Chapter 22: Chapter 22: First Display of Prowess

The Elemental Power fluctuations from over ten Opening Realm experts were absolutely soul-shaking. However, facing these people, Lin Yun just smiled faintly, not seeming to care at all.

”You’re facing death and you can still laugh? Lin Yun, I really don’t know if I should call you stupid or foolish,” Guan Renjie said with a savage smile.

As soon as he finished speaking, the dozen or so Guan Family guards swarmed forward. It seemed they wanted to take down Lin Yun in the shortest time possible to avoid any unexpected complications.

”Hmph, a bunch of useless curs, and you think you can kill me, Lin Yun?” Seeing this, Lin Yun snorted coldly. This was the first time he had revealed his breakthrough to outsiders; not even Lu Bingning had noticed.

”The Opening Realm... Lin Yun, you actually broke through to the Opening Realm?” Guan Renjie said, looking at Lin Yun in shock.

He had managed to defeat Lu Bingning while still in the Body Refining Realm. Although he had used some underhanded tricks, Guan Renjie wasn’t naive enough to think Lin Yun had no real strength. On the contrary, in Guan Renjie’s mind, Lin Yun’s strength was absolutely monstrous, at least among Martial Artists of the same realm.

It was precisely for this reason that Guan Renjie had gone so far as to secretly call in over ten guards from his family, all to ensure nothing could go wrong.

But now, it seemed things had deviated from his plan. Guan Renjie never would have imagined that Lin Yun, who hadn’t broken through for over a decade, would suddenly break through to the Opening Realm at a time like this.

”Come on, let me see what you Guan Family trash are made of.” Without giving Guan Renjie much time to be shocked, Lin Yun bellowed and charged the person closest to him.

This man was at the Second Layer of Opening Realm, but facing Lin Yun now, a trace of fear rose in his heart.

In a single bound, Lin Yun was in front of the man, his Tiger Roar Fist striking out. A clear, resounding tiger’s roar emanated from his fist.

The man reacted quickly to Lin Yun’s attack, immediately raising his arms to protect his chest as Lin Yun’s fist slammed forward.

Upon impact, the man felt as if a ferocious tiger had swiped at his arms; they began to tremble uncontrollably.

The immense power sent the man stumbling back more than ten steps before he could barely regain his footing. Lin Yun, in contrast, was completely unharmed, standing his ground and looking at him with utter contempt.

”Guan Family guards? So this is all you amount to,” Lin Yun said softly.

Lin Yun now looked at Guan Renjie and his men with disdain, as if he were looking at trash. Seeing this, Guan Renjie flew into a rage and roared at his guards.

”Get him! Tear Lin Yun to pieces for me!” Being looked down upon, Guan Renjie was furious. At this point, he no longer cared about any plan; his mind was consumed with the thought of how to kill Lin Yun.

Hearing Guan Renjie’s command, the Guan Family guards each brought out their signature skills. If they didn’t perform well now, their future days in the Guan Family would be difficult.

”Lin Yun, die... Bullish Strength!”

”Iron Palm!”

”Vajra Finger!” All sorts of Martial Skills assailed Lin Yun from every direction. Faced with the assault of more than ten people, Lin Yun was naturally not foolish enough to meet them head-on. With a powerful push from his legs, he leaped five meters into the air, easily dodging the attacks.

Seeing Lin Yun leap high into the air, the guards quickly gave chase. In mid-air, Lin Yun was beset by three of them. These three attacked with extreme viciousness; every strike was a killing blow. It seemed they were veterans of many battles.

Though he was fighting one against three, Lin Yun wasn’t at a disadvantage. However, at that moment, he realized something: the only Martial Skill he knew was Tiger Roar Fist.

’Sigh, it’s just as the old saying goes, ”you can never have too many skills.” Only knowing Tiger Roar Fist is so monotonous,’ Lin Yun sighed and murmured to himself.

’Tiger Roar Fist it is, then. Besides being a little monotonous to use, there’s nothing wrong with it. After all, I’ve already comprehended the True Intent of the Tiger Roar Fist.’

The roars of a tiger echoed as Lin Yun relentlessly threw his fists. At this moment, he was like a true tiger, unafraid even when surrounded by a pack of wolves.

The wide, sweeping motions of the Tiger Roar Fist fully unleashed its power. Anyone targeted by Lin Yun was sent flying backward without exception.

’This guy... is he really only at the First Layer of Opening Realm?’ They had been fighting for so long, yet not only had they failed to injure Lin Yun, he had managed to injure four or five of them.

To reach such a level of Combat Power at only the First Layer of the Opening Realm... aside from the students at the Academy, these Guan Family guards had never seen anything like it.

”A bunch of trash. So many of you are ganging up on me, and you’re still scared? What a pack of useless eaters,” Lin Yun said, standing proudly as he continued to provoke the crowd.

Sure enough, upon hearing Lin Yun’s words, the guards who had been in shock were now utterly enraged. The surprise in their hearts was replaced by a burning fury.

Without a doubt, the next round of intense battle began. This time, the Guan Family guards fought even more desperately, each attack delivered with ruthless ferocity.

After several exchanges, Lin Yun also sustained some injuries. Fortunately, he managed to protect his vital points, suffering only superficial wounds that were not a major concern.

”Surround him! Everyone, attack together!” someone shouted. They now planned to use their numerical superiority to overwhelm Lin Yun.

Soon, five Guan Family guards had Lin Yun surrounded. They attacked simultaneously. This assault could be called a guaranteed kill-strike; there was basically no room for Lin Yun to dodge.

”A pack of rats,” he said coldly. As the words left his mouth, Lin Yun thrust out both fists, violently colliding with the two men directly in front of him.

In terms of Elemental Power, they were inferior to Lin Yun. In terms of physical strength, the gap was even wider. Without any surprise, both men were sent flying.

After knocking back two men with his fists, Lin Yun took the attacks of the remaining three head-on.

BANG! BANG! BANG! The sounds of impact rang out continuously. With every collision, a Guan Family guard was sent flying. Lin Yun, in contrast, seemed to grow stronger as the fight went on. Aside from a few injuries, one could hardly tell he was being besieged by over a dozen people.

As the long battle dragged on without a conclusion, the guards grew more and more shocked. This wasn’t just being strong—this was being a Demon Fiend! A First Layer Opening Realm Martial Artist was facing more than ten Second and Third Layer Martial Artists, yet not only had he not been killed, he was actually holding the upper hand.

With fear in their hearts, the men no longer dared to rashly advance. They merely kept Lin Yun surrounded, everyone warily watching the young man in the green robes.

At this point, the situation had spiraled out of Guan Renjie’s control. He hadn’t expected Lin Yun’s strength to be so tyrannical that over ten Opening Realm Martial Artists couldn’t handle him.

However, none of them noticed that Lin Yun’s expression had turned grim. His face was now almost completely drained of color.

Only Lin Yun himself knew that he had used every ounce of his strength just to intimidate them. He knew that if he showed any sign of weakness right now, what awaited him would be their most ferocious assault.

These men might not have been good for much else, but they were experts at bullying the weak. That was why Lin Yun had consistently projected his most powerful side, all for the sake of keeping them in check.
