The Void Backlash would be so terrifying that Yu Zi Yu himself could not guarantee that his ‘little frame’ could withstand it.

“In that case, it has become necessary to carry out a Void Invasion…” He mused as a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

In fact, it happened to align perfectly with his intentions. After all, the requisite for stealing the Imperial Artifact of the Angel Clan was launching an invasion to divert the majority of the Angel Clan’s forces.

As for why the Angel Clan was the target, the answer lay in the existence of the Fallen Angel, Avril.

As a figure second only to the Angel King within the Angel Clan, Avril held knowledge of many secrets. Among these secrets, the most notable was the whereabouts of the Angel Clan’s Sixteen Holy Wings.

Would the Angel Clan take action against such leaks? That remained uncertain, but the likelihood leaned more toward inaction.

After all, the location of the Sixteen Holy Wings was not something that could easily change. It was nourished by the very land it rested upon, and there were few such places even within the Angel Star Domain.

In fact, the Angel Clan’s City of Angels itself had been constructed atop this very site. And it was hard to imagine the Angel Clan moving the Sixteen Holy Wings over a single traitor like Avril.

Moreover, seizing an Imperial Artifact was not so simple: Not only would the invader would have to face an all-out resistance of the Angel Clan, but there was also the possibility of bearing the wrath of the Imperial Artifact upon its awakening.

And few across the entire universe dared to challenge an awakened Imperial Artifact head-on.

In light of this, Fallen Titan had underestimated the difficulty.

He likely did not realize that Imperial Artifacts possess its own Spirit and recognize their kin. Even if someone succeeded in stealing one, wielding it would be another challenge entirely.

Take the Angel Clan’s Sixteen Holy Wings for instance—it could only be controlled by an Angel.

Yu Zi Yu, however, had anticipated this and prepared several contingencies. Once he got his hands on the Sixteen Holy Wings, he would implement his plans step by step, until one of them bore fruit.

Even if the Sixteen Holy Wings awakened and unleashed its retaliatory Divine Prestige, Yu Zi Yu was confident in his ability to handle it.

Thus, Yu Zi Yu was not worried about this.

With a faint smile playing on his lips, Yu Zi Yu continued refining his plan.

[Launching a Void Invasion and stealing an imperial Artifact is no trivial matter. There absolutely cannot be any margin of error at any step. Every detail must be meticulously considered and accounted for. In any case, I need to bide time for the Void Creatures to assemble. This delay is just what I need to refine my plan to perfection.]

With this in mind, Yu Zi Yu suddenly thought, [System, use my Evolution Points and put me into a state of enlightenment…]

After a pause, he added, [I need to devise the perfect invasion plan…]

“…” A rare silence followed, as if the System itself had glitched out.

If the System had intelligence, it would probably be dumbfounded at this moment.

Enlightenment, after all, was a once-in-a-lifetime, precious opportunity that others would seize for cultivation without hesitation. Yet, it was being used by Yu Zi Yu to device a proper strategy.

Although, it did seem feasible.

After all, enlightenment was essentially the communion of man and Heaven, a state where the body and mind were emptied, completely freeing one’s thoughts.

However, using enlightenment for strategizing was…excessively extravagant.

Just the thought of it would make anyone’s scalp tingle.

However, if it truly came to this, and if the Angel Clan suffered a defeat, their defeat could not be considered unjust either.

Putting everything else aside, just the fact that a deeply hidden monster like Yu Zi Yu spent centuries, if not millennia, to meticulously craft a world-shaking scheme against them was enough to crush their hopes.

At this point, it should be brought to notice that a session of enlightenment could yield results equivalent to decades of focused cultivation, or even centuries for an ordinary cultivator. Hence, using enlightenment to deduce such a grand plan might indeed be equivalent to a century or even a millennium of planning.

Regarding enlightenment, the only thing Yu Zi Yu found regretful, despite having ample Evolution Points, was that he could not indulge in enlightenment too often.

This was because he had already noticed signs of his Soul entering a state of trance every now and then, as if he had merged with the world.

While enlightenment was a rare and profound opportunity, too much enlightenment could become a disaster.

The principle of ‘too much is as bad as too little’ held true universally.

Yu Zi Yu had no doubt—if he remained in a state of enlightenment for too long, he might eventually get assimilated with the world.

There were precedents for such occurrences!

According to legend, there once existed a Divine Tree known as the Divine Enlightenment Tree or Divine Bodhi Tree. True to its name, it allowed others to comprehend the way of cultivation. Its leaves, when held in one’s mouth, could induce a state of enlightenment.

Because of this Heaven-Defying ability, the Divine Enlightenment Tree was hailed as one of the ‘Ten Greatest Divine Trees.’

However, historical records mention a Tier-7 Hegemon who possessed such a tree and chose to spend all his time in enlightenment, hoping to achieve Eternity.

Yet not long after, this Hegemon became assimilated with the world, vanishing as if he had ascended to Immortality, leaving only a shred of his robe fluttering in the skies.

At the moment of his disappearance, a sigh echoed across Heaven and Earth, “Enlightenment is both a blessing and a curse…”

[‘Enlightenment is both a blessing and a curse…’] Yu Zi Yu shook his head and set aside the thoughts swirling in his mind.

Without further hesitation, he chose to expend Evolution Points and enter a state of enlightenment.

*Boooooom…* A thunderous clap filled his consciousness as an indescribably profound sensation swept over him.

In an instant, Yu Zi Yu’s thoughts soared, seemingly merging with Heaven and Earth.

Simultaneously, his mental acuity surged a hundredfold.

“Even if it’s a curse, I must walk this path…” With a soft sigh, Yu Zi Yu plunged himself deeper into enlightenment.

After all, this was the era of Spiritual Energy resurgence, the dawn of transcendence. Yu Zi Yu was not battling against Heaven or Earth, he was fighting against time itself!

The sooner he rose, the greater his chance of achieving the Dao.

How could Yu Zi Yu not risk everything? Just imagine, when he finally ascended as a Hegemon, the strongest beneath the stars were just Tier-6 Overlords, not even half-step Hegemons.

By then, with the forces of the Demon Court, the Society of Demons and Fiends, the Tree Realm, and others under his command, he would be able to suppress all the Myriad Races of the universe.

Whether through conquest or plunder, the resources of the cosmos would be his and his for the taking.

In this way, how could the Dao not be within his reach?

In terms of talent, across countless eras, he stood among the very best.

In terms of wit, even if he fell slightly short of others, it hardly mattered.

In the end, it all came down to resources.

And he possessed the Heaven-Defying Evolution Points!
