In this rare moment of conversation, Yu Zi Yu and Golden Monkey were enjoying their chat.

In fact, Yu Zi Yu even invited Golden Monkey to sit in a serene, garden-like corner of his Realm of Life, which looked like a paradise, where they continued with their conversation.

Beside them, the Mermaid King—Elsa and the Elf Queen—Fredrica acted as attendants, occasionally pouring Spirit Wine.

This Spirit Wine was brewed by Golden Monkey’s Clan, using Yu Zi Yu’s Life Essence and various Spirit Fruits. It held great benefits even for Tier-5 Transcendents.

Seeing this, Yu Zi Yu’s branches intertwined together, weaving a figure, and sat opposite Golden Monkey, enjoying the rare opportunity to drink.

As for his Void Elf Form, it was still half a day away from this place and would not be able to savor such fine wine, leaving his true body to enjoy it instead.

And could his true body drink? Well, why would higher life forms be incapable of drinking? In fact, even just one of Yu Zi Yu’s branches had sensory abilities a hundred times more sensitive than a Human’s.

This was the true terror of higher life forms.

“From what you’re saying, making Soul Lamps is indeed a complicated process, and although Misty Mountains have plenty of resources, they lack the most crucial item: Soul Stones.”

“Yes, Master.” Nodding, Golden Monkey explained, “Soul Stones are the containers for the wisps of Souls within the Soul Lamps. They’re extremely important. Without Soul Stones, no amount of resources would suffice.”

“Is there anything else that can replace Soul Stones?” After hesitating for a moment, Yu Zi Yu asked out of curiosity.

Soul Stones were something he had never heard of before, so it was unlikely he possessed any. And as for finding them—how would he even begin searching through the vast universe? So, finding a replacement became the next best alternative for Yu Zi Yu.

“Well…” Golden Monkey hesitated for a moment, searching through his inherited memories.

Then, after a brief pause, his expression brightened, and he exclaimed, “There is indeed something! According to my inherited knowledge, besides Soul Stones, there are other treasures that can nourish the Soul and serve as substitutes—such as Soul Wood or Soul Wick…”

“Wait…” Interrupting him suddenly, Yu Zi Yu’s voice suddenly took on a tone of excitement as he asked, “Did you just say ‘nourish the Soul’?”

“Yes, nourish the Soul.” Golden Monkey nodded seriously but then froze.

Because right at that moment, what caught his eye was a segment of root.

The root was pitch black and radiated a faint darkish glow.

In the faint light, there was an indescribable power flowing through it.

“What… is this?” Cried out loud in shock, Golden Monkey involuntarily stood up.

And after a brief examination… Golden Monkey alternated glances between the segment of root in his hand and the young man standing not far away with an amused expression. His corners of mouth could not help but twitch as he say, “Master, you truly are almighty…”

With a sincere compliment, Golden Monkey respectfully bowed.

Why was that? Because the segment of tree root in his hand was actually a type of Soul Wood. It was an extremely rare and high-quality one at that.

As for why Yu Zi Yu possessed Soul Wood… well, Yu Zi Yu was a Divine Tree. Even back when he was just at Tier-1, Yu Zi Yu had discovered that one of his roots had the ability to nourish the Soul.

It was thanks to this root that Ling Er had made it this far.

What Golden Monkey did not know was that this very root was one of the Soul Woods he had mentioned, and it was an exceptionally high-quality one.

“Hehe, it seems my 81 roots each have their own unique abilities.” Chuckling in his heart, Yu Zi Yu realized that one of his roots had earned a new title.

The Soul-Nourishing Root—following the Cosmic Root, the Titan Root, and other extraordinary roots—had now joined the ranks of his special roots.

An uncanny and remarkable root that had the property of nourishing the Soul.

…

At this moment, tightly gripping the Soul-Nourishing Root in his hand, Golden Monkey spoke with determination, “Master, I will go look for Old Ninth and Old Fourth for resources. I believe that in a few months, we can manufacture a few Soul Lamps…”

“En, no rush…” A faint smile bloomed on Yu Zi Yu’s lips. With his worries relieved, he did not mind the time. As long as they could succeed in manufacturing the Soul Lamp, it was enough for him. The amount of time taken was not a concern.

However, just then, as if remembering something, Yu Zi Yu took the initiative to ask, “By the way, Golden Monkey, you mentioned there are three methods. I understand the first and second, but what’s the third?”

“The third… well…” A hesitant look took over Golden Monkey’s face.

It seemed as though there was something about the third method that was best left unspoken.

After a moment, glancing at the eagerly awaiting Yu Zi Yu, Golden Monkey finally relented and answered, “Master, this third method is somewhat terrifying… It’s a Secret Technique of the Gods, and it involves the Trial of Zealots. It trains subordinates to become like zealots themselves—not only will they never betray, but they won’t even have such thoughts… they would devote their everything for their God, living and dying for Him…”

“But, the most terrifying part is that this method is akin to enslavement, but it’s far worse than mere enslavement… This method does not restrict the growth of life; in fact, the more steadfast their faith, the greater their potential for growth…”

Listening quietly, Yu Zi Yu could not help but have the corner of his lips twitch. It was indeed a rather terrifying method. Just hearing about this method sent shivers down Yu Zi Yu’s spine.

He felt that it resembled the ‘Buddhist Salvation’ often found in mythological tales.

But to be honest, this kind of salvation was far more frightening than the so-called Devil.

At least, Devils were straightforward in their approach. But this method of salvation was insidious… it could turn someone into a puppet without them even realizing it…

*Ahem…ahem…* Clearing his throat twice, Yu Zi Yu actively interrupted the conversation, “We won’t consider this method.”

Aside from the fact that it was a Secret Technique of the Gods, which was hard to come by, the terror of it alone would make Yu Zi Yu cautious.

It was just too sinister. Far too sinister.

Yu Zi Yu did not believe that such a sinister and insidious method would not have side effects. Or at least there would be some prerequisites, such as the Soul needing to be pure, or the mind and body needing to be clean…

*Haaaaaa…* Shaking his head, Yu Zi Yu quickly suppressed his thoughts.

He could not dwell too much on such an ominous method.

[However… to be honest… I’m a bit tempted. If I can truly find such a Secret Technique and train a few Zealots, it would likely be an interesting experience.]
