Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 1039: Chapter 1039:- Emperor Ren

”I would have stayed out of their internal politics and the upcoming civil war of this empire. Because, unlike certain people who need to prove their loyalty to the throne and the empire by taking part in this war, I don’t have such obligations.”

”But after learning the truth, and knowing that we are fighting for the same cause and same future, I knew that I could not stay out of this.” No one noticed that, after hearing this part of her words, Sophia panicked for a moment. In that second, she was sure that the Goddess knew about them.

From that traitor, she had learned way too much about them.

She was truly afraid that she would expose them in front of everyone.

The organisation that she and Emperor Ren were part of. Once the organisation is exposed to the world, things will become 10 times more difficult for them.

”I don’t know if he will come here today or not. But I had to come here for two reasons. First reason is to pay respect and tribute to the deceased general who was killed because he knew too much.” Hearing this, Cassian’s expression slightly changed, but the next second, he quickly calmed himself down.

”We have allowed something to grow in the shadows for far too long. These things... these people... hiding from our eyes, moving in silence, pulling strings from behind the scenes... and yet being responsible for most of the destruction and chaos spreading across the Main Continent and even the Six Continents.”

”They are like a disease.”

”They are nothing but parasites of this society that needs to be eliminated from its roots.”

The Goddess coldly looked at Sect Leader Sophia and continued.

”Their deaths must be so painful that for the next 100,000 years no one will be able to forget about the cruel and horrifying deaths.”

At this point, most in the hall were confused by her words.

From what they understand, the goddess of war was trying to imply that there were certain people who were manipulating everything from the shadows and were responsible for everything, even the death of the general might be related to them.

”For those who think that they can stay out of the Civil War or what is about to come next by staying neutral, I just have one line for you.”

”What is about to come next will affect every single person in this entire world.”

”It’s not just a civil war. It’s a fight for our future and the future of our children and the future of our grandchildren.”

”If some people think that they can stay out of this by staying neutral, then they couldn’t be more wrong.”

”In fact, I respect those who are bravely making their stance clear and speaking out. I respect such people more than the cowards who refused to take part in any of these because they are too afraid.”

”May the eyes of a coward never close in peace.” To her, those words did not mean that a coward would never sleep. It meant something far worse. A coward might live longer, might escape death, might even appear safe in the eyes of others. But deep inside, their heart would never find peace.

The Goddess of War did not believe in living a life filled with fear and hesitation. To her, a life lived like a coward was worse than death itself. She would rather die while fighting for what she believed in than live a long life doing nothing and hiding from everything.

This was her philosophy.

This was her conviction.

This was the very thing that drove her forward.

She believed that the only thing a man or a woman should truly fear in life was failure. Not the failure of losing a battle, and not even the failure that comes after trying and falling short... but the failure of never trying at all. The failure of standing still, doing nothing, and letting fear control every decision.

In her eyes, those who feared failure so much that they refused to act were the ones who lived the most meaningless lives. They stayed trapped in their own thoughts, unable to move forward, unable to take risks, and unable to grow.

To her, that was the real cowardice.

And that was something she would never accept.

”It’s good to see you again.” Malakor stepped forward and greeted the goddess of war. The reason he was being so nice was that she is his grandson’s future wife.

The whole Harrington faction have always maintained a very peaceful and friendly relationship with the goddess of war and her empire Because of this reason. Because to them, she wasn’t just another woman or another Empress, to them, she was a part of their family.

”Hello, Grandpa.” The Goddess was very respectful and polite to Harrington.

What started as looking after one of their family members has developed into something deeper over the years. Regardless of what she was going through, the whole Harrington Faction was there to support her in every situation.

She was very grateful for everyone that they have done for her.

Freya really cared for these people.

Without their undying support, she would never have been able to bring the civil war in her empire to an end. It was only because they stood by her side without hesitation that she managed to stabilise the situation and firmly establish her position as the number one undisputed Empress. Their loyalty was not just important; it was the very foundation that allowed her to rise above everyone else and take complete control.

Before all of this, the situation within the empire was completely different. Too much political power was gathered in the hands of the nobles. Many of them misused that power for their own personal gains, while others used their influence to control the ruler from behind the scenes, slowly turning the throne into nothing more than a puppet.

But she changed that.

She did not allow things to remain the same. One by one, she broke their control, removed those who abused their power, and reshaped the balance within the empire. She made it clear that the throne would no longer be controlled by others.

From that point onward, there was only one authority in the empire.

And that was her.

”After this, we need to have a good chat.” Because of the things that she said earlier, he was left with a lot of questions that immediately needed answers. From the way she was speaking. It was clear that she had some kind of contact with his grandson. Even if that contact is not direct, he was sure that some indirect contact must have happened.

”This show isn’t over. And the one who will answer your questions isn’t me.” She replied with a very confident, bright smile.

Hearing her words, everyone in the hall felt that the exile crown prince was within the Celestial Dragon Empire. And there was a very strong chance that he would come here.

Just the thought of seeing how much the exile crown prints have changed after all these years made the ones who sided with him very excited.

At the same time, the expressions of Sophia and Renji did not look good.

They had assumed that the goddess of war was here to support them, but it turned out that she was against them.

’She must know that Ren is a member of the organisation. She also must know that I am a member of the organisation.’ This thought kept Sophia very stressed. Before the entry of the goddess of war, she felt that everything was within the control of the organisation.

But now she suddenly felt that things weren’t in their grasp as she had imagined.

”His majesty has arrived.” The moment these words were spoken, every noble except for Harrington became tense.

”Finally, I will get to see the face of the brat who thinks he can be the emperor.” Harrington had a cold smile on his face.

Just as he was about to bring out his greatsword, the Goddess of War stopped him.

”Grandpa, trust me, this isn’t the time.” Harrington stopped hearing this. He looked at her and saw that she looked very confident.

”All right, I’ll trust you.”

”The Emperor isn’t alone. He is here with four of the 13 National Treasures.” The National Treasures were the strongest cultivators of the Celestial Dragon Empire’s military.

Hearing this, Freya and Malakor both looked at each other and slightly frowned.

”So what?”

”If that brat refuses to stay in line, not even four National Treasures of the Celestial Dragon Empire can stop me from killing him.”

Ren walked to the body of General Nico William and then placed a white rose on his chest.

”Thank you for your service.”

”This empire will not forget you.”
