Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: I Want You Dead

”Lu Yunxian?”

Seeing Lu Yunxian blocking his path, Lu Mingxuan’s brows furrowed slightly. He had already received news that Su Han had fled here with Lu Yunxian, so he was not surprised by her presence.

However, seeing Lu Yunxian gripping a dagger with such a resolute expression... does she really intend to block us all by herself? What a joke! Although Lu Yunxian possesses the Qingmu Spirit Body, she has lost too much blood. She is so weak and frail, even weaker than an ordinary person. How could she possibly withstand several experts from the Divine Sea Realm? Besides, even if she had not lost blood, she was only at the Seventh Layer of the Foundation Establishment Realm. I could defeat someone of her strength with one hand.

Therefore, Lu Mingxuan merely glanced at Lu Yunxian before dismissing her. His gaze shifted past her and into the treasury, where he saw Su Han seated cross-legged.

So he really is cultivating. He has even reached the Ninth Layer of the Foundation Establishment Realm and is now trying to break through to the Divine Sea Realm. His speed is incredible! It has not even been three days since Su Han awoke, yet he has recovered from being crippled and comatose to the Ninth Layer of the Foundation Establishment Realm. That speed can only be described as monstrous! I do not know how he is cultivating, but it should be impossible to improve this quickly, even if his Heavenly Dragon Battle Body had not been crippled. He must have a great secret!

Lu Mingxuan’s sharp gaze fell upon a trace of blood on the ground in front of Su Han, but Elder Lu Xiong’s body was nowhere to be found in the treasury.

Could he be cultivating a Demonic Technique?

Lu Mingxuan’s mind raced as he quickly guessed the truth. He had heard from Lu Xiaoqing that Manager Li’s body had been annihilated by Su Han using some unknown method. The guard leader’s body had also mysteriously disappeared. Now, with Elder Lu Xiong added to the list, he could not help but suspect Su Han was using a Demonic Technique.

Practitioners of the demonic path are to be hunted down by all, yet many covet their power. Although Demonic Cultivation Methods have many drawbacks and involve cruel practices, they allow for extremely rapid progress. For this reason, many in this world are tempted to fall to the demonic path.

Su Han’s Heavenly Dragon Battle Body was crippled, turning him into a complete waste. It would make sense for him to turn to a Demonic Technique out of desperation. To think that Su Han actually possesses Demonic Cultivation Methods! Demonic Cultivation Methods are extremely rare. If I could obtain them, my own strength would increase massively in a short time. Then, even without relying on the Empress’s powerful backing, our Lu Family could stand tall and unyielding!

With these thoughts in mind, Lu Mingxuan took a step forward, intending to capture Su Han and force the secrets of his Demonic Cultivation Methods out of him.

”Stop right there!”

At that moment, a dagger blocked his path. It was held in Lu Yunxian’s pale, delicate hand, her eyes blazing with determination.

”Lu Yunxian, don’t forget, you are a foster daughter of the Lu Family. The Lu Family has fed and clothed you, raising you for seventeen years. Are you now planning to be ungrateful and betray us?” Lu Mingxuan’s eyes darkened, his expression turning ugly.

”I am indeed a foster daughter, but I am Mother’s foster daughter, not the Lu Family’s! If you want to harm Little Han, you’ll have to step over my dead body first!” Lu Yunxian held the dagger, prepared to die.

Lu Mingxuan is indeed powerful, but so what? I will never let anyone harm Little Han!

”You’re courting death!”

A cold light flashed in Lu Mingxuan’s eyes at Lu Yunxian’s words. He swung his hand, lashing out with a fierce slap.

Lu Yunxian gritted her teeth and swung the dagger with all her might. But she was too weak. Even after taking a Spirit Nourishing Pill and recovering a bit of her Qi-Blood, she was no stronger than an ordinary person. Before Lu Mingxuan, an expert at the Fourth Layer of the Divine Sea Realm, she was like an ant trying to wield a toothpick—utterly insignificant.

SMACK!

Lu Yunxian was slapped to the ground, the dagger flying from her grasp. Bright red blood, stark against her pale skin, trickled from the corner of her mouth.

Lu Mingxuan could not be bothered with her, swatting her aside as if she were a mere fly. He lifted his foot and took a step, intending to approach Su Han.

However, Lu Yunxian struggled to her feet and desperately clung to Lu Mingxuan’s legs, determined to use every last bit of her strength to protect Su Han.

”Seeking death!”

Lu Yunxian’s repeated obstructions finally exhausted Lu Mingxuan’s patience. He frowned slightly and kicked out.

BANG!

Lu Yunxian was sent flying by the kick, smashing heavily into a wall before slumping to the ground, unconscious. Crimson blood gushed from her wounds, quickly forming a small pool on the ground. A kick like that would leave her either dead or grievously injured.

Yet Lu Mingxuan remained unconcerned. His eyes blazed as he stared at Su Han, his mind consumed with a single thought: the Demonic Cultivation Methods.

WHOOSH!

He raised his right hand, releasing his Spiritual Energy. He molded the wind into a blade and slashed it toward Su Han, intending to disrupt his cultivation, injure him severely, and then capture him for interrogation.

BOOM!

Just then, an overwhelmingly powerful Aura burst forth from within Su Han’s body. A tangible wave of Aura erupted, crushing Lu Mingxuan’s attack before surging outward and toppling the wooden racks in the treasury.

The expressions of Lu Mingxuan and the four elders changed drastically. They hastily summoned their Spiritual Energy to resist the blast. But the Aura was too strong; they all felt immense pressure, forcing them to retreat several steps.

He just broke through! How can his Aura be this powerful?! Lu Mingxuan’s face was a mask of horrified shock, an expression mirrored by the four elders. They had all broken through to the Divine Sea Realm, but none had ever experienced such a powerful shockwave. How on earth does he cultivate?

The wave of Aura lasted for thirty seconds before slowly subsiding. A faint, sinister glow now emanated from Su Han’s body. He had the air of a malevolent Demon God, enough to make one’s heart tremble.

Seeing this, Lu Mingxuan became even more convinced of his guess.

Su Han really is cultivating a Demonic Technique!

WHOOSH!

Su Han’s closed eyes snapped open, and sparks seemed to crackle in the Void. Lu Mingxuan and the four elders felt a stabbing pain in their eyes, as if pricked by needles.

Is that spiritual power? How can it be so terrifying?

Lu Mingxuan and the four elders were stunned. Meanwhile, as Su Han consolidated his newly-attained Realm, his gaze swept over them. Then, he saw her—Lu Yunxian, unconscious in a pool of her own blood.

”Fairy Sister Yun Xian!”

Like a madman, Su Han rushed to Lu Yunxian’s side. His hands trembled as he cradled her, immediately using his Demonic Qi to staunch the bleeding. However, the volatile nature of Demonic Qi was for attacking, not healing. For now, all Su Han could do was stabilize her injuries; he would have to treat her properly later.

WHOOSH!

He snapped his head up. His face was a ferocious mask, his eyes shot with blood as he stared at Lu Mingxuan. A tangible, murderous intent erupted from his gaze.

Gently laying Lu Yunxian down, Su Han grabbed a long blade and charged at Lu Mingxuan.

”I will kill you!”
