even ranked 208th on the Hidden Dragon List. His talent and strength were unimaginable. Moreover, his Sword Intent was unique and his swordsmanship powerful. Even if Su Han hadn’t been injured, defeating him would have been difficult, let alone now when he was seriously wounded and his combat power was significantly reduced.

SWOOSH!

The Demon Swordsman charged forward, slashing his sword. A black Sword Radiance instantly erupted, spreading toward Su Han like a tear in space. Not only that, but Su Han also felt an intense sense of despair, as if he had become despondent about the world, all living beings, and even himself. He felt an urge to take the sword in his hand and kill himself just to find release.

”Invincible Tao Xin!”

Su Han swiftly employed a Divine Method, using his Invincible Tao Xin to fend off the despair while simultaneously triggering his own Defying Heavenly Demon Will. A surging will to fight filled his eyes as he completely broke free.

”Interesting. To think you could break free from my Despair Sword Intent.”

The Demon Swordsman was mildly surprised. This was his Sword Intent, capable of inducing such despair in his opponents that they would kill themselves. To hone this Despair Sword Intent, he had once slaughtered ten cities just to absorb the despair of their people. Now that his Sword Intent had reached Great Accomplishment, he didn’t even need to draw his sword against ordinary foes; the Despair Sword Intent alone was enough to make them commit suicide. This was what made him so terrifying.

Yet now, facing Su Han, his Despair Sword Intent had been resisted. The surging fighting spirit in his opponent’s eyes startled him. But he quickly recovered, his smile growing more bizarre and filled with a sinister charm.

”Sun, Moon, and Stars Triple Forms: Moon Slash!”

Facing the Demon Swordsman’s attack, Su Han dared not be careless. Dragging his severely injured body, he executed the Moon Slash Sword Technique. Instantly, the Sword Light Bright Moon spun at high speed, its terrifying cutting force meeting the black Sword Radiance. The Moon Slash Sword Technique was powerful, but at this moment, it was no match for the black Sword Radiance.

This black Sword Radiance contained the Dao Rhyme of the Void, capable of turning anything to nothingness. When the Sword Light Bright Moon collided with it, its light was continuously shattered until the entire attack was cleaved apart. The black Sword Radiance then continued its onslaught, leaving Su Han no choice but to block with the Soul Severing Sword.

Although the Soul Severing Sword was just a low-grade Holy Artifact, it had been nurtured with Yin Energy for years and was quite formidable. It finally managed to block the black Sword Radiance, but the force of the impact sent Su Han flying backward, nearly knocking him off the Golden Stone Platform.

”Stop struggling. Just enjoy death!”

The smile on the Demon Swordsman’s face grew more twisted, as he seemed to particularly relish the pleasure of tormenting his enemies to death.

SWOOSH!

The Demon Swordsman slashed again. His black Sword Radiance, imbued with Despair Sword Intent and the Dao Rhyme of the Void, tore through the sky. It seemed as if it could slice through a massive mountain in a single blow.

Su Han possessed the Secret of Healer, but he couldn’t use it under so many watchful eyes. The same was true for his other methods. If he dared to reveal them, the Flying Immortal Great Emperor would surely never let him leave alive. That was a far greater danger than facing the Demon Swordsman.

”Character Technique of Motion!”

Su Han struggled to his feet, using the Character Technique of Motion to try and dodge. At the same time, he took out some Life Spring Water from his Bronze Ring. The item was precious, but it was still circulated on the market, so using it for healing wouldn’t expose his secrets.

”Life Spring Water? Good stuff. A shame to waste it on you.”

The Demon Swordsman smirked. He had already decided to torture Su Han to death. Since the Flying Immortal Great Emperor wouldn’t intervene, he had nothing to fear. He pressed his attack, unwilling to give Su Han any chance to heal. Just then, however, a blood-flame sword radiance suddenly slashed out from the side, aimed straight at the Demon Swordsman.

”War Heaven First Style: Kunlun Slash!”

The blood-flame sword radiance carried the sharpness to cleave a Divine Mountain. Its blood-flames boiled and its battle intent surged to the heavens as it successfully blocked the black Sword Radiance.

An unexpected meddler?

The Demon Swordsman’s smile vanished, and murderous intent flashed in his eyes. He turned his head, his gaze falling upon Liu Xu.

At that moment, Liu Xu had activated her War Blood Holy Body and used its Origin Technique: War Blood Boiling. She was enveloped in blood-flames, now possessing combat power comparable to the Supreme Realm Ninth Layer.

”You dare obstruct me?” The Demon Swordsman stared intently at Liu Xu, the killing intent in his eyes as chilling as a ten-thousand-year-old winter wind, enough to make one shudder.

Liu Xu, however, was boiling with fighting spirit, showing no sign of retreat or fear.

”The world says the Demon Swordsman is strong. Today, I’ll see if you’re just all talk!”

Liu Xu didn’t look at Su Han or say anything to him. Instead, she stared straight at the Demon Swordsman. Her War Blood ignited and her fighting spirit surged. Gripping the Holy Sword of a Hundred Battles, she attacked the Demon Swordsman without hesitation.

”War Heaven Second Style: Splitting Heaven and Earth!”

Liu Xu’s attack made the Demon Swordsman’s eyes turn utterly cold. His mouth curled into a smile filled with murderous intent.

”Since you’re seeking death, I will grant your wish!”
