Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Those Who Challenge Me Shall Not Survive

Su Han could sense Tongyan’s favor toward him. Although he didn’t know the reason, it was undoubtedly a good thing.

Stepping out of the Myriad Treasures Pavilion, he saw a surging crowd congregated in one place.

”Ninth Prince Su Han! You abuse your power, killed my servant, and show no respect for the law! Give us justice!”

Within the crowd, the Qin Family guards, at Qin Feng’s signal, were constantly instigating trouble and proclaiming Su Han’s supposed crimes. The corpse of the servant Su Han had killed was laid out on the street for all to see, drawing stares and pointed fingers. Clearly, while Su Han was purchasing the Black Blade, Qin Feng had seized the opportunity to fan the flames and tarnish his name. His goal was to enrage Su Han; both the Spirit-Nurturing Flower and the servant’s death were merely excuses.

”The Ninth Prince has arrived!”

At the sight of Su Han, the crowd’s gaze immediately converged on him, filled with anger and contempt. They had clearly believed Qin Feng’s one-sided story. In a situation like this, explanations were futile, so Su Han offered none and simply walked straight forward.

”Su Han, when a prince commits a crime, he is punished the same as a commoner. Though you are the Ninth Prince, you cannot abuse your power and kill the innocent! If you do not give me a satisfactory answer today, I will go to the palace and lodge a complaint with the Emperor!” Qin Feng stared coldly at Su Han, making no attempt to hide his malicious intent.

Provoking Su Han into attacking first and then killing him—that was Qin Feng’s plan. He had intentionally stirred up the crowd to legitimize his own actions. If Su Han dared to strike first, Qin Feng would hold the moral high ground. Even if he killed the prince, no one would dare to object. This was not a hidden plot, but an open scheme!

If Su Han made a move, he would undoubtedly die. If he did not, Qin Feng would continue to press him, cornering him in a situation where he would face the scorn of thousands. As the leading figure of the Qin Family’s younger generation, Qin Feng was certainly no brainless fop.

Unfortunately for Qin Feng, Su Han was a man who liked to ”reason”—with his fists and set the rules with his blade.

CLANG!

Without a word, Su Han reached out, grasped the Black Blade, and channeled Demonic Qi into it before slashing fiercely at Qin Feng.

Draw Sword Slash!

The pitch-black Black Blade grew extremely excited upon receiving the infusion of Demonic Qi.

CRACK!

A dark gleam shot from the blade like a bolt of black lightning, slicing through the air toward Qin Feng. The essence of the Draw Sword Slash was speed. Combined with the surprise of the attack, it was nearly impossible to defend against. Qin Feng’s cold smile froze on his face as his pupils contracted, a sense of crisis welling up in his heart.

But he was, after all, a powerful Martial Artist at the Sixth Layer of the Divine Sea Realm. He reacted with extreme speed, mounting a defense just as the blade’s light reached him.

”Golden Spirit Battle Armor!”

Qin Feng possessed the rare Golden Spirit Body. Channeling his full power, he condensed an ethereal golden battle armor over his body. The instant the Golden Spirit Battle Armor formed, the pitch-black blade light struck. CLANG! A sharp, piercing clang of metal on metal rang out as they collided.

With his higher realm and Spiritual Body, an ordinary Martial Artist couldn’t have harmed Qin Feng in the slightest. But Su Han’s Demonic Qi was bone-chilling, and the weapon in his hand was a Demonic Blade. Empowered by both, the attack actually pierced the Golden Spirit Battle Armor. To Qin Feng’s utter disbelief, the dark blade light struck his body. A colossal force slammed into him, sending him stumbling back three or four meters.

His Golden Spirit Battle Armor dispersed, revealing a dark wound on his body. The injury was bone-chillingly cold, and even the blood that flowed from it was black. Moreover, Qin Feng felt a surge of Demonic Qi rampaging through his body. It threatened to erode his Spiritual Energy, freeze his organs, and make him another soul claimed by the blade.

”What kind of blade is this!”

Qin Feng stared in horror at the Black Blade in Su Han’s hand. He didn’t suspect Su Han of practicing Demonic Techniques; instead, he attributed everything to the weapon. It was clearly a Demonic Blade, and an extraordinary one at that.

”How has the Ninth Prince become so strong? He defeated the Marquis with a single slash! This is impossible!”

”I heard he was severely injured and his strength had long since declined, but this doesn’t look like it at all!”

”Look at that blade in his hand! It’s like staring into an abyss! I feel like my very Heart Spirit is being devoured. That’s a Demonic Blade!”

The crowd of onlookers buzzed with shocked discussion at Su Han’s powerful strike.

WHOOSH!

Su Han ignored the crowd. He charged forward again, Black Blade in hand, and lunged toward Qin Feng.

”Stop him!”

Startled, Qin Feng quickly retreated while calling out to the Qin Family guards by his side. This time he had brought eight Qin Family guards, each at the Eighth or Ninth Layer of the Foundation Establishment Realm. They were originally meant to help him besiege Su Han, but now they could only be used to block him. He had been injured by Su Han’s sneak attack due to a moment of carelessness. A simple blade wound would have been manageable, but the invasive, corrosive Demonic Qi was excruciating. He had to expel it first, otherwise his strength would be greatly diminished. Su Han had killed Lu Mingxuan, a cultivator at the Fourth Layer of the Divine Sea Realm. Although Qin Feng was confident in his own strength, he didn’t dare to be careless.

”Ninth Prince, please step back!”

The eight Qin Family guards quickly appeared in front of Su Han, attempting to block him. Unfortunately for them, they had no idea what kind of existence they were facing.

”Those who abet tyranny die!” Su Han’s gaze was cold and merciless, filled with a bone-chilling murderous intent. Since Qin Feng had been sent by the Empress to kill him, why should he show any mercy? Mercy toward an enemy is cruelty to oneself.

”Slash!”

Holding the Black Blade, Su Han slashed at the Qin Family guards without hesitation.

SLICE!

Su Han was at the Second Layer of the Divine Sea Realm. These Qin Family guards were merely at the Eighth or Ninth Layer of the Foundation Establishment Realm and were no match for him. The black blade light flashed, directly decapitating one of the guards. His head flew high into the air, but no blood spurted from his neck.

This was because all the blood had been absorbed by the Black Blade. The once pitch-black weapon now bore a sinister, blood-red tint.

Bloodthirsty!

He could feel the Black Blade growing more excited and powerful after absorbing the blood.

The next moment, a faint light invisible to outsiders drifted out of the slain guard’s body and was likewise absorbed by the Black Blade.

Soul Devouring!

At the same time, he felt his consciousness become tainted, making him belligerent and giving him the urge to slaughter everyone in sight.

Bloodthirsty—it grows stronger by absorbing blood. Soul Devouring—it can consume souls.

Su Han instantly grasped the two abilities of the Black Blade. This weapon was truly a Demonic Blade, killing men and devouring souls with utter ruthlessness.

Devouring Heaven Demonic Art!

Su Han immediately channeled the Devouring Heaven Demonic Art to suppress the blade’s influence. Otherwise, he would become a Blade Slave, just like its previous owners.

SLICE!

He slashed out again with the Black Blade. Empowered by feeding on blood and a soul, the blade had become even stronger. Before it, the Qin Family guards were like vegetables on a chopping block, offering no resistance.

In the blink of an eye, all eight Qin Family guards lay dead on the ground. There wasn’t a single drop of blood in sight; their bodies were as withered and terrifying as mummies.

”AHH!”

The surrounding spectators, who had been enjoying the show, now retreated in horror. They looked at Su Han as if he were an evil demon.

Now that Su Han had eliminated the eight Qin Family guards, no one was left to stop him. He took a powerful stride and charged straight for Qin Feng.

Those who challenge me, only death awaits!
