An ear-shattering boom erupted as the entire universe rippled with an inexplicable wave.

Right at this moment, for some mysterious reason, a terrifying image flashed in the minds of countless creatures: It was a Tree.

From a distance, it looks like an ox, with colors shifting in four shades. Its roots, stems, and leaves were all of different colors.

The giant Tree happened to be sprouting from a planet, growing bigger and bigger, piercing through the sky like a towering pillar.

The instant the sky split open, a pair of icy and merciless eyes flashed.

“Well, what was that!?” On a massive planet, a giant, resembling a barbarian, suddenly cried out in disbelief as his expression changed.

With a grim expression, he spat out one word, “Jianmu.”

It was the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu, known to the world as the ‘bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.’

However, only extremely strong Transcendents knew that the existence of the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu held deeper implications.

While ascending to Heaven, Jianmu also became the spokesperson of the Heavenly Dao, or the Consciousness of the Cosmic Source to be exact.

As a result, the control of the Consciousness of Cosmic Source over the universe would continue to strengthen.

What did this strengthening imply?

Cultivation itself went against Heaven. The higher one cultivated, the more they went against how the Heavenly Dao operated.

The continuous strengthening of the Consciousness of Cosmic Source’s control over the universe, to some extent, meant that cultivation for the myriad races would become increasingly difficult.

This was most apparent to the powerhouses.

According to legends, the cultivation of great powerhouses was to tread the path of Heaven and break through the barriers of Heaven.

The so-called treading the path to Heaven was no different then walking at the edge of the abyss. A slight misstep would lead to the annihilation of one’s Soul.

So long as Jianmu existed, it would mean that the difficulty of treading the path to Heaven for Strong Transcendents would be several times harder under the monitoring of the Consciousness of Cosmic Source, aka Heavenly Dao.

Even some Heaven defying methods, if used, would attract the attention of the Consciousness of Cosmic Source, which would ultimately lead to eradication for the person.

“Hmph!” The otherworldly Transcendent, who had already experienced the Third Spiritual Energy Tide, and awakened an inheritance, let out a cold snort as a stern expression appeared on his face.

“Unless Jianmu is removed, it would be difficult to open the path to Heaven,” murmuring to himself, this Transcendent couldn’t help but let out a long, deep sigh.

According to his inheritance, only by removing Jianmu and cutting off the monitoring of the Consciousness of Cosmic Source could the Consciousness of Cosmic Source truly remain in obscurity.

After all, formidable as the Consciousness of Cosmic Source was, it was ultimately the embodiment of Principles. Destroying only its ‘eyes’ and concealing Heavens’ secrets would not cause any major harm.

At most, one would lose some so-called ‘Fate.’

Between Fate and the difficulty of opening the path to Heaven, every Transcendent would make the correct choice.

This was also a lesson learned from the rebirth of countless eras.

In some ancient inheritances, there were records of eras where powerhouses failed to remove the ‘Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree,’ which made the later cultivation increasingly difficult. Later, they eventually embarked on a path of understanding the world and ushered in a new sci-fi civilization that was completely different from usual cultivation.

This lesson had been engraved in the memories of countless Transcendents.

Compared to external objects, strong powerhouses still valued their own strength more.

…

Right at the same time, Yu Zi Yu’s eyes slightly flickered as a pensive look appeared on his face.

“It chose another Tree to incarnate as Jianmu…” Muttering to himself, Yu Zi Yu recalled the image that had just flashed in his mind.

He couldn’t help but find it extremely terrifying.

[Just accepting the inheritance brought about such visions. Tier-5, or maybe Tier-6, perhaps even Tier-7…] Yu Zi Yu dared not think about it.

After all, he had missed the Jianmu inheritance because of a moment of thought.

Be that as it may, Yu Zi Yu had no regrets.

He believed that there was no free lunch in the world, especially from the Consciousness of Cosmic Source. The more terrifying the power bestowed, the more restrictive it must be.

Yu Zi Yu even speculated whether even the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu was restricted from intervening. After all, there weren’t many Tier-4 Transcendents in the current era. And now, a big shot had appeared all of a sudden

It was simply excessive.

Such an existence, if still able to act recklessly, would likely throw the entire universe into chaos.

Of course, through the brief flash of images just now, Yu Zi Yu finally confirmed that this planet was not the only one with life.

In that image, ancient Trees towered, lush greenery abounded.

At a glance, it was a vibrant world.

“It seems that this world is becoming more and more interesting.” With a chuckle, a look of anticipation appeared on Yu Zi Yu’s face. [At first, I had some doubts. But now, it seems that the waters of this universe are deeper than imagined.]

[In the future, there might even be wars that traverse the void. Even so, the most important thing right now is to get this planet under control.] Yu Zi Yu didn’t want to find himself unable to defeat other planets with life in the future.

That would be a big problem.

As a matter of fact, that was a well-known Dark Forest Hypothesis regarding the survival in the universe among Humans.

According to it, the universe is a dark forest, and every civilization is like a hunter with a gun, stealthily prowling among the trees, gently pushing aside obstructing branches, trying their best not to make a sound with their footsteps. The hunter must be cautious, because there are other hunters lurking everywhere in the forest, and if the hunter finds other life forms, the only thing the hunter could do is: shoot to eliminate them. In this forest, others are Hell, an everlasting threat. Furthermore, any life that reveals its existence would be eradicated. This was the Dark Forest Hypothesis.

Yu Zi Yu very much agreed with this Dark Forest Hypothesis. The people of a different race or ethnicity cannot be fully trusted.

In the absence of a true ruler to command the universe, war was inevitable.

Yu Zi Yu even suspected that he would eventually have to confront the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu in battle.

“All unknown existences in the universe are treated as enemies,” in a somewhat cold voice, Yu Zi Yu made a decision in his heart.

“Master…” Suddenly a call interrupted Yu Zi Yu’s contemplation.

Looking in the direction of the source, Yu Zi Yu saw Golden Monkey standing quietly in front of him.

He was still the same as he always had been. Except that his fur was even more brilliant and dazzling, shining like gold, and his eyes were even more profound and vast like the starry sky.

“What is it?” Yu Zi Yu softly asked. He too was curious as to why Golden Monkey, after awakening, did not choose to stabilize himself but instead came to him actively.

“Master, the appearance of the Heaven-Connecting Jianmu is no small matter. If one is careless, even the path to Heaven will be blocked by it…”

As he spoke, Golden Monkey’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he conveyed in detail some ancient inheritance regarding the ‘Heaven-Connecting Jianmu’ and the ‘Path to Heaven, Breaking Through the Barriers of Heavens’ to Yu Zi Yu.

It was no small matter. It concerned all races.

The lessons learned from the cycle of one era after another, the blood and tears paid were enough to deeply imprint them in every ancient inheritance.
