Death… And Me

Chapter 3326 If You Say So...

Innate abilities were quite common in Divine Species. Celisʼs World Swallowing Cedarʼs innate ability, for example, is its absolutely ridiculous power of absorption of cultivation energies. That is something the twins deeply missed in this Universe.

Gian faintly smiled. ”That, I canʼt deny.”

”Alright,” Ralakia intervened, not in the mood to wait any longer. ”The thing is, since she connected to this Mino something, he will have to take the role that we had prepared for her.”

”Role?” Kentucky and Rean asked back.

”Yes,” Ralakia went straight to the point. ”Gian and I have the same pact, and that helped him become the representative of this continent in the Divine Snow World. However, both of us are ready to enter the Divinity Realm, and we need someone to take his place and protect the Demon Trees and Birdsʼ interest in our continental region.”

”Thatʼs where Ridia would come in. She would connect with my child, who is still in its egg. Gian and I intended to train both of them until they grew strong enough to take Gianʼs position. There was a problem, though. It would take several thousands of years before I could help my hatchling reach the Elemental Space Realm, which is the minimal required to fight for that position.”

Rean scratched the back of his head. ”Thatʼs a little too complicated. Both Kentucky and I wonʼt be staying in this continent for much longer. In fact, before you guys blocked the city, we were supposed to take a teleport to the capital, and from there, we would teleport to the outside.”

Ralakia narrowed her eyes. ”Sure, no problem. Let me just kill that black and white guy, and you can leave straight away. There wouldnʼt be anyone connected to Ridia anymore. Problem solved.”

Kentucky glanced at Rean. ʼCan we just go back to the Dimensional Realm and leave it on Roanʼs exit? This seems quite a waste of time. We already know what they did to find you.ʼ

Rean pondered a bit. He had to admit Kentucky was right, so he considered leaving right away. However...

*Pin!*

As if hearing the conversation, the systemʼs voice echoed in Rean and Roanʼs minds again.

[The Divine Demon Tree Quest has started.]

[As a close supporter of the hosts in their lives, the Divine Demon Tree, known as Celis, played a pivotal role in saving the Lisan Universe. In this new Universe, someone who could play the same role has yet to be selected.]

[Objective: Help the Divine Parasol Tree, known as Ridia, reach the Elemental Space Realm within a hundred years.]

[Reward: One more use added to ʼThe Callʼ ability.]

Rean wasnʼt surprised by the systemʼs intervention. Ever since it got free of its burdens, it gave many quests right, left, and center. This just happened to be another one of such. However, when he heard the last part, his eyes shone with anticipation.

ʼThe Call!ʼ Rean spoke to Roan through their soul connection.

Roan, who had been watching everything from inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, was also delighted to hear that. Considering the contents of the quest, there was only a certain tree it could pull from the Lisan Universe, and that tree was exactly the one the twins wished to have by their sides the most. ʼThe idiot birdʼs actions turned out to be of more use than I initially expected.ʼ

Well... they would rather the system give them a skill to go back to Lisan, but it doesnʼt seem like such a thing will happen anytime soon.

”Ahem...” Reanʼs intention to leave completely disappeared. Celis was an all rounder after he understood the absorption laws, so he could also absorb ridiculous amounts of Starlight Energy. Above all, his abilities also affected the twins and Kentucky, which was even better. ”There is no need to cut my friendʼs head. Iʼm sure he will cooperate as much as you need.”

”Thatʼs the right decision,” Ralakia spoke, satisfied.

Rean didnʼt stop, though. ”What you intend to do is to train both Kentucky and Ridia until they reach the necessary cultivation. When that happens, Gian will follow these rules of yours and start a competition to see who will succeed him. Is it correct?”

Gian nodded this time. ”There are a few more preparations to be done before that, but in a nutshell, that is basically it.”

”In that case, I have a better idea,” Rean faintly smiled before continuing. ”I can bring Ridia with us, and she will benefit tremendously. In exchange, you will let us go, and we will bring her back when she reaches the necessary cultivation. I can guarantee she will be in the Elemental Space Realm within a hundred years. Also, Iʼm not going to make anything that is detrimental to her in the long run. When she comes back, she will have a solid foundation, strong cultivation, and a powerful combat ability. How about that?”

”Ha!” Ralakia felt like she heard a huge joke. ”And you expect me to believe this?”

Rean patted Kentuckyʼs shoulder. ”How about you prove it to her?”

”Ehhh...” Kentucky heard the story from Rean through their connection, so he knew that the best was for them to help Ridia. Still, he truly didnʼt want to fight anyone. ”Sigh... fine. Ralakia, how about you suppress your cultivation to the Space Bending Realm and have a little spar with me?”

Ralakia was just about to refuse it, but Gian stopped her. He still remembered Reanʼs reaction and movement speed when he tried to capture him back in Porgue City. ”Give it a try, Ralakia. You might be surprised.”

Ralakia glanced at Gian, finding it hard to believe. ”She is your daughter, not mine, you know? Are you trusting their words that easily?”

”I donʼt,” Gian shook his head. ”But I know what I saw, and I believe you will want to see this as well. Just give it a try. Iʼm here, so they have no chance to escape regardless.”

Finally, Ralakia relented. ”Well, if you say so...”
