Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 861: Chapter 430: I Am His Terminator

Lawrence Winters perked up, ”What, what? What Celestial Path Sect World Cup??? Evan Stetford, can you explain in detail?”

Evan Stetford knew she’d be interested and said with a smile, ”You’re also part of the Celestial Path Sect, are you not aware of this quadrennial Celestial Path Sect World Cup grand championship?”

Lawrence Winters chuckled, ”Evan, if I knew, would I need your information?”

”Well, let me explain. It’s the Celestial Path Sect World Cup grand championship organized overseas, held once every four years, divided into three rounds. Each round involves a lottery, followed by elimination matches, and finally, the two winners enter the third round finale. The victor earns the title of grand champion and the grand prize sponsored by our Stetford Family.”

Lawrence Winters listened attentively and then followed up, ”...Is this a competition open to all members of the Celestial Path Sect?”

This question hit the mark.

Evan Stetford laughed and said, ”In theory, yes, and in principle too. But over the years, due to historical and current reasons, only members from the Grant Branch participate.”

Lawrence rolled her eyes, ”Oh, so they still dare to call it a World Cup? Shouldn’t it be called the Grant House Cup?”

”It’s not just the Grant Branch in the whole world of the Celestial Path Sect. Do they think the Zhang sect, Yu sect, and Sa sect are all nonexistent?”

Evan Stetford said wistfully, ”Honestly, before I met you, I thought the Zhang sect, Yu sect, and Sa sect were actually extinct.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

”That’s because you’re too narrow-minded, failing to see the big picture,” Lawrence stated seriously, ”You’re only focused on overseas Celestial Path Sects. What about domestic ones? Have you ever considered inviting domestic Celestial Path Sects to participate in the competition?”

”The Grant Branch believes domestic Celestial Path Sects lack true heritage. The Yu and Sa sects have lost their roots, and the Zhang sect has been silent for years. They...think there’s no need to invite you,” Evan said diplomatically.

Lawrence scoffed, ”Well, they know that our Zhang sect’s reputation is louder than theirs, and our Zhang sect’s lineage is senior to theirs!”

”Remember Peter Grant? He has to call me Grandmaster Aunt. Even his master should call me Aunt!” Lawrence pointed to herself.

Evan suddenly remembered, that Master Zhuge is indeed Peter Grant’s master...

His face took on an interesting expression.

He leisurely stroked his chin and started to laugh, ”Right, I almost forgot about that. Lawrence has a good memory.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...This isn’t about memory; it’s common knowledge.”

Evan was a bit hit by her words, but didn’t mind, and continued to smile, ”Anyway, if you want to observe this Celestial Path Sect championship...”

”No, I don’t want to observe.” Lawrence decisively refused.

Evan’s heart sank. Just as he was about to continue persuading her, he heard her say, ”...I want to participate. Can I?”

If there’s a legitimate avenue to challenge the Grant Branch, even better.

Lawrence wanted to defeat the Grant Branch’s reputation overseas and revitalize the Zhang sect.

Originally, she planned to create some ”big news” herself, but now with an existing stage, she naturally doesn’t need to put in the extra effort.

As if someone offered her a pillow just as she wanted to sleep, she truly was lucky!

Evan Stetford was overjoyed and nodded repeatedly, ”Of course! Of course! However, the competition officially begins in a few days. Do you need to prepare? If you need, I can postpone the competition time.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Whoa! Is this even possible?!

She looked at Evan with suspicion, ”...You can postpone it? What’s your relationship to this championship?”

”I’m the chairman this time, responsible for the overall operations of the competition.”

”So you’re in charge? That’s great! I was worried about potential underhanded dealings. With Evan taking charge, there surely won’t be any shady goings-on!” Lawrence smiled cheerfully, feeling relieved.

Evan felt she missed the key point and asked again, ”Do you need me to postpone it so you can prepare? I can provide you with a venue; my house is big enough...”

Lawrence shook her head with a smile, interrupting him, ”No need to worry about that. I can make it to the finals straight off. Why would I need to prepare?”

Evan Stetford: ”...”

Alright, as long as you’re happy.

Evan knew Lawrence’s capabilities, but when it came to her claiming she could make it to the finals with ease, he thought she was being too cocky.

There are indeed some impressive people in overseas Celestial Path Sects.

Like Master Zhuge.

Evan didn’t say much more, he simply told her, ”My family has text records of the past two championships. I’ll show them to you later.”
