Ling Er never shied away from bloodshed. If necessary, she did not mind getting her hands dirty. And for Misty Mountains, shedding blood was sometimes inevitable. However, at this moment, Ling Er suddenly halted her steps, as if she had thought of something.

After a moment, Ling Er’s gaze shifted toward the sky.

*Screech…* Accompanied by a loud screech, a very majestic Transcendent Eagle flew over from the horizon.

“Tell Bull Demon and the others that one of China’s top three elite forces—the Iron Knights—has arrived. If my calculations are correct, this task force should be stationed near Misty Mountains for an extended period of time. It’s not advisable to engage them directly.”

“Yes, Mistress,” responding, the Transcendent Eagle spread its wings and disappeared into the depths of the clouds.

However, at this moment, no one knew that it was just the beginning.

The next day…

A series of news reports shook the entire China.

“Misty Mountains has reappeared, and with an extremely terrifying beast tide this time, which swept through Sunset City, one of the ten new cities!”

“Does Sunset City really live up to its name, being one of the ten new cities, or is China just too weak?”

“There are rumors that Humanoid Mutant Beasts have appeared in Misty Mountains…”

…

Accompanied with these news reports, countless people were shaken.

The entire China was certainly familiar with Misty Mountains. It was the lair of the most powerful Mutant Beast in the history of China, the Tree Monster, and also a home of countless Mist Beasts.

It was the Forbidden Zone among the Forbidden Zones.

And now, such a fearsome Forbidden Zone was actively attacking Human cities?

What did it mean?

However, at this moment, a piece of news shook China even more so.

“The mastermind behind Sunset City’s beast tide was the Japanese delegation. Japan’s desire to destroy China is still very much alive, and in order to trigger the beast tide, they actually infiltrated Misty Mountains and stole their young beasts…”

As soon as this news came out, not to mention the common people, even some high-ranking Chinese officials couldn’t sit still.

…

Meanwhile, in the capital of China, Beijing…

*Bam!* With the thunderous fist slamming on the desk, the entire conference room fell into a deathly silence.

“Are you sure Sunset City’s beast tide was caused by the Japanese delegation?” the General with the most violent temper asked, trying his best to hold his anger.

“Yes,” the middle-aged man sitting at the main seat of the table, the President of China, agreed with a nod, sighing helplessly.

“According to the report sent by Lan, that Humanoid Mutant Beast had repeatedly inquired about their ‘young beasts’ even before the war had started. At that time, Nie Yuan and the others thought it was an excuse for the invasion of Misty Mountains… But later, it was discovered that the Japanese delegation escaped the city overnight. And cages for imprisoning young beasts were found on their destroyed convoy…”

As he continued recounting, the face of the middle-aged man on the main seat turned colder.

[We were even considering extending some resources to Japan for the sake of friendship. But unexpectedly… Those guys actually…]

Before the President of China could even say anything…

With another thunderous fist, the entire desk shook fiercely.

“I’m going to wipe out those bastards!” Roaring furiously, General Nie, the Patriarch of the Nie Family stood up abruptly.

General Nie was one of the ten Commanders in China, who had always kept a low profile. However, his family, the Nie family, was one of the top-tier families in China. Even Sunset City was one of their affiliated forces.

The Mayor of Sunset City, the extremely mysterious Nie Yuan, was also the only son of General Nie.

Unfortunately, Nie Yuan was currently unconscious, and even if he recovered, he would likely be crippled. Furthermore, the city that the Nie family had diligently built, especially after the losses incurred in this beast tide, was greatly devastated.

With such deep enmity, not to mention the hot-tempered General Nie, even those with a milder disposition would be infuriated.

“Calm down, calm down…” While the President of China attempted to console, the faces of these influential figures were far from good.

This time, it was a real slap in the face, and it had left their faces red and swollen.

Originally, they thought Japan would be grateful, but unexpectedly, they engaged in such underhanded tactics behind their backs.

“But I have to admit, they have made a very clever choice,” stating in a cold voice, the President of China, the leading middle-aged man stared deeply toward the east.

“If we really provoke the Tree Monster of Misty Mountains, even a country as powerful as ours would be in big trouble.”

“So, why’re you hesitating then?” Shouting angrily, General Nie added with a grim and resonant voice, “Whether it’s dispatching the Iron Knights or the Dragon Guards, either of them is enough to crush that puny country. Damn it! If I don’t kill those bastards, my surname is not Nie!”

Boiling in anger, General Nie’s face turned red. If he wasn’t one of the top ten Commanders of China and worried about the big picture, he would have led the Nie Family Army straight to Japan the moment he received this news.

But now, he couldn’t.

The reign of China was not in his hands alone.

If he acted recklessly, not only the President but also other major families wouldn’t spare him.

All this was because of the ‘big picture.’

China’s centuries-old plan could not be ruined by one person.

*Haaaa…* Heaving a long, deep breath, the middle-aged man sitting in the main seat looked deeply at his old friend before stating, “Later, go to the treasury and retrieve the Three-Leaf Lotus. With the effects of that Tier-2 Spirit Flower, Nie Yuan would have no trouble recovering from his injuries.”

At these words, General Nie’s expression brightened.

A Tier-2 Spirit Flower was enough to bring someone back from the brink of death. It could regrow even bones and flesh. It was a true treasure of Heaven and Earth. With the assistance of such a Spirit Flower, there was hope for his son’s recovery.

Thinking about this, General Nie expressed his gratitude, “Thank you.”

“This is what Nie Yuan deserves.” After consoling General Nie, the President’s gaze turned to the others. Seeing everyone’s infuriated faces, a hint of mockery appeared at the corner of the President’s lips.

This time, whether intentionally or unintentionally, Japan had really stirred up a hornet nest.

The anger of the masses could not be easily quelled, and only thunderous measures could suppress it.

Thinking of this, the President of China issued orders one after another, “First, cut off all resources to Japan. Second, send a delegation to question them. Third, if Japan fails to provide a satisfactory response, send the Dragon Guards to pay them a visit.”
