Daddy Always Gets Jealous

”Do you believe me?”

Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan, holding her locked in his embrace.

Che Huan pushed hard against Huo Jinnan’s chest with both hands, ”Your mother can hear us...”

”They wouldn’t dare listen.”

Huo Jinnan looked at her with interest and teased her on purpose.

Just then, Che Huan’s mobile phone rang on the coffee table, vibrating and the screen flickering.

She reached out to grab it, barely catching a glimpse of the screen, it was President Qin!

She quickly answered and turned on the speakerphone.

Soon, Qin Moting’s voice came through the speaker, ”Huanhuan...”

Huo Jinnan paused for a moment, his large palm seized Che Huan’s hand, took the phone from her, glanced at it, and after hearing Qin Moting call out ”Huanhuan” again, he said in a deep voice, ”President Qin, please wait a moment, she is taking a bath. She will call you back later.”

As soon as his voice fell, he didn’t wait for Qin Moting to respond and hung up the phone.

Che Huan glared at Huo Jinnan, ”You actually dare to hang up on your own father-in-law!”

Huo Jinnan’s eyes were dark as ink, ”He called at an inconvenient time.”

Che Huan immediately felt breathless, ”So when is a good time for him to call?”

Huo Jinnan stared at her for a while and then lightly said, ”In an hour.”

Che Huan glared at Huo Jinnan and caught his hand, biting down hard on the back of it.

Huo Jinnan looked down at it, just watching, and when she had bitten enough and let go, he pinched her face, ”Are you a dog?”

Che Huan, ”Yes, is that a problem? Do you have an objection?”

Huo Jinnan whispered, ”It’s fine, but it’s only fair to return the favor.”

As his words ended, he kissed her.

...

An hour later, Che Huan called Qin Moting back, ”Dad, what’s the matter?”

——”Your mother had another surgery yesterday, and the results aren’t bad.”

Che Huan bit her lip, ”Then... why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

Qin Moting spoke softly, glanced at his watch, which had just passed an hour, admiring Huo Jinnan’s sense of timing, ”Wasn’t Xiaowei starting school yesterday?”

Che Huan parted her damp bangs, ”So—”

Qin Moting said softly, ”Huanhuan, she didn’t want to worry you, and I agreed with her. It’s fine, isn’t it? Come over later for dinner, bring Xiaowei with you. If Huo Jinnan is too busy, the two of you can come by yourselves, I’ll have Ji Yan pick you up.”

Che Huan glanced at Huo Jinnan, ”Okay. He’s free.”

Qin Moting looked at the time again, ”By the way, don’t take baths at this time in the future, it’s not good for your health.”

”...”

Che Huan glared in Huo Jinnan’s direction, ”Dad, I got it.”

After hanging up the phone, she turned to Huo Jinnan, ”If you do this again in the future, I’m going to learn from the platoon leader.”
