Yu Zi Yu couldn’t help but narrow his eyes slightly after listening intently to Golden Monkey’s description. Even the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but twitch.

[Heck, that was really close…] Feeling relieved, Yu Zi Yu was also impressed with his own wisdom.

[I’m glad I didn’t accept the inheritance of Jianmu. It’s too terrifying. Even with the help of the Consciousness of Cosmic Source, to be an enemy of all races would still mean being vastly outnumbered. Moreover, it might also entail all sorts of restrictions. To put it nicely, Jianmu is the spokesperson for the Consciousness of Cosmic Source. And to put it bluntly, it’s just a target pushed out by the Consciousness of Cosmic Source. From what I know, the Consciousness of Cosmic Source itself did not seem to have any intelligence; it seemed to merely follow certain Principles. The one who’ll suffer would naturally be the inheritor of Jianmu.]

However, on second thought, Yu Zi Yu did not feel sorry for the inheritor of Jianmu.

After all, as a Tree himself, Yu Zi Yu clearly understood how difficult cultivation was for beings like them. Without Jianmu’s inheritance, the Tree that became the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu might never have touched Tier-5 and Tier-6 in its lifetime.

After all, Yu Zi Yu was the first to receive the inheritance, which proved that he was at least among the top Trees. In fact, he might have been the strongest Tree in the universe.

Of course, that might have been true in the past. Now, the strongest was certainly Jianmu.

Recalling the previous fleeting images, Yu Zi Yu’s heart still couldn’t stop trembling.

[The skies were torn apart, and the Tribulation Clouds alone covered half of a Starfield. How terrifying must that be? If we were in the same Starfield, I would probably have been overwhelmed just by the aura alone.]

Smiling in his heart, Yu Zi Yu shook his head. [I’m overthinking it, that’s not what I should be thinking about right now.]

At that moment, Golden Monkey’s voice broke the silence, “Master, what are your plans for the future…?”

Before Golden Monkey could finish, Yu Zi Yu interrupted, “The most important thing now is to strengthen ourselves. As for the future, let’s wait and see.”

“Yes, Master.” A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as Golden Monkey understood Yu Zi Yu’s intentions.

[Master is still as cautious as ever. However, that’s the Master I know. Not arrogant, not impatience, just steady as Mt. Tai. Only by following someone like him can the Spirit Monkey Clan hope to rise to the pinnacle of the myriad races once more. Perhaps…]

A fiery glint flashed deep in his eyes as Golden Monkey bowed his head slowly.

[Now’s not the time. As Master said, the most important thing today should be to focus on the present.] With this thought, Golden Monkey suggested, “Master, after I’ve finished digesting the Spirit Monkey’s inheritance, I am willing to serve as an instructor in Misty Mountains, teaching some cultivation techniques.”

Hearing this, Yu Zi Yu’s face lit up with joy.

“Great, that’s great…” Laughing heartily, Yu Zi Yu candidly replied, “With your guidance, the combat power of our Misty Mountains will surely rise to a whole new level.”

Yu Zi Yu wasn’t just saying this out of courtesy. Only those who had frequently interacted with Golden Monkey would understand how deeply he concealed his abilities.

While he might not possess the inheritances of a hundred Clans, he certainly had mastered the inheritance of dozens of them.

If these inheritances were fully imparted to Misty Mountains, Yu Zi Yu could already envision its prosperity.

He was not surprised that Golden Monkey possessed so many inheritances, simply because Golden Monkey was a member of Spirit Monkey Clan.

The Spirit Monkey Clan had seven Divine Monkeys.

Among them, the Yin-Yang Divine Monkey understood Yin and Yang, was skilled in Human affairs, could freely enter and exit places, and excelled in escaping from danger.

The Enlightened Divine Monkey excelled in listening, comprehending Principles, discerning the past and future, and had a clear understanding of all things.

Just these two Divine Monkeys alone were enough to make it clear why Golden Monkey possessed so many inheritances.

As a matter of fact, the Spirit Monkey Clan was generally not well-regarded among the myriad races. If not for their vast powers, the Spirit Monkey Clan would have been destroyed countless times by now.

According to Nine Tails, even their most mysterious Celestial Fox Lineage had once been visited by the renowned Enlightened Divine Monkey.

…

After Golden Monkey left, Yu Zi Yu glanced at the torn sky, from where endless nine-colored Spiritual Energy continued to pour out, a smile blooming on his lips.

[Good, that’s it! With this seemingly endless nine-colored Spiritual Energy, Misty Mountains’ undergoing a qualitative transformation is already set in stone.]

As he looked around, he saw Mutant Beasts either lying down or sitting cross-legged in their respective spot.

Their Spiritual Energy was surging continuously, with auras of breakthroughs erupting from them every now and then.

“En… I’m already one step ahead of the others in receiving this great opportunity. I need to make sure I take full advantage of it,” Yu Zi Yu murmured as he controlled his body to continue growing.

In just a few breaths, in the astonished gazes of some Mutant Beasts, Yu Zi Yu’s canopy slowly grew into the rift in the sky.

*Boom…* Instantly, a substantial amount of nine-colored Spiritual Energy flooded Yu Zi Yu. Then, his Spiritual Energy started climbing at an alarming pace.

At the same time…

“Nine Realms of Heaven, open…” With a loud shout, seven different colored vortices opened inside the rift, followed by a terrifying suction erupting from each vortex, pulling in endless Spiritual Energy.

For a moment, roars similar to crashing waves erupted from within the rift.

…

Meanwhile, deep within the Pocket of Lightning, a severely wounded blonde girl, the Mermaid Queen, Elsa, trembled fiercely.

Slowly opening her eyes, a nine-color ocean entered her sight.

“What’s that!?” Elsa couldn’t help but cry out in a weak voice her doubt as she felt the blood within her boiling.

“Hmm, since you saw it, it’s yours. Consider it a gift,” a voice suddenly rang in her ears.

Immediately after, much to Elsa’s shock and astonishment, she saw a slender figure bathing in lightning slowly appear.

More importantly, the figure happened to be holding a glob of green sap in its hand.

Without further words, the slender figure flicked its wrist, sending the green sap raining down on her.

The moment the droplets of that green sap fell down on her body, Elsa felt her wounds healing at a speed visible to the naked eye. At the same time, the feeling of her blood boiling grew stronger.

“If you forcefully awaken in such a state, even if you survive, you’ll be half-dead. But now…” A dark and dreary voice, carrying a hint of amusement, echoed in the Pocket of Lightning.

“You can attempt to awaken and even break through…” Dropping these words, the figure slowly vanished.

Unbeknownst to Elsa, a blood-red eye had quietly opened in the depths of space, focusing on her.

Looking at her back, she appeared quite weak and feeble. Her face still happened to be pale. Even her blond hair was a bit dull. Yet, it still couldn’t hide her nobility and uniqueness.

However, the unfortunate truth was that this noble Mermaid Queen would never know she was just a guinea pig, a small experiment orchestrated by Yu Zi Yu.

Yu Zi Yu very much wanted to know if the Mermaid Queen could break through and summon Tribulation Clouds in his Pocket of Lightning. He also wanted to understand what exactly the so-called bloodline awakening entailed.
