Death… And Me

Chapter 3336: Joining the Investigation Teams

”We have two approaches here,” Roan commented. ”We can fly around and try to find some of the experts allowed to enter the region of the Valames City and Valley. Then, we capture someone, copy the appearance and Werdlem Stone Signature, and use that to go to Valames City.”

”Or,” Roan continued, ”we can try to join one of those powers and go inside that restricted area as members of said powers. Iʼm pretty sure the several powers allowed to join the investigation are recruiting those who live in the surrounding area to help with their investigation of the terrain. We can just pretend to be someone like that.”

”I vote for the second option,” Rifindio spoke. ”You saw the news. Anyone who tries to enter that White Fog ends up on the other side and not entering the city at all. That means we will need time to carry out our own investigation. The first option would be too risky since we arenʼt really the individual we captured.”

Rean and Kentucky agreed with Rifindio. ”Seems like the safest option indeed, especially the time gained to check things.”

Roan didnʼt mind and pulled out his CD. He then checked the nearby cities to Valames City. Although the closest one was still several tens of thousands of kilometers away, that was definitely considered close by the Divine Realm standards. ”Ofitio City it is then.”

Kentucky once again returned to his real form, and their group flew away, everyone on Kentuckyʼs back. It didnʼt take long for them to spot the city with Kentuckyʼs speed, which seemed quite crowded, even from afar. The country was closed for outsiders to enter without authorization, but those already living there still could move around. The events in Valames City caught the attention of various experts in Olanstel Country, and just like the twins, they too came to Ofitio City to try to join the investigations. They also wished to find something good in there.

Arriving at the entrance, Reanʼs group had to provide their identities, but it wasnʼt a problem with Rean and Zangeshuʼs CD. Then, inside the Ofitio, the group went straight to the city center, which they hard to be where the various powers who came to this country to investigate used to conduct their search for helpers.

The City Center was bustling with activity, even more than normal, due to the many experts from everywhere gathered there. Above all, there were various new giant booths where the organizations had their members recruiting.

”Which one do we choose?” Kentucky looked around, and there were quite a few of those there.

Roan pondered a bit. ”They are definitely giving priority to those who know the area and especially Valames City. We know nothing about this place, so it might be a little hard to get selected.”

Roan said that as he checked the various powers conducting their recruitment with his Divine Sense. Pretty much everyone who came to try to join was refused by them, with only one every a hundred experts or so being taken in.

Rean also took a look around and soon found the perfect organization to work with. ”Well, well, well... Isnʼt this convenient? The Formations Guild is also participating in this investigation.”

Everyone looked in that booth direction, and sure enough, the Formations Guild Emblem was very prominent above it.

”It makes sense. Seeing a phenomenon like that, one would guess that a formation might be related to it, so the Formations Guild was also called over. In that case, go there and see if you can join,” Roan stepped aside. They didnʼt Rean and Roan pass, only one of the two. The rest could simply enter the Pocket Dimensional Realm and go with Rean once he gets the permission.

Rean smiled and walked forward, joining the queue of Formations Masters who were trying to get into the exploration teams. After half an hour of waiting, it was finally Reanʼs time to try it. ”Hi, I would like to join the investigation teams going to Valames City.”

The Formations Master worker there nodded. ”What kind of knowledge do you have about this region of the country?”

”I donʼt really have any knowledge since Iʼve never been here before,ʼ Rean answered. ”However, I do have this.” Then, he pulled his Formations Guild identification, using his CD to pass it over to the terminal the guy in front was using.

The man looked at Reanʼs information in the system, finally nodding. ”So you are an official member of the Formations Guild, uh? And a Golden Level Formations Master at that, not too shabby. Very well, you can join the next team that is leaving in two hours. Be aware that the Formations Guild wonʼt hold any responsibility for whatever might happen in that place. There have indeed been no reports of losses so far, but no one knows if this is going to continue to be the case.”

Rean smiled, already expecting that. ”Thatʼs not an issue. As the saying goes, high risks, high rewards. An entire city disappeared, and putting together the entire Valames City resources into perspective, I might strike it rich depending on what happened to its inhabitants.” ”Thatʼs fine,” the worker agreed with Rean. ”Most of those joining are thinking the same thing as you, taking the opportunity to try the jackpot. However, if you do manage to get into Valames, your main objective is to inform the authorities there, including our Formations Guild. Thatʼs your number one priority. Naturally, we also prepared a very handsome reward for anyone who manages to get past that White Fog thing.”

”Thatʼs even better,” Rean was happy that everything was resolved that fast. ”By the way, I have a few assistants that help with my work. Am I allowed to bring them with me?”

”Even if I say no, you will put them inside your Pocket Dimensional Realm, wonʼt you?” The worker asked back. Just like Rean, he was in the Void Tempering Realm, so he could feel Reanʼs Dimensional Realm existence.

”Hehe...”

The worker didnʼt complain and just passed the rules. ”Donʼt worry, thatʼs already expected. Formations Masters often have assistants and disciples, after all. However, the limit is ten. You canʼt bring any more than that with you.”

”Thatʼs way more than enough,” Rean said.

Soon, Reanʼs ID was branded as part of the Formations Guild investigation team, and he was sent away. He just had to join the next team outside the city with the others.
