Daddy Always Gets Jealous

One or two years, that long?

Is this the rhythm of having babies?

Qin Shaojin’s slender fingers stroked the menu, seeing Wen Nuan glaring at the leftover pig kidneys on the table, passed the menu towards Wen Nuan, ”Boarding fee.”

Huo Jinnan saw Che Huan looking at him and whispered softly, ”No problem, quote whatever you want.”

Qin Shaojin asked with interest, ”Why suddenly decide to send the leader over to my place for foster care? You weren’t happy when I took him to play for a few days before.”

Huo Jinnan’s voice was low and magnetic, ”Caught the epidemic.”

”...”

Qin Shaojin pressed his nose bridge, could he have guessed wrong?

”You’re afraid of the epidemic and I’m not?”

”You don’t have a wife and kids, tough and sturdy, what’s to be scared of?”

Huo Jinnan said something softly, then hung up the phone and glanced down to see the leader glaring at him.

Che Huan watched from the side and wanted to laugh, ”Look at you, you’ve bullied the leader for so long, now he’s got a temper too.”

No sooner had the words fallen than the leader pounced, his two sharp claws ripped Huo Jinnan’s trousers with a slash.

Huo Jinnan furrowed his brows and looked down at his trouser legs that had become strips of cloth.

The leader recoiled slightly and, with lightning speed, returned to his own room.

The door ”bang—” shut, and soon the sound of the lock turning came from inside.

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, ”The leader... can he lock the door from the inside?”

Huo Jinnan glanced at the leader’s room, ”Then it should know that this tactic is useless against me.”

”...”

Che Huan thought of the times he had broken into rooms, her gaze falling on his slender, clean fingers.

Huo Jinnan walked straight to the leader’s door, his trouser legs swinging with his movement.

The leader perked up its ears, hearing the sound, and pressed its butt firmly against the door, its eyes darting around the room.

The door ”whooshed” twice and was forcefully pushed open.

A flicker of panic crossed the leader’s eyes, its body leaped towards the balcony, landed on its hind legs with a push, and jumped out the window.

Huo Jinnan walked to the balcony, looking out and down.

The leader was in the yard, looking up. Seeing Huo Jinnan, it barked twice and ran away.

Huo Jinnan lit a cigarette and took a couple of drags, just stepping out of the leader’s room, seeing the leader already in the living room, pouncing on Che Huan on the sofa, hugging her enthusiastically and ”hu-hu-ing” as it licked her arm.

Hearing the sound of leather shoes on the floor, the leader’s ears twitched a few times, jumped onto the top of the sofa, and with a leap, escaped through the window, shaking its tail as it made its getaway.

Huo Jinnan walked over to Che Huan, took a look, saw her covered in the leader’s fur. He bent down, his slender fingers picking up each strand and tossing them into the nearby trash can.

Che Huan sat up, thinking of the leader’s entry into the living room, and looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Was the leader just using a ’diversionary tactic’?”

Huo Jinnan too hadn’t expected the leader to be so audacious.

Looking at Che Huan, he remained silent, his thin lips pressed tightly.

Che Huan pulled out a few tissues and wiped the saliva from her arm.

Huo Jinnan seized her jaw, lifting it, ”Taking pleasure in my misfortune?”

”...”

Che Huan just couldn’t help smiling without making a sound.

Huo Jinnan spoke one word at a time, ”I’ve got a green light over my head.”

”That’s what you get for always bullying the leader.”

No sooner had Che Huan’s words fallen than Huo Jinnan scooped her up sideways, and she cried out in surprise, ”This is the living room!”

Huo Jinnan’s voice was magnetically seductive, ”Rong Mama and Uncle Lu wouldn’t dare to watch.”

Che Huan turned her head, indeed Rong Mama who had been disinfecting a corner was nowhere to be seen, and as for Uncle Lu, he was even more out of sight!
