Death… And Me

Chapter 3320: Thatʼs Okay

Circuitry Formation or Normal Formation, just how many Energy Gathering Formations has Rean built in his life? Probably several thousand of them! Thatʼs why he chose this one. It was simple, fast, and a surefire formation that could be easily analyzed by anyone.

Yet, Klian and the others never expected to see how Rean worked on his formation. Reanʼs Divine Energy condensed and divided into hundreds of strands, each more delicate than the next. With his Divine Sense watching over the procedure, Rean controlled all those strands, creating all the runes at once! The level of precision was just ridiculous to believe for those supervisors.

Rean didnʼt think anything of it, though. He was certain that once Zangeshu reached his level, he would be even better. Zangeshuʼs talent is mainly in his precision, after all. Itʼs just that Rean failed to consider the other formations masters in the premises...

In less than five minutes, the runes began to be put in their right positions, and they were connected to each other by the hundreds of Divine Energy Strings Rean was controlling. Finally, the triple-layered Energy Gathering Formation was completed!

ʼZangeshu could have at least told me he had finished. I was working on our project in my mind all this while, and I got a few improvements to our new CDs... Oh well, whatever. Iʼll tell him later. He must definitely be checking the database of the guild now,ʼ Rean thought for a moment.

”Alright, sirs. Sorry for making you wait. You can check it now,” Rean said. Then, he stomped his feet on the ground, and the formation activated.

Immediately, all the Divine Energy in the room rushed to the formation Rean had just built. However, that wasnʼt the main problem. Instead, Reanʼs Energy Gathering Formation was too good! How good?

*Rumble!*

”Not good! Turn it off!” Klian quickly spoke, his heart pounding.

”Hum?” Rean got confused when suddenly...

*Crack, crack, crack...*

Many cracks in space began to appear left, right, and center. The room they were in at the moment was manipulated with a Spatial Formation. That Spatial Formation used the natural Divine Energy in the surroundings to keep itself running.

However, Reanʼs Energy Gathering Formation sucked it all! It didnʼt let the Spatial Formation get a single iota of Divine Energy. Thus... the formation began to collapse, and so did the Spatial Room.

”Run!” Klian shouted, and their group quickly dashed outside the room, Rean included. *Bang, bang, bang!*

Looking from the outside, everything in the room came down, and even quick spatial storms appeared meritoriously before disappearing. The Divine Realm Fabric of Space was many times more stable than the Mortal Realm, so breaking space wasnʼt that easy. Yet, Reanʼs formation caused that when it sucked everything out of the Spatial Formation, creating a chain reaction.

*Ziuuuu... vup!*

Finally, everything was sucked away, and a giant big hole appeared right in the middle of the Formations Guild. It was a good thing that this part of the guild was made for the tests only, so there wasnʼt anyone else there. Otherwise, quite a few beings might have been sucked with the collapse of the room.

Klian swallowed hard, his body trembling just to think about being caught by such a thing. He definitely couldnʼt survive being sucked into a Spatial Aperture.

Rower and Iago were no different. They never expected to see a Spatial Crack appearing in this place.

In the end, all three of them looked at Rean, this time wondering what kind of formation master he was to cause such an outcome.

Looking at the aftermath of the event, Rean scratched the back of his head, smiling at the supervisors on his side. ”Ahem... I guess the Spatial Formation had been under use for a very long time, so it kind of deteriorated. My formation most likely was the last spark that caused it to collapse, donʼt you think? Please, tell me I donʼt have to pay for the repairs...” Klianʼs mouth twitched. Deteriorated? In the Formations Guild? Ridiculous! All formations received proper maintenance, and one could always count on the quality of the formations of the Formations Guild. Klian was absolutely sure the Spatial Formation of the room was in perfect condition!

Yet... he couldnʼt say that. If he said so, that would also mean Reanʼs Energy Gathering Formation was able to break down their Spatial Formation. A, Energy, Gathering, Formation! Not only that, it was an Energy Gathering Formation made of the cheapest materials they had. If he admitted their perfectly working Spatial Formation was broken by such a thing, the Formations Guildʼs Pride would receive an even bigger blow. ”You are... probably right... Donʼt worry. You donʼt need to pay for it.”

Rean sighed in relief. What bullshit, right? He knew better than anyone else that it was all his fault. He wouldnʼt admit that, though. ”By the way... does that mean I failed? I mean... my formation was right in there, and you had no chance to analyze it? Alright, letʼs forget it. Iʼll come back tomorrow to take the test again.”

”NO!” Klian, Iago, and Rower immediately stopped Rean. Take another test? What does he want to do? Bring the entire Formations Guild down with him? No, perhaps he will make the entire City disappear next time.

Rean was taken aback, not expecting such a reaction. ”N-No?”

”Ahem... I mean... There is no need for such a bothersome thing,” Klian quickly noticed he overreacted as well, fixing his behavior. ”Even though the Spatial Formation of the room was... worn out... it was still not easy to break. Since your Energy Gathering Formation managed to cause its collapse, it is definitely a properly made formation. There is no need to check again.”

Rean was quite happy to hear that. ”Really? Thatʼs great! What level of formations master am I being registered as?”

”Let me see... Silver One, I guess?” Klian pondered a bit. That was a simple Energy Gathering Formation, after all... if you could call what Rean did simple...

”Thatʼs good enough. I can take the Golden Level Test later. I can make one even better than I did with better materials.” Rean didnʼt mind and accepted the Silver Level.

”Ah!” Klian immediately changed his mind. ”Did I say Silver? My age must be catching up to me. I wanted to say Golden. Yes, golden!” Like hell he would let Rean make an even more dangerous formation than the last one in this guild. Klian still wanted to live. ”Please go outside and finish the procedures. By the way, our city only has Formations Master tests up to Golden Level. If you want to take the Divine Level test, you will have to go to a bigger city later.”

”Thatʼs... okay, I believe?” Rean wouldnʼt refuse that, for sure. And so, Rean was registered as a member of the Formations Master guild as a Golden Level Master.
