Cursed Immortality

Chapter 950 Harbinger of Disaster! (1)

Jacob looked towards the Soul Ghost King, ʼHow long was I gone?ʼ

He wondered since he had no idea how long he had been inside the Divine Soulless Pagoda. Although not even a day had passed for Jacob, he knew it should be more than a day.

However, even if a month had passed, Jacob was sure the Soul Ghost King wasnʼt supposed to have come back so quickly unless those Ghost Kings had been subdued completely.

”What did you do?” The Soul Ghost Kingʼs icy voice rang behind her ghost form.

Jacob was already exhausted and didnʼt want to have a clash with the mysterious Soul Ghost King at this moment. But he couldnʼt be questioned by her either.

”Do I need to report my every action to you?” Jacob coldly retorted, and with the help of the Throne of the Soulless, he released the majestic might of the Soulless Ghost King.

The Soul Ghost Kingʼs ghost form flickered fiercely before she spoke, ”Sixteen days ago, I sensed abnormalities in the Soul Abyss, which is the exact same day you went into the Treasury Vault.

”I didnʼt think much of them since the Soul Abyss was still active for another decade. However, just a few moments ago, the Soul Abyss suddenly became extremely chaotic and started showing signs of eruption, and you, My King, arrived just at the right time. Thatʼs why Iʼm asking, what did my King do?”

At this moment, Jacob was stumped by this estranged question. He had no idea what the Soul Ghost King was talking about. Although he knew about the Soul Abyss, he didnʼt know what connection the Soul Ghost King had with it.

Furthermore, if what the Soul Ghost King told him was true, Jacob couldnʼt help but think about the Divine Soulless Pagoda.

ʼDonʼt tell me there is some connection with Divine Soulless Pagoda and Soul Abyss? Although Soulless had tricked the Soulless Ghost Ancestor, the Divine Soulless Pagoda had been Soulless Ghost Ancestorʼs property for a long time.

ʼEven if he couldnʼt use his full might, he had still conquered the Ghost Domain and established the entire Ghost Race as one of the big three of the Dead Faction. So, it shouldnʼt be surprising if he used some tricks in his heydays or made more deals with Soulless to strengthen his domain.

ʼHowever, even the Soulless Ghost Ancestor hadnʼt thought that Soulless was planning to run away from the start, and I just not only lent it a helping hand, but I also seized it.

ʼSo, now, it seemed Soulless not only controlled the treasury vault but also had more direct involvement with the Ghost Domain, especially with the Soul Abyss that is rumored to be the source of the Ghost Raceʼs dominance and strength. Too bad, I had no memories of it, and those memories should also contain the connection of Soul Ghost King with the Soul Abyss as well…ʼ

Jacob looked at Soul Ghost King, who was showing faint hostility, and he was in a bad spot at this moment since he was still recovering.

However, at this moment, something struck Jacob. His eyes compressed, and a faint killing intent surfaced in them. ”How do you know the exact time I went to the treasury vault? You were spying on me instead of following my orders!”

The Soul Ghost Kingʼs shadowy form trembled slightly before she impassively replied, ”I donʼt know what happened to you, my king, but it seemed you have forgotten that I canʼt leave the Soulless Palace while the Soul Abyss is in active state. You were behaving too strangely, yet you couldnʼt be an imposter. I implore you to tell me what happened to you; you are not in your right mind!”

Jacob was shocked as he wasnʼt expecting something like this to expose his act. Although he was aware of the Soul Ghost Kingʼs complicated position, he had no idea it would be this complicated, and on top of that, she couldnʼt even leave the Soulless Palace.

So, it wasnʼt hard for Jacob to understand how his act was bound to fail. However, the Soul Ghost King still thinks he is the real deal and has only suffered some injury, probably because of the Throne of the Soulless and how he remembered the secret sequence to enter the treasury vault.

Now sheʼs confronting him about it because the Soul Abyss had suddenly turned into a chaotic mess, and she knew she couldnʼt pretend to be oblivious to this any longer.

If there was really something wrong with the current Soulless Ghost King, then from his act to start a war, going against the Dead Faction, and now doing something to the Soul Abyss, it needed to be stopped before he dragged the entire Ghost Race down with it.

Although the Soul Ghost King somewhat preferred this version of the Soulless Ghost King because he showed some consideration for her, she was now unsure if this was just an act or real.

She was determined to stop Soulless Ghost King immediately if he showed any signs of resistance or continued to pretend to be normal.

On the other hand, many possibilities flashed past Jacobʼs mind. The situation wasnʼt completely out of hand; it was still salvageable.

But before he could respond to Soul Ghost Kingʼs interrogation, a powerful earthquake rumbled through the entire Soulless Palace and spread throughout the Ghost Domain!

However, it wouldnʼt be a big deal because thereafter, the Soulless Palace, the symbol of the Ghost Raceʼs dominance, the royal familyʼs glorious past, and the home of the Ghost Raceʼs highest authority, the Soulless Ghost King, suddenly started to crack!

The followers and servants within the Soulless Palace instantly panicked as they thought someone was attacking it.

However, the protective formations around the palace didnʼt show any signs of reacting; it was as if a natural disaster had suddenly struck the Soulless Palace. This notion was even more absurd because natural disasters donʼt exist anywhere near the Soul Abyss.

At this moment, suddenly, all hell broke loose, and a sky-shattering, heart-wrenching scream filled with countless wails of anguish reverberated throughout the Soulless Palace.

”NOOOOOOO! THE SEAL!!!???!!!”

It was the Soul Ghost King!
