“I will be heading to the north in the coming days. I leave this place in your hands,” Yu Zi Yu calmly addressed the various Mutant Beasts that appeared intermittently in the thick mist.

“Yes, Master,” Bull Demon nodded and stepped forward, assuring, “I will certainly take good care of Misty Mountains.”

“Okay.” Yu Zi Yu placed much confidence in Bull Demon.

Old Second was steady by nature, and now, he had also advanced to Tier-2. Although he had not stabilized his cultivation, his extremely terrifying physical strength was more than enough to guard Misty Mountains.

As for the eldest of the nine, Nine Tails, she would naturally be accompanying Yu Zi Yu.

This little Red Fox was extremely clingy and would not leave Yu Zi Yu’s side. Moreover, as a member of the Celestial Fox Lineage, she had rather high requirements for her environment.

Nowadays, she hardly touches the ground. Except for the necessary rest on Yu Zi Yu’s tree branches, she would even quench her thirst with Yu Zi Yu’s Life Essence.

However, this lifestyle allowed her strength to progress at an astonishing rate.

According to Nine Tails, ‘Celestial Foxes must remain pure and untainted, and in this regard, even their cultivation speed would be affected.’

The environment Yu Zi Yu provided, combined with her devotion to cultivation, had led to Nine Tails’s rapid advancement.

In just a few days, her cultivation had stabilized, and her Spiritual Energy climbed to 200,000.

This incredible pace of advancement rivaled Yu Zi Yu’s own, just a few steps behind.

Yu Zi Yu’s amazing cultivation speed was partly due to being a Tier-3 Transcendent, which naturally allowed him to absorb Spiritual Energy more quickly. The other factor being his primary root, which ran quite deep within the earth, like a Wood Dragon, constantly absorbing the Spirit Stone Mine.

Even so, Nine Tails was only slightly behind him in cultivation speed.

Nonetheless, Yu Zi Yu welcomed her rapid progress, the faster the better. After all, Nine Tails could serve as his right-hand, capable of accomplishing many tasks.

…

As he gazed around at the various Mutant Beasts once more, his gaze momentarily paused on Old Fourth, Sarcosuchus. Then, he advised, “Old Fourth, you can’t just laze around while Old Second guards Misty Mountains.”

“Naturally.” Old Fourth grinned, revealing his fearsome teeth before lifting its stout legs, taking a few steps forward and inquiring, “Master, when will you be coming back?”

“In about one or two months.” After thinking it over, Yu Zi Yu gave a rough estimate because he was not entirely certain. After all, the journey from Misty Mountains to the island where the Ice-Attribute Spirit Stone Mine was located was quite a long one, spanning the entire snowy region.

While it might be relatively easy for other Mutant Beasts, it could be a bit tricky for a massive tree like him.

However, he was in luck. With the ‘River of Earth’ ability, even if he took his time, he would be able to arrive there.

Moreover, it was rare for Yu Zi Yu to leave Misty Mountains, and he was curious about the world outside.

With all these thoughts swirling in his mind, Yu Zi Yu was ready to depart.

After a moment…

*Boom…* With the surge of terrifying Spiritual Energy, the ground suddenly violently shook.

Subsequently, in the gaze of various Mutant Beasts, the ground started undulating like waves, slowly started surging toward the north, carrying a massive tree.

Fortunately, this ‘River of Earth’ was only a little over twenty meters wide, so when it flowed calmly towards the north, it created no significant commotion.

However, it was a spine-chilling sight.

After all, he was a large tree. Even if most of Yu Zi Yu’s trunk was submerged underground, Yu Zi Yu’s tree body stood ten meters tall.

The view of a tree slowly traveling north could be quite unsettling at first glance. However, what was even more fearsome was likely the ground itself.

At this moment, if one looked deep into the earth, he or she would see countless roots moving within, slowly wriggling deep within the earth, like the tentacles of an Octopus.

It was terrifying and monstrous, and, of course, it was quite spine-chilling.

…

Shortly after, staring blankly on the figure heading north until Yu Zi Yu disappeared at the horizon, Bull Demon finally turned around and faced the various Mutant Beasts before ordering,

“Disperse.”  As he said this, Bull Demon seemed to recall something and added an advisory, “In the coming days, you should remain vigilant. After all, with Master away, our control over Misty Mountains will decrease significantly.”

“Understood, Second Brother,” everyone responded in unison, acknowledging the situation.

“Indeed.”

It was true that even without the Divine Tree, the veil of thick mist would still be lingering over Misty Mountains, and there were thousands of peculiar Mist Beasts created by the Divine Tree patrolling at all times.

However, the entire Misty Mountains had lost its most powerful surveillance.

That was Yu Zi Yu himself.

Originally, the thick mist was Yu Zi Yu’s eyes, and he could capture any slight movements.

But now that he was gone, Misty Mountains’s thick mist naturally could not monitor Misty Mountains’s activities. As such, even if outsiders sneaked in, it would be difficult for Bull Demon and the others to discover it immediately.

So, Bull Demon reminded the various Mutant Beasts to remain vigilant.

If outsiders managed to infiltrate and caught a glimpse of the secrets deep within Misty Mountains, Bull Demon might have to bear the brunt of the responsibility.

…

Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, several days had gone by.

At this moment, in the heart of the snowy fields in the outskirts of the Northern Territories, on an expansive and barren piece of land, a tree over ten meters tall stood quietly rooted.

At the canopy of the tree, a beautiful Red Fox as bright as fire happened to be quietly lying.

“Master, have you discovered something again?” glancing at the deep blue sky, Nine Tails curiously inquired.

“I’ve noticed a pack of Mutant Snow Wolves entering my territory…” As he spoke, Yu Zi Yu’s gaze also turned toward the distance.

After a while, a pack of dozens of slowly approaching gigantic Wolves as white as snow entered his sight. Judging by their appearance, this pack of Mutant Snow Wolves had likely just finished hunting, as there were traces of blood still lingering around their mouths.

“Not bad at all, six of them are in Tier-0 Level 9…” With a playful smile, the roots buried in the ground by Yu Zi Yu silently surged.

After a moment…

*Schlick, schlick, schlick…” Yu Zi Yu’s roots attacked at a speed almost too fast to be even visible to the naked eyes, draggin the Mutant Snow Wolves into the ground before they could even react.

At this moment, if one looked deep into the earth, he or she would surely see numerous peculiar things resembling dumplings tied to the thick roots.

This was the harvest of the past three days – thousands of Mutant Beasts, with some of them being Transcendents.

Unfortunately, due to the urgency of the journey, Yu Zi Yu did not want to waste time, except for necessary rest. So, the fate of these Mutant Beasts could only be described as pitiful as they were slain for Evolution Points and, at the same time, acted as nourishment to replenish Yu Zi Yu’s Spiritual Energy.
