Night Rider Sect,

At the summit of the tallest mountain within the Night Rider Sect stood a simple wooden house. Despite its modest appearance, the house was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate more than ten people.

In front of it was a beautiful courtyard that seemed completely detached from the outside world. Rare herbs and medicinal plants worth fortunes were carefully cultivated on both sides of the property. A narrow stone pathway stretched from the entrance of the courtyard toward the house itself.

Along both sides of the path were two crystal-clear ponds filled with colourful koi fish that gracefully swam beneath the water’s surface. The peaceful atmosphere made it difficult for anyone to imagine that this place belonged to the leader of one of the most powerful cultivation sects on the continent. Thick white fog constantly surrounded the mountaintop. The mist was so dense that an ordinary person would be unable to see more than a few meters ahead, giving the entire area a mysterious and isolated feeling.

The peak itself stood at an astonishing height of 4,098 meters (13,445 feet) above Bluestar City. This was the main peak of the Night Rider Sect and the official residence of the Sect Leader.

According to the sect’s traditions, no one except the Sect Leader was permitted to live here permanently. Even gaining access to the summit was considered a privilege reserved for only a handful of people. Apart from the Sect Leader, only the Elders of the sect and the personal disciples of the Sect Leader were allowed to freely visit this place.

To everyone else, this mountain peak was a sacred and untouchable location that symbolised the highest authority within the entire Night Rider Sect.

As for outsiders who wanted to come to the peak of the mountain, it was forbidden. Only special people with a special background, with the permission of the leader or one of the elders, could come to the entrance of the Sect Leader’s house if they wished to see the Sect leader.

”Any news about Aditya?” Asked the unofficial Sect Leader to one of his subordinates. This subordinate was a core member of the Night Rider Sect and was his direct student. She was also an inner member of the organisation who directly worked with Victor whenever he needed to take any team missions.

”No, sir!”

”Unfortunately, after that day, we are not getting any kind of info out of Harrington’s family. All of our spies within that house were killed in that expression.” Victor nodded his head. He had no regrets about what he had done. Spies are disposable tools that can be replaced at any given moment. In fact, he felt that the scouts who died should be grateful that they deserve a greater purpose in the organisation before going out.

”Plant new spies then.” Victor constantly sent his man to find more about Aditya. He could not wait to hear the miserable state that his nemesis was in.

”We tried, sir. But Malakor Harrington is personally overseeing the entire recruitment process. Not to mention this time they are making every single servant sign a soul-binding contract to prevent them from leaking any kind of information about the family to the outside world, even accidentally.”

”That’s troublesome.” But Victor did not think much about it.

Victor then paused and remembered something. ”I remember we had a few scouts in their military. What happened to them? Did they not report anything useful?” Victor asked in a hopeful tone.

But his female student shook her head. ”Unfortunately, Malakor Harrington is not letting any kind of news get out. Our scouts are ordinary soldiers. It’s extremely difficult for ordinary soldiers to gather any useful information without raising any suspicion.” Not to mention, after what happened a few days ago, the entire Harrington family was on high alert. Even the members of the Harrington faction remained on high alert, fearing another attack on one of their cities.

Hearing this, Victor lost interest in this topic. Sooner or later, he will learn what happened to Aditya and what he went through just to survive.

”I severed his limbs. At the very least, he won’t be able to fight at his hundred percent capacity for the next two to three weeks.” Suddenly, A part of him regretted not taking Aditya’s severed arms with him.

Victor did not realise that he had severely underestimated Aditya’s desire for revenge and what his nemesis was truly capable of.

”How is the preparation for the ceremony going?”

”Excellent! Everything is progressing smoothly. All of the important guests have already received the personal invitation letters that you prepared. We are also making sure that every guest is treated with the highest level of hospitality. Nothing will be left to chance, and we will ensure that nobody has even the slightest reason to complain during the ceremony.”

To make the event truly unforgettable, countless forms of entertainment had been arranged throughout the sect. Banquets, performances, competitions, and various social gatherings were being organised to keep the guests occupied and entertained at all times.

The amount of wealth being poured into the ceremony was staggering. Nearly two hundred million platinum coins had already been allocated to the preparations alone. The sect wanted this event to be remembered for generations, and they were willing to spare no expense to ensure that everyone who attended would leave with a lasting impression of the Night Rider Sect’s power, influence, and prestige.

”Good!” Victor was pleased to hear this.

”Lin, is there any negative reaction about me becoming the Next Leader of the Sect within the Sect?” Victor did not care about what the people outside of the Night Rider Sect thought of him as the leader of the Sect. But he certainly cared about the opinions of the rest of the members, from top to bottom.

Before Sophia’s death, Victor had never shown any real interest in becoming the leader of the Night Rider Sect. In his eyes, the position was more of a burden than a reward. It came with countless responsibilities, endless meetings, political obligations, and the expectation of putting the sect’s interests above his own.

More importantly, becoming the Sect Leader would mean losing much of the freedom that he enjoyed. He would no longer be able to act however he pleased or leave the sect whenever he wanted. To Victor, the position often seemed like a set of invisible chains that would bind him to the sect for the rest of his life.

However, when the opportunity finally arrived, his attitude changed. With the support of the Organisation operating behind the scenes, the process of electing him as the next Sect Leader proceeded surprisingly smoothly. There was little opposition, and everything unfolded almost exactly as planned.

Strangely, Victor found that he no longer disliked the idea of taking the position. Perhaps he had grown tired of his old lifestyle after so many years. Perhaps he wanted a new beginning. Or perhaps the authority and influence that came with ruling one of the most powerful cultivation sects on the continent had begun to appeal to him. Whatever the reason, he no longer viewed the responsibilities of the position as chains. Instead, he accepted them willingly and prepared himself to carry the weight of leading the entire sect.

”The entire Sect knows that after Lady Sophia, you are the most important and powerful cultivator within the entire Sect.”

”Everyone is very happy that someone so powerful is leading the Sect.” There were no complaints against him within the entire Sect.

Maybe a few of the Elders eyed the position of the Sect Leader. But when they lost the election, they had no complaints. Victor was deserving of becoming the leader. Even though he was short-tempered and the most violent elder, but he was also intelligent and smart enough to run a Sect. At the same time, at certain times, he could also be a charismatic person.

Victor nodded his head in satisfaction.

Victor’s gaze shifted toward Lin, who stood quietly nearby. He had found her years ago on the streets of Bluestar City. At the time, she had been nothing more than an orphan struggling to survive in a harsh world. No one had paid attention to her. No one had recognised her potential.

However, Victor had immediately seen something special in her. Her talent for cultivation was extraordinary, far beyond anything he had encountered before. Since joining the Night Rider Sect, her growth had been nothing short of astonishing. In terms of natural talent, she had already surpassed countless geniuses who had appeared throughout the sect’s long history.

To be honest, Victor sometimes felt that Lin was more qualified to become the future leader of the Night Rider Sect than he was. Her intelligence, talent, determination, and ability to learn were all exceptional. The only thing holding her back was her cultivation. She had not yet stepped into the Beginner 7th-order Realm, a requirement that the sect had traditionally expected from those occupying its highest positions.

However, Victor was confident that it was only a matter of time. Given her current rate of growth, she would likely reach that level within a few years. And when that day came, he would not hesitate for even a single day. The moment she became a 7th-order cultivator, he intended to personally promote her to the position of Elder and secure her place among the highest authorities of the Night Rider Sect.

”Work Hard Lin. I have very high expectations of you. Once you reach Mid 7th-order or Peak 7th-order, then I will make you the new leader of the Sect.” Hearing this, Lin’s eyes widened. She looked genuinely happy hearing this. Becoming the leader of the Sect was something that she had genuinely pursued ever since she joined the Sect. When she joined, she noticed just how much respect that the leader received from everyone. As someone who is from the streets, she wanted to get that same level of respect from everyone.

”Really?”

Seeing her this excited, Victor chuckled. He genuinely cared about his student. To some extent, they had a father-daughter relationship. She is the daughter that Victor never had. Seeing her succeed only made him happy.

”Yes!”

”But even with your monstrous talent in cultivation, I estimate that it will still take you a few centuries to reach that level.” Still, Victor wasn’t sure what her natural cultivation ceiling was. At the very least, he believed that his student could at least reach beginner seventh order as long as she worked hard.

”Now go! Don’t slack off just because you have more duties than before. I expect you to at least complete 10 to 13 hours of daily cultivation.”

”Yes, Teacher!”
