Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Not Leaving Seclusion Until the Divine Sea is Unbreakable

Deep within the storage room lay a doorway leading underground. Following the path downward, they opened doors and broke through arrays without any hindrance. Su Han even activated a Spiritual Formation to prevent outsiders from forcibly breaking in. Soon, he and Lu Yunxian arrived at the Lu Family’s Underground Treasure Vault.

It was a spacious Underground Secret Chamber with neatly arranged rows of wooden shelves. The shelves were categorically filled with various treasures: elixirs, Talismans, weapons, Cultivation Techniques, and more.

Su Han went straight to the area with Spiritual Medicines and elixirs, searching for items suitable for Fairy Sister Yun Xian and his own cultivation.

”Fairy Sister Yun Xian, you’re very weak. Although this Spirit Nourishing Pill is just a Low-Grade Spirit Elixir, it’s perfect for building a foundation.”

Most of the treasures in the vault were gifts from Su Han, so he recognized them all. Everything, whether elixirs or Talismans, was classified into four orders—Spirit, Law, Dao, and Saint—and each order was further divided into four grades: Low, Intermediate, Superior, and Extreme.

”After the Spirit Nourishing Pill has built a solid foundation, you can take this Bi Sheng Flower. It’s an Intermediate-Grade Spiritual Medicine. Though it hasn’t been refined into an elixir, its effects are still quite potent and can further restore your vitality.”

”Fairy Sister Yun Xian, you lost too much blood this time, damaging your very core. Without proper care, there will definitely be lingering aftereffects. These can only stabilize you temporarily. I will surely find rare and heavenly treasures for you so you can make a full recovery.”

Su Han smiled faintly, his gaze full of tenderness as he looked at Lu Yunxian. To others, he could be a demon who killed without batting an eye. But to his Fairy Sister Yun Xian, he would only show his best side.

”Little Han, don’t worry about me. I’m fine. You should hurry and find the medicines you need!” Lu Yunxian said. Although she was normally cautious, she wouldn’t object further given the circumstances. At worst, she was prepared to die alongside him.

”There’s no rush,” Su Han said, shaking his head. ”I’ve already activated the Spiritual Formation, so it won’t be easy for them to break in from the outside. Let me help you take the Spirit Nourishing Pill first!” He then took the pill and fed it to Fairy Sister Yun Xian.

Lu Yunxian was far too weak. The Spirit Nourishing Pill was already the most basic type of Low-Grade Spirit Elixir, with mild medicinal properties. Even so, her depleted body couldn’t handle the nourishment. Her face instantly flushed red, blood began to seep from her mouth and nose, and a look of agony twisted her features.

Just how much blood did Fairy Sister Yun Xian lose to become this weak? Su Han clenched his fists, a cold, sharp light bursting from his eyes as his heart filled with hatred. Empress, you deceived Fairy Sister Yun Xian and caused her such weakness. I will have my revenge!

After a long time, Lu Yunxian barely managed to digest the Spirit Nourishing Pill. However, she was too frail to take the Bi Sheng Flower afterward.

After getting Lu Yunxian settled, Su Han began to select the medicines he needed.

”The Sea-Splitting Pill!” He had found a precious elixir, one specifically used for opening the Sea of Consciousness and breaking through to the Divine Sea Realm. Although it was only a Superior-Grade Spirit Elixir, it was extremely valuable because its ingredients were rare and the refinement process was difficult.

He remembered giving this very Sea-Splitting Pill to the Lu Family half a year ago. It had remained untouched because Lu Xiaoqing had not yet reached the Ninth Layer of the Foundation Establishment Realm. After all this time, it has found its way back into my hands.

”Time to begin.” Placing the Sea-Splitting Pill and the other selected medicines in front of him, Su Han sat cross-legged and began to cultivate by circulating the Devouring Heaven Demonic Art. His plan was to first refine his Demonic Qi, then strengthen his body, devour Elder Lu Xiong’s corpse, and finally, use the Sea-Splitting Pill to attempt a breakthrough to the Divine Sea Realm. As black Demonic Qi circulated within his body, his entire aura took on a sinister quality. This time, he had to reach the Divine Sea Realm. Once he stepped into it, no one in the Lu Family would be his match!

While Su Han was in closed-door cultivation in the Underground Treasure Vault, Lu Mingxuan received the news in the Lu Family’s study.

”Father, that waste didn’t just kill Wang Ming and Nanny Rong, he also slaughtered the entire guard squad you arranged. I’m afraid he’s more troublesome than we expected!” Lu Xiaoqing, clad in green, reported urgently with her eyebrows knitted in a frown. That guard squad had consisted of eighteen men, led by an expert at the Ninth Layer of the Foundation Establishment Realm. Attacking together, they were strong enough to contend even with someone in the Divine Sea Realm. Yet, they had all perished at Su Han’s hand, leaving her with a heavy heart and a growing sense of unease.

Lu Mingxuan’s expression was as still as water, his eyes clouded with gloom. Su Han’s overwhelming strength had completely blindsided him. ”The Empress did indeed cripple his Heavenly Dragon Battle Body. He was unconscious for a month, and I saw him myself—he was a complete invalid. For him to not only recover so quickly but also become so formidable... he must be hiding a great secret.” The mysterious speed of Su Han’s recovery aroused Lu Mingxuan’s suspicion. Now, he didn’t just want to kill Su Han; he wanted that secret as well.

Over the years, the Lu Family had become one of the top families in the Imperial Capital, but only thanks to Su Han’s support. Because they had risen too quickly, their foundation was shallow—like a castle in the sky, at risk of collapsing at any moment. Their greatest weakness was the lack of top-tier powerhouses. Other families had Heavenly Human Realm Martial Artists, but the strongest in the Lu Family, Lu Mingxuan himself, was merely at the Fourth Layer of the Divine Sea Realm. This was why he was so desperate to cling to the Empress’s formidable influence.

Killing Su Han would not only secure the Empress’s favor but also allow him to obtain Su Han’s secrets. With those, the Lu Family would surely enter a golden age of rapid growth. At this thought, the killing intent in Lu Mingxuan’s heart grew stronger. As for family affection, he couldn’t care less. He had sold Su Han’s mother—his own sister—into the palace with his own hands. If he could abandon his own sister, what was a mere nephew to him?

”Father, that waste killed Elder Lu Xiong and is now hiding with Lu Yunxian in the Underground Treasure Vault,” Lu Xiaoqing quickly relayed. ”He was the one who organized its construction, so I’m afraid he may have laid some traps... What should we do?” The fact that Su Han was able to kill Elder Lu Xiong, an expert at the First Layer of the Divine Sea Realm, had also been a huge shock to her.

”So what if he has all the resources inside? He’s trapped like a turtle in a jar,” Lu Mingxuan sneered, a cold light flashing in his eyes as his killing intent chilled the air. ”With his current cultivation, the moment that vault is opened, his death is certain. Pass down my order! Summon the four elders to join me at the storage room. I will drag him out and eliminate this menace with my own hands!”

With that command, Lu Mingxuan strode out of the study and headed straight for the storage room.
